The Official Selection of the 2021 Cannes Film Festival has been announced.

Festival president Pierre Lescure and general delegate Thierry Frémaux revealed the line-up at a press conference at the Normandie Cinema in Paris.

 

 which will see the titles get their own red carpet screenings in the Debussy theatre.

He also revealed that the Un Certain Regard section is being returned to its original focus for young and experimental cinema.

This year’s edition runs July 6-17 and is set to be held as a physical event after the 2020 festival was cancelled due to Covid-19.

As previously announced, Leos Carax’s musical film Annette is set to open the festival. Spike Lee will preside over the jury.

Kim Nam-Gil cast in SBS drama “Those Who Read Hearts of Evil”

Kim Nam-Gil is cast for the lead role in SBS drama series “Those Who Read Hearts of Evil” (literal title). The drama series is based on nonfiction novel “Akui Maeumeul Ilneun Jadeul” by criminal profiler Kwon Il-Yong & writer Go Na-Moo. Kim Nam-Gil will play Song Ha-Young. He works as criminal profiler to catch serial killers. Casting is underway for other roles in the drama series. As soon as casting is finished, filming is expected to begin.

SBS' new drama 'Readers of the Mind of Evil' is a crime thriller about profilers struggling to read the minds of serial killers at the peak of evil. It is based on a novel of the same name written in 2017. Actor Kim Nam-gil decided to appear in 'Those who read the minds of evil', and is expected to make another big mark in the modifier of 'actress who sees and believes'.

 

 

Kim Nam-gil takes on the role of Song Ha-young, a profiler who digs deeper into people than anyone else and digs up the case. As well as cool charisma, he plans to lead a serial killer tracker full of tension by showing heavy acting breathing.
