@Aleumdaun, the movie is quite stimulating. I guess they edited most of the violent and intimate scenes but the overall flow of the movie is much too strong. I personally enjoyed the movie and thought it was fun.  His character is much different from what we're used to see on him so, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. He's so alive in "Gangnam Blues". His flying kick brings awe to the audience. We could see just how long his 112 centimeter legs were.  LOL - And because it deals with violence, the film is obviously gory and explicit. Moreover, with Gangnam Blues being Lee Min Ho’s breakout movie role as a lead actor, a lot of expectation was placed upon him. I was just happy that Gangnam Blues topped the box office on its opening day in South Korea during release. For me, Gangnam Blues is a clear winner, offering an original take on the gangster movies.

Thanks for the detailed summary of LMH in GB @willenette.  Saw the uncensored 2 hour 21 minutes, whole of it , whilst watching Faith at the same breath.    Never thought he could act this "raw" or rough,  a rising gangster from nowhere as Jong Dae - totally a different sight of him, from the usual Kdrama melo style.

@Thong Thin, it's got quite a view right? But this is not his house. It's some resort they went to in preparation for the filming of The King. This is where he did one of his IG live.

@CarolynH, that's great news! Better keep that note in a safe place :)

9 K-Drama Love Triangles That Break Our Hearts

1594051084869-1-660x400.jpg

No K-Drama is complete without a heartbreaking love triangle that forces us to pick sides and yell at the TV.

K-Drama is a brilliant and zestful world that can make you ride a rollercoaster of emotions with every riveting scene. One moment we find ourselves laughing at their witty banter, and the next moment, they’ve got us sitting in a puddle of our own tears.

K-Dramas drive us crazy, but let’s face it, that’s why we love them the way we do.

For this list of fictional love triangles, we advise that you prepare your hearts, as they are about to be set aflutter. Be warned though, because after giving you butterflies, we’re going to break your hearts into little pieces by making you choose sides in true K-Drama style!

#1 Boys Over Flowers

Let’s hop onto a time machine and travel back to 2009 to kick off with the most timeless K-Drama of all time! Boys Over Flowers immerses us in the world of Geum Jan Di and Shinhwa High’s notorious F4. When the group’s ruthless leader, Gu Jun Pyo (Lee Min Ho) has his heart set on Geum Jan Di, he goes to extreme lengths just to win her over.

Their synergy is undeniable, but everyone who have watched this modern fairytale must have been rooting for Yoon Ji Hoo (Kim Hyun Joong) to have his happy-ever-after with Jan Di (Gu Hye Sun). The lighthearted chemistry between the two is that beautiful dreamy kind of love. Don’t even speak to us if you don’t glare at the TV every time their love story gets interrupted. In general, Boys Over Flowers conveys a positive message of how people can change for the better. All it takes is a little love and a lot of perseverance. (Are you on team Ji Hoo or team Jun Pyo?)

#7 Heirs

In the world of K-Dramas, Heirs is one of the most revolutionary ones. Boasting of a highly impressive cast, the drama features all the handsome oppas such as Lee Min Ho, Kim Woo Bin, Choi Jin Hyuk, Kang Ha Neul, Kang Min Hyuk and Park Hyun Sik. Moreover, the ladies in the drama are no less, especially when it includes Hallyu goddesses Park Shin Hye, Krystal and Kim Ji Won.

Set in the world of the rich high school kids, Heirs depicts their not-so-regular lives. Even if on the surface it looks like the rich has it all, in reality, they have to bear the burden of the crown. The main protagonist of the drama is Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho), a young heir destined for many great things but also with a deeply seeded secret. After an encounter with Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye), a girl from a poor family, he starts pursuing her strongly.

But it is not only Kim Tan, who has been bewitched by Cha Eun Sang as he faces a rivalry from his best friend-turned-enemy Choi Young Do (Kim Woo Bin). Quite the tsundere, Choi Young Do completely transforms as he watches over Cha Eun Sang with his puppy eyes from the distance. Meanwhile, Kim Tan is not willing to give up easily either.

It is a heart-wrenching ride to watch Kim Tan and Choi Young Do battle each other for Cha Eun Sang’s affections. Regardless, both of them do their absolute best for the happiness of their favorite girl. Hence, it becomes even more difficult to choose between the parties. Though Kim Tan and Cha Eun Sang are endgame, Choi Young Do fights well too, making viewers wish for his happy ending.

(Are you on team Ji Hoo or team Jun Pyo?) >>> I on Both teams NOT ON TEAM GEUM JAN-DI If that makes sense.

:ilike:

Funny Thing after LMH return there were Hoax articles stating a Comeback for Heirs 2. The Only question I had at that time was How On Earth are they gonna get the Entire A Lister Cast Together BACK AGAIN? I mean the Cast budget itself would have been Over-Over Budget. And the OG supporting ones cannot be entitled to only supporting ones, they could have done a proper Cameo. ha ha LOL @ 112 cms long leg. Thanks for the summary. I tend to stay away from violent movies but I will brave it for LMH. My husband is pretty good in telling me when to look away LOL and I  hope I wouldn't have to look away too often. He looks so different in the movie (very rugged and handsome) in the tiny bits on YouTube. And this is right after KIm Tan? He grew up so fast. :D I am very happy to hear the movie topped the Box office.

@Min2206, ohhh...........no problem on cutting my post.

@madmad min, actually, when I read that I was hoping that LMH won't do it in case, that was true. I don't really dig remakes/sequels/part2s for that matter since I believe that nothing could surpass the original. So, I'm not into that.....

@Aleumdaun, ye, because "The Heirs" was a 2013 drama while "GB" was a 2015 movie. BTW, is the movie still in Dramacool?

@Nikaa94

The City Hunter and LOTBS PD is overrated imo and not saying his bad because he certainly fulfills his duty right but I think his overrated especially compared to the PD from TKEM whom I geninuely believe to be the best PD in the business currently in Kdramas. He stepped down due to the Japanese warship incident which was reaching for straws type of controversy since that is a sensitive topic in sk but aside from that if you view it from objective POV his patient when filming and always gives the best possible angles for each actor involved and his not lazy by doing reshoots again and again if the angle is not favorable to the actors he doesn't tire out from reshoots. I respect PD's who are not lazy and who has the best intention towards the involved actors.

I geninuely feel that his the best PD in Kdramaland by far and some of the scenes he shoot was breathe-taking and very focussed. He captured the dopplegangers on the same frame flawlessly, the time-stops, the background scenery and action scenes.

As for the critically acclaimed drama part It's nearly impossible to make that into something watchable because it would have to become extremely slice of life with no entertainment value inclusion example like Chernobyl where everything has to be based on real life or something like social awareness and the only thing you can do in SK currently is probably the ferry incident where LMH's character has to be linked to it or present in the accident and all the romance, fan-service, and over the top entertainment value will be cut out and the drama has to be made into like ''REAL LIFE'' type of flow. Not something the majority will love because people watch Kdramas to escape the real world but you are giving them here real world hardcore. Critically acclaimed dramas are not good when it comes to the entertainment value aspect. Alot people will probably tune in expecting to be entertained and it would be like giving them dry painting to watch.

When it comes down to critical acclaim Gangster movies are very good choice because you can make them exciting and still highly critically acclaimed like ''Gangnam Blues'' For critical acclaim he should make movies and not always critically acclaimed movies but to mix things up sometimes it's also good to do entertainment geared movies etc etc but for Series critical acclaim is not a good choice but the right decision would be going with mass consumption geared dramas and mixed movies of all types of genres.

I remember post heirs he had two gangster movie scripts and he wanted to do them both back to back but due to schedule reasons he declined one of them and took Yoo Ha's offer because his one of the biggest names in SK film industry.

He said that he will make another movie with LMH at the press-con back then and it will be exciting to see them work together again. His very good in the gangster genre since his a genre specialist. I would love to see a big cast modern gangster film this time set in modern era with Yoo Ha and Lee Min Ho preferably netflix original movie
