Penned by “Goblin” and “Descendants of the Sun” writer Kim Eun Sook, “The King: Eternal Monarch” is a fantasy drama about two parallel universes. One universe is a democracy that resembles modern-day Korea as we know it, while the other is an alternate universe in which Korea is an empire ruled by a single monarch. In order to fight evil and close the door between their two worlds, the ruler of the Korean Empire—Emperor Lee Gon (played by Lee Min Ho)—ends up joining forces with Jung Tae Eul, a detective who resides in the present-day Republic of Korea (played by Kim Go Eun).

Hi CarolynH, GO, girl! For those who still haven't watched this drama, if you're looking for a best K-drama with satisfying ending, for me, it's BOF. The 1st EP, while watching him on his 1st scene, I think my heart skipped a bit - hahaha - The storyline is amazing! The scenes were beautifully done, very haunting. I love when Jun Pyo flies Jan Di in his private jet over an island & shows her a huge heart shape carved into the ground below.

yuiy, you seem to root & ship the reel couple,huh? Hahaha - Currently, I noticed that K- free networks have increased TV viewing as I guess people are asked to stay at home due to covid pandemic. It's just that they're struggling due to intensifying competition with cable channels. Most of them scrapped weekday nighttime dramas & increased re-runs instead. 

 

I love "Faith", too because of a happy-ending although the ending wasn't self-explanatory maybe because of some questions like "What's with the tree?" I'm a sucker for a happy-ending stories. Hahaha - I don't really dig historical/sageuk genres but I watched this drama because of LMH. Well, he never fails to amaze me. The series is well-done despite of some plot flaws & repetitive situations.
