Helpful topic :)

Wow there's so many companies. XD Is there a translation of the audition page for TN and Fantom(http://www.fantoment.com/User/Audition/audition_info.asp)?

IF we want to send somethign through mail/e-mail..

We should send at least 1 korean song right?

Can we sing that acapella because when I recorded it with the instrumental it sounded mucky (it doesnt that great...)

Then record it.. do you think that's a good idea?

Yes, it's probably better to sing it acapella if the mixing doesn't go so well.

Especially with Voice Ripped Instrumentals...

I think Mr. Boone from Brother's Entertainment mentioned it, or maybe it was someone else.

But they would rather hear a clear acappella recording than a bad mix where you can't hear your voice very well...

To record yourself sing, could you use this microphone?

I've been using this microphone - it's good for gaming and recording is ok although you will need to find the right distance away or else it will give you feedback...but if you're serious about recording i'd dish out for something a bit better.

Oh.. thank you so much! =D

I'm going to do that instead of doing it with the instrumental.

But should all the songs be used without an instrumental?

Wouldnt that sound kind of.. eh bland?

Wow. I havent posted in this thread for like 308953489578934 years.

Anyway,

What are generally good songs to sing during an audition?

Can someone list some?

It depends, really.

You should find a song that showcases your vocal range and singing ability.

Differs from person to person.

Maybe you might want to give us a little singing clip or something so we can give you suggestions. :]

thank you love=music=life

i have one more question please.

I ve been wondering about this for a while.

ive seen in some places that said that some companies like JYP responds in 2wks. Is that true?

It depends.

Some got their reply within a few days, some, a month.

And Hankyung from SuJu [sM] said he got his reply after half a year.

So it really depends on how lucky you are, I guess. :]

Where is JI/IN Company where Bada works for it now?Another question, what will I put on the subject If I'm auditioning to SM ENTERTAINMENT via email?

Maybe email audition or something like that.

Kinda irrelevant to the question, but in case you're thinking of attaching files in the email, dont.

It will get filtered automatically.

Give them links to your singing clips and pictures. :]

i have a question.

how do you record using a mic on your computer??

You can use programs olike Audacity or Adobe Audition.

I suggest the latter.

Its much better.

Audacity is easier to use though.

Sorry, it's just that I don't know where to go to find more info.

I just get all the info that I have from their websites.

Maybe I'll start email the companies asking them for more details on auditioning?

Not sure if they will reply though...

You can try. Hah! ^^

Oh.. thank you so much! =D

Actually yes. Its better to sing acapella.

They would prefer that.

But if you want to, you can sing a few songs with instrumentals too.

I would do that. ^^

yeah, 2-5 is ok. though the best number is 2-3 i guess. just show them your range (like low song + fast song) and it should be ok. if you send in too many songs they might not listen to all of them anyways. so there´s the risk that they listen toyour weaker songs and not listen to your great songs. so just send in your 2-3 best songs ^^

yeah thats the thing.

I dont want them to see too much of my weaknesses so I'm just gonna send in two songs.

1 - pop/r&b with instrumental (alicia keys - if i aint got you)

2 - k-pop r&b acapella (jang ri in - why)

do you think thats a good choice or are those two too much alike??

This thread is really helpful.

There is something bothering me though, when you apply by mail or email, most of the time it's because you cant make up for the audition (there is no audition in your city/country) so what happen if you go through the first audition?

like on JYP if you apply by email then you only give your profil and picture, if you pass this stage, what happen next?

Yeah. Its kinda alike.

Maybe you can add in a fast song or something like that.

Just make sure its good enough.

Don't have to worry too much about weaknesses though.

They're not looking for people that are perfect and stuff.

They're just looking for people with potential. ^^

That's why they have to train you right?

it should be the same was with brosent. they´ll ask you to send in your audition material (songs, recordings, more photos) then. and if you´ve passed this they´ll arrange a meeting with you. they´ll either come to your place or invite you to theirs.
