Jung Yumi and Ryu Seung Bom were honored in Busan ... so happy for them ... both are amazing actors! @ Daum more goodies : Box office, Sept. 22 – Oct. 4 "The Crucible" tops the charts and raises voices of protest The two weeks lasting from Sept. 22 to Oct. 4 were witness to a remarkable box office phenomenon in the form of the film "The Crucible". Based on a shocking real-life incident in which young students at a school for the deaf were sexually assaulted by their teacher and principal, the film has outraged and mobilized viewers, who are demanding that justice be served and new laws be passed to protect vulnerable children. The popular phenomenon surrounding the film, including extensive coverage by the news media, has caused many to take note of the power and influence of the film medium. The case was not unknown before -- in fact the film is based on a book by Gong Ji-young, one of Korea's best known novelists -- but the strong acting and powerful execution of the film has caused sensational word of mouth among viewers. In its first two weeks on release the film has sold over 2.7 million tickets, and given the fact that its box office was considerably higher in its second weekend as opposed to its first, "The Crucible" is expected to develop into one of the year's highest grossing films. the girl who!
aigoo, more good news .... so happy for Yumi unnie Movie “Crucible” is still 1st place for the 4th consecutive week! The movie’s total cumulative ticket sales reports close to 1.5million while “Fighting Spirit” bumped up to third with approximately 1.3million total sales. the girl who!
Jung Yumi glams up for the magazines It’s shoots like this one for Cosmopolitan that make me think back to Que Sera Sera, when Jung Yumi’s character is brought to a store for her makeover moment, and the sales associate declares that she’s a “cute” type and dresses her like an overgrown child…and Lee Kyu-han steps in and declares that no, she’s actually quite sexy, and then…suddenly she’s a whole new person. It’s the complete opposite from her most recent project, that’s for sure; Jung plays a social worker in The Crucible, the film based on real-life rape and sexual assault cases at a school for the deaf. It has met with tremendous response, both at home and abroad, and naturally calls for a more sober, toned-down image than this one. Or the one below, which comes from last month’s L’Officiel Hommes, where she takes on a look that’s more boyish, but similarly glam. Jung Yumi is definitely a chameleon — both in her appearance, and her acting. (Although it should be noted that she’s not so much of one that one should confuse her with the actress in Thousand Day Promise, who’s a different Jung Yumi entirely.)
