ChunJin Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Are they made for tall people?I buy clothes... and I look in the mirror. They don't look as good as what I see on TV or Pictures. Is it just me or does it seem like clothes are made/look better for 6'0" taller people who are white/light skinned and skinny? And they just shrink it down for smaller people but it doesn't look that good for smaller people. I'm 5'6" and brown but nothing looks good on me except polos :\. I'd like to wear graphic tees & really cool pants but it looks goofy on me lol
Guest NotFromThisPlanet Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 models jobs are to look superhot and to convince people that they should follow trends, and fads, and buy clothes seen in commercials, magazines, and on television shows. dont try to be like what you see in the media, be comfortable in what you wear. choose things that you like, and that look good on you.
Guest Poetic Prophet Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 im over 6 feet tall and clothes still look goofy on me. It really depends on your personal style and what you have confidence in that you can pull off. Its not so much about the clothes, but the person whos wearing them. Peace!
Guest Batgirl Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 you notice how you never really see the back of models? Because if you look, the clothes are pinned so it looks like it fits them well. Dont look at models, look at girls you see in person who are your size.
~ BunnyliciouS ~ Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 ^ Yeah! GAP always does that to their manequins. From the front, "Wow... that top looks nice!" When I see the back part, "Heiii, they pinned the back part to make it looks form-fitting !!" For pants, some of them are meant for tall people .. even though the size says "Regular"... they are still too long
Guest MiJi_10 Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 i'm 5'8" and sometimes have trouble finding shirts that are long enough. to me it seems that tops are made for shorter people. but pants seem to look better on those with long/skinny legs.
Guest Saki>^.^< Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 Short people, like me (I'm 5' ), can't really pull off some styles like oversized shirts and stuff cuz we (I) just drown in them So I wear a lot of mini/ shrunk smaller stuff to make my appearence look less... short, or scrunched? Plus I always have to cut my jeans and stuff to make them fit >.< I must have to say, some polos are a pain in the neck too, as they are too long sometimes
Guest heineken. Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 I'm 5'6" too and I noticed that too. But you have to realize that pictures in magazines are ps'ed O_O It's the model's job to look good haha. Being tall is certainly an advantage though.
Guest sj22 Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 i agree.. i'm 5'3.. and it's so hard to find pants that fit me because of my short legs.... T_T i wish i was 5'6
Guest wee33 Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 i think its because you expect to look exactly like them. so when you didn't you thoguht you look bad but in reality you look just as good but different. ::shruggs:: some of my friends are like that, what am i saying, me too.
Guest MzBeciko Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 im 5ft 10 i find it really hard to find clothes the cuts are always too short ¬_¬

Guest ♡ aRi C. ♡ Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 i dunno..im like 5 8 and im kinda thin but i have big hips so like the jeans i buy are so weird...if i buy a bigger size, the length is fine and the hips are fine but the thighs are tooooooo loose if i buy a smaller size, it wont close in the hip area and its perfect on my thighs but its really short. same with long sleeve shirts...they are all short.. especially the arm part.
Guest swtaznangel Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 i'm 5'5 and really skinny. When i try to look for soem pants, they are always hecka loose on me when i wear em... mayn...i hate that
Guest poopoo Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 it seems like they are made for the average HEIGHT..and i duno wat that is but its definitly not short...or too tall x__xx iM like 4'10 SO SAD and i cant find any clothess dat really fit me perfectly. i gotta go to the kids section and its NOt my style plus it dont fit me that good either cuz the clothes that i fit at the kids section its likee made for oversize kiDS? i have to find size XS in shirts so it wont look so big on me for juniors and the size small always runs out the fastestt in stores pluss jeans and pants are a pain!! hemming them ruins it..!
Guest pinkxpocky Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 i think clothes are for average height people...i'm around 5'10" and it's so hard to find long pants...it's really fustrating because everyone seems so short to me...
Guest haneul love Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 haha yeah.. tall people T_T are so lucky LOL. i'm 5'2 almost 5'3 and ALL MY JEANS ARE TOO LONG! I hate you america - _ -
Guest cyberfruit Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 Most clothes are made for average height people like for women, around 5'4 and 5'5. Jeans are made a bit longer, I think but it depends on the inseam. Standard inseams are 30 and 32". Wear 34" or longer (if you can find them). I'm 5'7 and I do have problems finding jeans because my legs are muscular but thin and my hips are semi-large. I have to find jeans that fit my hips well (most of my jeans do not, belts are nice) then find stretch because my legs are long. Then, I have to make sure they don't hang on me. It sucks sometimes.
jenn Posted February 9, 2006 Posted February 9, 2006 it would all be easier if we could custom make our clothes for cheap prices! ;D
