I think she kinda forgot it’s her debut anniversary bc she asked what day is it and if it’s the day when her debut movie got released.

They gave her a bouquet, she said oh it’s a yellow roses and she thought yellow roses are a symbl of goodbye/farewell ㅋㅋㅋ

She tried this bag and asked what will people think if she used the bag with her face on it haha the staff said it’s cute but she said she’ll look like the female version of noh hongchul oppa(?)

While the staff was lighting the candles she read the comments and all she can see is ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ You can also hear the staffs are laughing 

 

She thanked the staff for working hard and for creating this king shopping and said “you all thought you wouldn’t come out, right?” she stood up to call them and introduced one by one bwahahaha

@sarangashia @nancy131 actually it was arranged for more than a week however even until saturday they still lacked 70.000 won. Well yes, they had birthday event, seoul award event, christmas event, and year end event. She has small group of fans but I think she has a lot of casual fans and they all appreciate her acting and her works. She didn't name herself the queen of genre, it was given by the public.

And many women seems to like her fashion style. A+G is not the first fashion brand who got sold out thanks to her, when she modeled for Guess jeans women lined up in department stores to buy it and it was sold out instantly (there was news articles about it and when the official jacket for pyeongchang olympic was sold out with people lining up at department stores, journalist mentioned about it, they said the last time people lining up at department stores was when AJ modeleed for Guess jeans).

 

I hope an entertainment program or talk show would escort her as an MC. She's really good. Since YooJaeSuk left Infinity Challenge, can a PD reunite AJ and him in a tv prog. 

 

The cake is so pretty. Her fans have good taste.

I actually saw this interview getting an attention from instiz. This is quite relevant in korea bc of what is happening right now. And btw in the vlive she thanked the ceo of king ent and staffs for taking good care of actresses like her since it’s hard to manage actress in a male-dominated society. I hope AJ will get her wish to act on a feminist project the soonest. It’s her dream way back 2004 before she even got famous, it’s already a long overdue ;((

 

Kim AJoong “Woman of Dignity is impressive, I’d like to work with actresses”

 

What does it mean to be a one-top actress in Korea? Male-oriented movies flood in and women's roles are merely consumed. Of course there are also works starring actresses. However most results are not as satisfactory as expected. 

 

Kim AJoong delivered her thoughts on the male-centered content entertainment, “this too shall pass”

 

“Male-centered films... is definitely a trend and it will pass someday. I still have the desire to pursue a light/melodrama genres. There are still many people who are uncomfortable with male-oriented work. I think there's a piece out there that allows women to do things on their own.”

 

In the TVN hit drama <Live Up To Your Name> she played the role of Choi Yeonkyung as a thoracic surgeon. It is a confident character with a strong professional spirit. However the romance between the main characters caught the spotlight. The degree of concentration on her character as a thoracic surgeon was relatively low. 

 

“The character of HeoIm was bound to stand out, it was a drama that started from him. So I didn't feel unfair for those responses. Starting at HeoIm, I created a female character and Choi Yeonkyung only played a little functional role. What’s unfortunate was that there was a setup to experience the Imjin War and Choi Yeonkyung needed to be separated with HeoIm to make the romance more poignant so I could not show the professional part of Choi Yeonkyung in depth. I made a lot of medical preparations to play the role of Choi Yeonkyung... I felt sorry, I wanted to play the role of a doctor again next time.”

Although she is interested in all genres, Kim AJoong prefers an independent character. She seeks a role that is far from that of typical female characters. She precisely analyzed the female character in her works, saying "The nuisance-female character must be removed."

 

“People who make mistakes and do not have any reflection or correction due to their lack of rational judgment and emotional swings are a nuisance. If you reflect on your mistakes and correct them, you don't become an inconvenience. And the reason why there are female characters who are a nuisance is because the male character must solve something. Such a female character should be eliminated. Maybe if I ask a male actor about a female character that is a nuisance he would answer the same thing. Is it necessary to make a woman indecisive? It never gets better. If there is an event where a wise judgment can be reached, couldn't it be that both gender are in control?”

 

Kim AJoong said “I tried not to be a nuisance but if I had to play such character I’ll act it with authenticity.”

 

“I've been a little frustrating in the drama <Sign>, 100% what was not a nuisance is Jung Hyein from the drama <Wanted> I lost my child enough to want to be able to do it alone, but it was an excellent role to play."

 

“I think things have changed a little lately. It is a good thing” she said referring to JTBC drama <Woman of Dignity>.  

 

“I have not seen everything, but I was impressed with <Woman of Dignity>. The actresses’ pace were dominant. It would be great to be in a production with actresses like that. When actresses meet each other, they are often promoted where they fight each other or rumors are made. Surprisingly the actresses have a large circle of dishes(?)(laughs). I get along well with all the actresses I worked with.”

 

Listening to Kim AJoong I can guess why she is leading the box office in every single work she plays. As an actor she takes a holistic view of the work rather than just focusing on acting. Kim AJoong said “I study a lot the scenario. A good work results from efforts rather than a ‘good taste/sense’. No book gives you the know-how to choose a good script but there are books that tells you how to write and direct a good work. I don’t wish to become a writer or director but I want to study as a person who can create a good piece of work by participating in it.”

 

“Since my debut up until now, there are still some unfortunate and inexperienced parts but I think I've done well. Of course, I didn’t do anything good to make up for the disappointments (laughs). I have chosen my works well and I do not think it will go wrong.”

her favourite scene in "Punch" and mine too

i became her fan after LUTYN but tbh i rewatched "Punch" the most,such a good work with excellent plot and acting
