It seems that the title of KDW's short movie changed from "Hide and Seek" to " The X"

Today & tomorrow, 30th Apr & 1st May filming site: House of Choi Champan (최참판댁/Choechampandeak), Hadong. This site was used as set for 2005 TV drama, Toji/The Land.


Fans who came today were so excited to see KDW & Ha Jung Woo and some managed to get autograph from him!

Congratulation Ha Jung Woo for the Best Actor at  2013 Baeksang Arts Awards.  And right after the award night, he shaved his head for his role as DolMuChi in Kundo: Age of the Rampant (Band of Thieves).
Also congrats to Kim Min Hee for the  well deserved Best Actress award . I was so excited when I first heard she will be 1 of the members of the “Band of Thieves”… and I was kind of disappointed when she turned it down just 2 weeks b4 the movie starts filming.

I think some of you can read what’s on the poster but for those who can’t, it's a shooting schedule for film/dramas that used this place as their shooting site (other info: directors, main cast ):

The filming location for last Monday & Tuesday (6 & 7 May): Korean Folk Village (한국민속촌) in Yongin. It's frequently used as shooting venue for many historical dramas & movies such as Moon Embracing the Sun, Jewel in the Palace, the King and the Clown etc. I'm tempted to post a pic but nah… makes me feel like a tourist information assistant rather than a KDW fan!

Kang Dong Won is known for his pretty face and tall frame and now he’s also attracting much attention for his high IQ.

On May 15, SBS’s “Midnight TV Entertainment” aired a segment where a reporter went to various schools of celebrities and looked through their files.

What caught the attention of the program viewers is his high IQ of 137 as well as outstanding grades. The file also included Kang Dong Won’s picture during grade school, which proved his handsome looks weren’t man-made.

The segment also revealed Yoon Do Hyun’s school grades and childhood photo to his embarrassment. He’s one of the emcees for “Midnight TV Entertainment.”

Actor Gang Dong-Won is "highly considering" the leading role in movie version of JIN-ROH: THE WOLF BRIGADE ("Inrang"), which will be directed by Kim Jee-Woon ("The Good, The Bad, The Weird"). JIN-ROH: THE WOLF BRIGADE is based on the 1999 anime written by Mamoru Oshii. Kim Jee-Woon & Gang Dong-Won recently collaborated on the short film "Hide & Seek".

The news is awesome. Korean sci-fi, which is rare, based on a Japanese animation feature and directed by such a competent person as Kim Jee Woon. I think this is a perfect project for someone with this otherworldly quality Kang Dong Won has. I hope this works. Korea needs more sci-fi and it can do it.

Yay, more potential projects in the pipeline for Kang Dong-won (Secret Reunion, Jeon Woochi), who’s making up for lost time with movies, movies, and more movies. Director Kim Ji-woon (I Saw the Devil, The Good, The Bad, The Weird) is working on a live-action remake of the Japanese animated film Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade, and Kang Dong-won is being courted to headline.

The two worked together on the short film Hide and Seek which is still in post-production, so re-teaming for a feature film seems like the logical next step. The film will be a remake of the 1999 Hiroyuki Okiura animated feature, which was the third film adaptation of Mamoru Oshii’s Kerberos saga manga.

Although the title Jin-Roh means “man-wolf,” it’s a dark apocalyptic post-war alternate history, not anything to do with werewolves. The story takes place in the 1960s, in an alternate universe where Germany wins WWII and occupies Japan. The lead character is a cop, a member of a heavily armed special forces unit called Kerberos (as in Cerberus, the mythological three-headed watchdog of hell). It’s a brigade that suppresses riots, and the story begins with a suicide bombing at an anti-government rally. It’s a dark political drama that’s explored through a counterintelligence war, set in the extremest of circumstances.

Count me in. I can’t wait to see how they’ll adapt the setting for the live-action film. If Kang Dong-won signs on, Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade will start shooting soon after he finishes filming his Joseon-era bandit movie Band of Thieves with Ha Jung-woo, which is in production now.
