AH! It's been so long since I've posted. I've been lurking in and out, but I've been in the midst of finishing summer school, graduating (hurrah!), and last but not least, planning a crazy, last-minute trip to see KIM DONG WAN!!! I totally didn't even fathom the chance that I could go, but the stars sort of lined up, and I will be seeing our guy (my heart has been racing like crazy these past few days). I will be sure to share my experience here (probably no media, since my pictures turn out crappy anyway AND I think, unlike other concerts I've gone to where I tried to take pictures, I'm just going to ENJOY and just BE at the concert...I'm sure wonderful sites like Lover and Name will have amazing clips/pictures though). T-minus 3 days! GAH!

I'm in the U.S. too - not looking forward to the nearly 24 hour travel time. But it'll be nice to be in Seoul again (esp. with the incentive of seeing my most favorite gasoo and celebrity). It's going to be a pretty short trip, but I think that's all I can take, judging from my past trip 3 years ago - I can only take Seoul in small doses!

[08.09.18][news] Kim Dongwan's elementary school graduation photo revealed

At the most recent recording of MBC's Stars' Friends, singer Kim Dongwan - with his good friend whom he had known since elementary school - brought along his elementary school yearbook and revealed his elementary school graduation photo. The photo had the other guests roaring in laughter.

Kim Dongwan had apparently already kept the yearbook for 15 years, and he felt really embarrassed about showing it as he looks completely different now.

According to sources, Kim Dongwan's friend, who owns two taekwondo schools, is a warmhearted guy with a tall and strong build, and resembles actor Lee Cheon Hee, currently seen on Family Outing.

In order to make up for his loss on his previous appearance on the show, Kim Dongwan gave his utmost support to his friend, who in turn impressed the guests by breaking 10 wooden boards with his bare hands.

Other guests on the upcoming 20th Sept episode includes Son Ho Young, Boom, Lee Young Eun and Chae Min Seo.

[08.09.20][news] Kim Dong Wan Sings Live with Guitar on Love Letter

Shinhwa's Kim Dong Wan (29) who will be entering the army soon shared the stage with an elder singer Kim Hyun Chul. On the 19th's broadcast of KBS 2TV's "Yoon Do Hyun's Love Letter" from his 2nd solo repack album's song "What's Wrong" was sung as a duet.

The emcee Yoon Do Hyun brought up that all three of them had prior experiences as DJ's in the past. Using that as an introduction, he suggested that they sing live with guitars (on the show). Kim Dong Wan, Kim Hyun Chul and Yoon Do Hyun gave the audience a taste of their ability to sing live and gave a moving performance.

Kim Dong Wan will be having his first solo concerts on the 20th and 21st at Ewha's Women University as his last concerts before entering the army. Guests for his concerts inculde Kim Hyun Chul, Sweet Sorrow, Kim Jae Suk, Yoon Ha, Joo and July along with a slew of younger and older singers.

now i remember..

first he wore the sunflower t shirt inside his pink jacket..

but the sun flower was in the back..

after that he opened the jacket..and he pretended to open the t shirt..

when we saw it we were screaming, but he only rotate the sunflower from back to front..

wooo hooo! went to dong wan's concert yesterday. :]. we weren't allowed to take pictures, and there were security people randomly checking. i was on the first floor...14th row? me and my friend and planning to go today too...because dongwan mentioned something yesterday that to see the rest of the shinhwa members, we would need to wait. O.O.

when i arrived at the concert venue, i was pleasantly surprised at how everything was well organized by the fans. plus it was cute seeing people in shinhwa umbrellas, since it was raining. one thing that i noticed was that there were parents who were fans that came with their kids and a lot of older women there. there were also a few guys there also.

walking into the auditorium, in the hallway outside the entrance, there were congratulation flowers. there was three; one from m rizing, nd entertainment, and one other one (i forgot who it was).

after doing a few songs, wannie did a section of what would prob be "1010 radio" as a tribute to when he was a host. part of this section included people in his musician band to tell stories, and random stuff like that. the first guests were joo and this other guy (sry didn't catch his name). they talked a little bit. joo was mentioning that she was a shinhwachangjo, and wannie was like "who did you like? u liked jinnie huh?" and she goes, "i liked dongwan oppa too!" haha. then she goes and sings her song (which she sang really well by the way). then the guy goes and sings.

the second round of guests were a group called sweet sound? they were a group of 4 guys. not the best looking, but pretty good singers. in their chorus in the song that they sang, it's like something (i forget) saranghaeyo...and at the end, one of the singers told us to sing it with them, but put dong wan in the blank. hahha. it was cute.

last but not least, it was hyesung. the fans went super crazy. hahaha, the girl next to me was screaming oppa. hahhaa. they talked a little, did this crazy calling fan thing, sang the 1010 radio jiggle together and then hyesung left. i guess there were a list of numbers that was added to this one cell phone. they are all numbers of the fans at the concert? something like that. so they called a few of them and asked them what present they wanted (they didn't give it, but was just like a conversation thing). the first was a girl from taiwan. she said something like come to taiwan! (in english)and then wannie replied in english (okay, i will come to taiwan). haha. it was funny seeing their confused faces that first, because they either couldn't hear or understand the person on the phone was saying. the next girl they talked to was pretty incomprehensible...so hyesung put the phone up to his ear and talked to her. asked her if she liked him or dongwan more. she said dongwan oppa. xP. her present was that she wanted a kiss on the cheek from dongwan. then they talked about hyesung's upcoming concert in october. when they were saying goodbye, dongwan was like "i'll contact u next week and we can go out and drink"..hyesung was like "oh, not drinking" (something along those lines..and the fans were like...ehhh..kinda like u kno u want to kind of ehh). then dongwan goes "okay, then eating". and hyesung replies "well, how about both" and they laugh and hug. during their conversation together dongwan kept accidently hitting the microphone, and it would hit hyesung's teeth because he was holding it so close to it. hyesung would make like a hurt sound and dongwan would say sorry. hahhaa.

mm..i forgot what was after, but i do remember an exciting thing that happend. wannie walked in through the side doors of the auditorium (from backstage and walked through the aisle to the stage). he had maybe 2 bodyguards with him? and the fans were not blocked off by anyone. he was walking through two rows ahead of me. fans were pretty much well behaved. no one ran toward him or anything. mostly people were just kind of screaming and put their hands out to be high fived or whatever.

in any case at the end of the concert he was saying the whole wait to see shinhwa thing..and that he had fun tonight and didn't want to go. (that was the fake end of the concert)..haha. then the fans screamed "kim dong wan" until he came out again and did his handkerchief encore. it was cute, because all the fans were singing along to this song. then he said this is really good bye now, and every one left the auditorium.

oh! forgot to mention that during the concert he showed a few pictures from everlasting mythology concert, and pictures from 1010 radio. plus he sang the song that he wrote for shinhwachangjo and the other stuff that kunjit already mentioned. :]. all in all, it was pretty fun...and now i finally have a shinhwa glowstick. keke.

Singer Kim Dong Wan apart from Shinhwa has put his name on the line as he has his first and last solo concert before he enters the army.

On the 20th, Kim Dong Wan will have his first solo concert in Seoul at the Ewha's Women University since he debuted 10 years ago and shared about his feelings. The concert is entitled "Promise" meaning during the time he is away for his military service asking that he will not be forgotten.

Kim Dong Wan said with confidence, "Shinhwa is kind of "jjang" so I don't think the fans will forget us."

The following is from news conference before Kim Dong Wan's concert.

*As you have your first concert how do you feel?

-I don't feel nervous but I feel sad as it feels like a send off. In fact, during rehearsals I got teary eyed. I was worried as I wanted to do as many appearences as I could before I leave for the army.

*What is the meaning of the title for the concert "Promise"?

-The title was chosen to keep the bond that we have in tact even while I will be away while serving in the army.

*Who will be appearing as guests?

-Kim Hyun Chul, Sweet Sorrow, Joo as well as many others will be part of the concert. I believe it will be a very solid performance overall.

*Have you gained confidence as a solo artist?

-It isn't that I have gained confidence but more like I don't get as nervous. I think it's because those who support me are constantly watching over me.

*Did you sleep well last night?

-Usually before a performance I don't sleep well but last night I slept really well.

*How are you feeling about the military service?

-It will be a valuable time. I see it as a time for me to think alone about what I would like to do in the future. Honestly, I don't feel that I am serving my country any less as a public servant (instead of in the army). For 10 years, Dong Wan didn't rest and kept going. There is a part of me that wants to rest a bit now.

*The resason that you have so many overseas fans?

-I think it was because I was part of the first wave of singers to go abroad in the Korean wave. Currently, DBSK, SS501 and others are doing a lot of promotions in Japan. Shinhwa has steadily been doing promotions over a prolong period and there is a lot of merit in that.

*What will make Kim Dong Wan's concert different from the other Shinhwa members' concerts?

-I saw in the concerts for Min Woo, Andy and Jun Jin that they were cute or had powerful dances. For me, I want to show "unplugged" stages in my concert. Instead of relying on audio devices, I would like to use just music and my voice. To show the beautiful blending of these things (to the audience).

*Within Shinhwa what is Kim Dong Wan's charm?

-I think my charm is that my image is one of a familiar older brother. Then at other times I have charms of a wild beast. ha ha ha (laughter)

*You released your second album and your concert seems a bit belated. What does this concert mean to you personally?

-Honestly, during these time when we are in a recession, it's hard to enjoy the concert. I struggled with having a concert when it's a hard time for many people suffering loss. For Dong Wan to sing for 2 hours alone, I didn't have confidence to do that in my 20's.

*What would you like to say to fans lastly?

-Please don't lose the feelings you have for Shinhwa. Rather, don't forget us. It's because Shinhwa is kind of "jjang"! (laughter)
