This thread was here since Jan 2007???? OMG OMG!!!! I was looking for this thread and since I coudn't find it, I many times thought of creating it by myself...but you know my knowledge over this drama is not enough so...I was bewildered...

Isn't this drama awesome???? I liked the original story written by Yamazaki Toyoko long time ago. It often showed in drama in Japan. I found the Korean version more passionate and more clear cut than the original Japanese version. It contains all kinds of human's emotion; jealous, envious, ambition, desire, pure philosophy towards medical/human life, love, friendship etc. But after Jang Joon-Hyuk managed to succeed the position of the chief surgeon, he dramatically changes his attitude to a very arrogant way. It is too obvious in Korean version. Japanese version is not as clear as that.

Also, Dr Satomi (the physician, the good heart one) is too sentimental in Korean version, I feel. Maybe the personality itself is different in Korean version. Dr Satomi is a sincere doctor who would conern on sanctity of life more than anybody else. His pure enthusiasm towards medicine is huge that everybody canot resist to pays a hightest respect. His heart is unbelievably warm, but at the same time he is a doctor so he does not show a sentimental attitude. But Korean version, his behavior is too sentimental, I find. For example, when he had to deal with the fatal diseased girl, as a doctor, he is not supposed to show his crying face or sad face in front of the patient, I guess. Even how seriously desperate for her life...doctors should show the normal face even his heart had been filled with grief. I guess some of the parts are differently described because of the cultural difference between Japan and Korea. Korean ppl probably prefer the expressions with black and white while Japanese prefer the expressions with more sensitivities. (which is normally very blur...). I want to write more about small episodes but maybe I will write it some other time. ^^

All the actors are so skillful!!!! I didn't know there are as many as those terrific middle aged or old aged actors in Korea!!!!!!

ya^ i think there is a difference in culture and hence it reflect in the script editing .so we might be seeing the same set of characters but ..it varies in the way the character is protrayed in both jdrama and kdrama version . Dr Satomi was so much more enthusiasm into his passion for medicine . and the true value of a doctor . Dr Choi here is more subtle ...in demonstrating that ...

2008년 방송계 키워드 중 하나는 전문직 드라마다.

올해도 많은 전문직 드라마가 방송을 앞두고 있다. 그렇다면 20~30대 시청자들이 다시 보고 싶어하는 국내 전문직 드라마에는 어떤 것들이 있을까?

라이프스타일채널 올리브(O’live)가 기무라 타쿠야 주연의 항공 드라마 '굿럭'(Good Luck) 국내 첫 방송을 기념해 지난 2007년 12월 24일부터 올해 1월 2일까지 10일 동안 해당 홈페이지에서 20~30대 남녀 3,674명(남자 1,156명/여자2,518명)에게 전문직 드라마에 관련한 설문조사를 진행했다.

그 결과 다시 보고싶은 국내 전문직 드라마 1위는 외과병동을 배경으로 한 '하얀거탑'(52%,1918명)이, 2위는 파티쉐가 주인공이었던 '내 이름은 김삼순'(38%,1399명)이 차지했다. '하얀거탑'은 남자 응답자의 전폭적인 지지를 받았으며(남자58%) '내 이름은 김삼순'은 여자 응답자의 높은 지지를 얻었다(여자42%).

한편 과반수에 가까운 49%(1,785명)가 올 봄 방송 예정인 전문직 드라마 중에서 허영만 작가의 만화를 원작으로 한 ‘식객’이 가장 기대된다고 응답했다.

응답자들이 뽑은 다시 보고싶은 일본 전문직 드라마 1, 2위에는 검사드라마 '히어로'(37%,1353명)와 파일럿, 정비사, 승무원의 일과 사랑이야기를 다룬 '굿럭'(30%,1107명)이 선정됐다.

I didn't know that somebody has replied to me. I should have come here earlier. Sorry for my late response. There were some harassing behavior to me on net...(I hope the hackers won’t disturb me anymore...I hope they understand the fact that as they disturb me more, I have no choice but I have to vanish completely from the net). I wanted to come to soompi and write many posts…but I couldn’t. (sorry this is just my personal matter but it annoys me too much....so)

Oh yeah, Japanese audience respond to the korean drama very well. I mean there are certain citizen here who love Kdrama as if they have never encountered such greatest culture in their life before (I'm one of them haha). But kdramas are still not authroized to everybody here yet. This "white tower" is airing now on a satelite channel. I hope it will be aired in general channel soon.

Yeah, there are lots of points I realized the cultural difference on how to describe the personalities and story. The broad plot is the same, of course, but the details are a bit different.

1) Dr Jan joo hyeok’s ambitions to take the next chief surgeon position was huge and he could do anything to climb up the corporate ladder and his mentality is far from the medicine(?) but more like a politician and his usual behavior/talk are really arrogant most of the time….but actually in the story he is a very kind son. He shows a really great filial devotion to his mother. He’s from a rural area’s poor family with only mother. It is his favorite time when he sends money once a month to his mother who lives far away. When he is with his mother, he is just a kind, modest and warm hearted man. Unfortunately Korean version doesn’t describe his real face, I think.

2) Dr Jan joo hyok’s marriage is just one of his avenues to climb up the ladder. (she is a daughter of a rich obstetrician and gynecologist, and this father in law loves Jan joo hyeok so much – well joo hyok for him is some kind of an object to utilize to fulfill his ambition too though… Dr Jan joo hyeok pretends as if he loves his wife but actually it is just a façade. (his wife is not very smart so she always being lied by him. He has the mistress, Kang hee jae, when being with her, he becomes like a little boy. He likes her and trust her a lot. Dr Jan joo hyeok is not able to show his real face to others but he can to only two persons in this world, that is his mother and Kang hee jae. In Japanese version, Kang hee jae used to be a medical student long time ago but now she runs a night club (so she has knowledge in medicine so that she technically understands well what he is doing).

Actually in the original story, her mother is also a mistress so probably he has a sympathy or some kind of belief about the marriage and to have a second wife. She is a capable woman and understands Jan joo hyok very well and being a real good adviser all the time. Japanese version, there are more scenes to spend sweet times with her. I guess it is immoral to have a second wife in Korea, so probably it has been omitted? Instead, Korean version describes as if Dr Jan joon hyeok likes his wife as well (it’s hard to read the real heart of Dr Jan joon hyeok though. But Korean version, it seems like the relationship of them is not just a façade. In Japanese version, Wakamura Mayumi acted really really well as his dumb and cheerful wife. She is just a spoiled daughter of a rich doctor. She is lazy and only takes life as something that is supposed to enjoy as much as possible. She has no interests on her husband’s promotion actually. She just enjoys luxurious life.

3) The chief of surgery,　Lee Ju Wan 's daughter actually fall in love with Choi do young even he is a married man in Japanese version. But as the same reason, I guess Korean ppl believe Confucianism spirit, so it is immoral to have this kind of relationship, I think, that’s why she and Dr Choi do young’s relationship is described as a friendship.

4) But instead, there is more than friendship feeling between Dr Noh minuk and Lee yonjin in Korean version. In Japanese version, Dr Noh is not described that well. He is just a chessman for Dr Lee Ju Wan for the mean to disturb the young and arrogant surgeon. His strongest wish was not to let Jan joon hyeok takes his position after his retirement, so the disturbance object could be anybody. But in Korean version, Noh minguk is described as such a talented and sincere man. His presence makes the drama more interesting.

5) The most striking scene is the final day of Dr Lee Ju wan’s general round visit to the patients. That moment is to prove who stays on top in the hospital, so that “the round visit” means important in Japan (even it seems so silly. We call it as "Daimyo Gyouretsu (daimyo's procession). But probably in Korea, it is not that important. So when he comes out from the elevator there are only one or two doctors waiting for him, that moment is the most humiliated moment in Japan. It is like you get water bucket falling from the sky on your birthday or something….

But in Korean version, the most humiliation showed after his retirement. Dr Jan joon hyeok visits Lee ju wan’s house and asks for the help. And after he’s gone back, his daughter opens his gift. It was an expensive bottle of whisky but that was a gift from some pharmaceutical company for Dr Jan joon hyeok. There was a message card inside the gift said “to Dr Jan joon hyeok”. It was a huge humiliation.

There are many more difference in Japanese and Korean version.

6) I found Korean ppl more down to earth. Coz when Dr Jan joon hyeok, won, the opponent Dr said congratulations by phone even there are huge bitterness in his feeling. He was a real gentleman. Dr Lee Ju wan seems frustrated and angry but he was just sitting in his room watching the desk while Ishizaka Kouji, (Japanese drama) kicked the flowers in the garden showed his cheap frustrated feeling.

7) There are more detailed descriptions in Japanese version about the young doctor and a nurse, Yanagihara and nurse Kameyama who later become the most important people in the trial. These two people are more interestingly described in Japanese version. I guess some of you have already seen the Japanese version. I haven’t finished the Korean version yet, but all the doctors are really wonderfully acted. I personally like Dr Noh a lot.

What you have wirtten there and here are so well described and I agree with you. I have same taste with you, probably. I am also a big fan of Pak Shin Nya (spelling probably not right). He is .....what to say....so sexy....has sense of humor, intelligent, funny, cute, gentleman, mature....ok let's talk about war of maney on the other thread!!!

I just finished viewing the epi 11. Gee it gets more and more "gunky". (I don't know exactly how to express this situation in English. In Japanese we say "dorodoro suru" (gets more and more gunky /slimy in terms of the human's emotion and relationship). Ew! I don't like that! I hope doctors just get back to their main work. But this "White Tower" is the story to describe everything about human's emotion esp the sleazy?ugly part. It is fun to see the sillly doctor being busily engaged about the business to cover up his stupid mistake with seniors. (everybody is doing this business for the acuiqsition of his own concession..it makes me laugh!!)

I double confirmed that Dr Choi (Dr Satomi) is not the person we love and admire from the original story.... He was the most sinere doctor of all time. In Korean version, as Shirely said, his personality is portrayed subtle. I think he doesn't know what he is doing. (I mean seems like Dr Choi doesn't know and script writer also doesn't know his personality^^; or is it the way to express his deep thoughts??? it could not conveyed enought to the audiences....unfortunately). He often puzzled by between the two things. He is kind of the person to irritate people. Probably Korean script writer didn't understand enough on Dr Satomi's personality and the way of thinking. (shoot...I should have gone to Korea and explained what he is like more clearly before she/he has started to write this drama script) haha.

I don't know anything about where to download this drama. It is kind of the new style of human drama in Korea, I think. As far as I know, Korean dramas' main stream was/is Love stories, right?

Synopsis

As Korean dramas enter the new millennium, it is impossible to deny that the genre of the “mini series” is at a crisis. Audiences have long since turned away from TV dramas, jaded by the same old stereotypical characters, farfetched storylines, and the formulaic “pairing off” of male and female characters. Over the years, the mini series has even devolved to the level of a mere “time killer.” This can be seen as a recurrence of the crisis that American TV shows faced in the late eighties for the same reasons. Romantic comedies, increasingly concerned with reproducing the same styles and patterns, were no longer able to captivate audiences. Fortunately, two shows that appeared in the 1990s effectively put an end to this slump: ER and N.Y.P.D. Blue. These two shows redefined the paradigm for TV dramas. By offering a level of realism reminiscent of documentaries and populating their vividly realistic settings with ensemble casts of true-to-life characters, they succeeded in drawing the masses back in front of the TV. Both shows have amply stood the test of time: they remain on the air to this day, more than ten years after they first debuted. The success and longevity of these shows demonstrate the fact that the public can no longer be won over by “fake” stories, and at the same time suggest the only alternative for rescuing Korean TV dramas from the mire of mediocrity. Brilliant surgeon Jang Jun-hyeok is an associate professor in the Department of

Surgery at Myeongin University. With his unsurpassed skill and cool judgment, he

saves a patient who had been on the brink of death due to another doctor’s error.

Still, chief of surgery Professor Lee Ju-wan regards the ever-confident Jun-hyeok

with a disapproving eye.

Jun-hyeok’s school friend, Associate Professor Choi Do-yeong, comes across a

rare case of early-stage pancreatic cancer and transfers the patient to Jun-hyeok.

Jun-hyeok becomes excited about performing the unusual procedure, but finds

himself faced with a choice when he discovers that the powerful deputy chief of the

hospital, Wu Yong-gil, has made an incorrect diagnosis...

Jun-hyeok and Do-yeong secretly operate on the patient who was misdiagnosed by

Professor Wu Yong-gil, but is discovered by the wily Wu. Jun-hyeok attempts to

cover up his illicit operation by lying that Wu’s initial diagnosis was correct, but he

encounters opposition from the honest Do-yeong.

Meanwhile, Professor Lee Ju-wan, who has always been disapproving of Jun-

hyeok, conspires with Professor Wu to send Jun-hyeok to a hospital in the

countryside by using the surgery as a pretext...

Professor Wu declares Jun-hyeok’s gift of a painting as an attempt at bribery and

sets out to transfer Jun-hyeok to a rural hospital. If he is transferred, all of Jun-

hyeok’s efforts thus far will have been in vain. Alarmed, Jun-hyeok goes to his

father-in-law, Min Chung-sik, for aid.

Meanwhile, Professor Lee tells Jun-hyeok not to worry since the transfer is only a

temporary measure, and instructs him to prepare for the transition as scheduled...

Jun-hyeok discovers the identity of the man Professor Lee is grooming as his

successor: Noh Min-guk. Min-guk is Lee Ju-wan’s alumnus and a professor at

Johns Hopkins University. Jun-hyeok becomes nervous, sensing that the man he

will be competing against is a formidable opponent.

Even amid his preoccupation with becoming the next chief of surgery, Jun-hyeok

ends up scrubbing in with Professor Lee on an extensive procedure to

simultaneously transplant the liver, pancreas, and kidney...

As a result of Professor Lee’s scheme, Min-guk ends up taking the older man’s

place in the OR. In an atmosphere of breathless tension, Min-guk and Jun-hyeok

begin the surgery. But the two rivals, each of whom considers himself the best in

the field, clashes constantly over the order and method of the procedure.

Professor Lee, who has been watching from the observation room, stresses that he

is in charge of the operation and orders the procedure to be performed according to

Min-guk’s directions. Jun-hyeok, though shocked, removes his gloves and steps

back.

Meanwhile, Do-yeong, who is doing all he can to save Jin-ju, visits Professor Oh

Gyeong-hwan for a consultation, but is distressed by the fact that the cancer has

already progressed to a dangerous degree.

Pathology professor Oh Gyeong-hwan volunteers to head the election committee in

order to ensure that the election for the next chief of surgery proceeds fairly.

Professor Lee secretly cheers at the development, since Professor Oh disapproves

of Jun-hyeok, but Professor Wu cannot help feeing bitter.

Made uneasy by Professor Oh’s appointment to the head of the election committee,

Jun-hyeok pays Do-yeong an unexpected visit. Jun-hyeok asks the surprised Do-

yeong to arrange a meeting with Professor Oh, since he needs the latter’s help to

become the chief of surgery. But Do-yeong refuses, saying that he cannot help Jun-

hyeok in such a self-serving endeavor...

Jang Jun-hyeok, Noh Min-guk, and Mun Sang-myeong are named as candidates for

the next chief of surgery. With Professor Oh helming the election committee, voting

begins in earnest. At that moment, Professor Lee raises his hand. Declaring that he

cannot choose among two of his students and Noh Min-guk, he gives up his vote

and exits the room. The less knowing of the department heads nod their heads in

admiring approval.

Jun-hyeok, who is in the auditorium busily preparing for the symposium, is

flabbergasted when Professor Lee suddenly appears and declares that he has

waived his vote. Later on, Lee approaches Jun-hyeok as he waits to deliver his

lecture and tells the younger man not to be offended by his decision to give up his

vote. At that very moment, Geon-ha rushes in to deliver the results of the vote...

Jun-hyeok visits Min-guk in his hotel room. Throwing away his pride, he kneels

before Min-guk and entreats his rival to withdraw from the race. At that moment,

Professor Oh Nam-gi comes to Min-guk’s room, and the startled Jun-hyeok hastily

leaves the scene.

When Professor Lee learns that Jun-hyeok has been to see Min-guk, he informs

Professor Wu Yong-gil, thus exacerbating the situation. Angered by Jun-hyeok’s

irresponsible act, Wu turns his back on him.

Meanwhile, Kwon Sun-il comes to see Do-yeong, at the insistence of his wife. Do-

yeong begins to run various tests on Sun-il as if he were any other patient.

Suspecting Sun-il of having pancreatic cancer, Do-yeong refers him to Jun-hyeok,

who remarks that he will operate on Sun-il before the international surgical

conference in Jeju. Do-yeong suggests that Jun-hyeok perform a lung biopsy before

the operation, but Jun-hyeok, who is preoccupied by his preparations for the

conference, does not heed the advice.

Meanwhile, Min-guk, who has lost the election for the chief of surgery, calmly

leaves Korea...

At the international surgical conference in Jeju, Jun-hyeok tries his utmost to perform

successful surgery on the wife of the international surgical association’s chairman.

However, due to the unseen machinations of Oh Nam-gi, who had supported Min-

guk, Jun-hyeok finds himself unable to perform the operation.

Meanwhile, Dong-il, who has taken on Jun-hyeok’s post-op patient as his very first

patient, begins to grow uneasy when the patient in question begins to display

strange symptoms...

Just as he successfully completes the operation on the wife of the international

surgical association’s chairman, Jun-hyeok receives the news that his post-op

patient Kwon Sun-il has died. Sensing the gravity of the situation, Jun-hyeok

requests a detailed inquiry into what happened.

Sun-il’s wife, Sun-gi, and other family members wail in grief around the bed on

which Sun-il lies with a white sheet covering his body. Unable to watch the

heartbreaking scene, Dong-il runs down the stairs and bursts into tears.

Sun-il’s wife and Jun-hyeok come face to face in the hallway of the courthouse.

Jun-hyeok’s attorney, Yun, patronizes the plaintiff’s attorney by patting him on the

shoulder, and Sun-il’s wife directs an anxious gaze toward Jun-hyeok and

company.

Yun speculates that the plaintiff’s side will summon Oh Gyeong-hwan, Yeom Dong-

il, and Choi Do-yeong as witnesses, which plunges Jun-hyeok into nervous

apprehension.

Meanwhile, the plaintiff’s attorney, Kim Hun, visits Do-yeong at work...

Do-yeong barges into Kim Hun’s office to prevent the lawsuit from being dropped.

Sun-il’s wife, after witnessing the exchange, decides not to sign the settlement

papers. Jun-hyeok’s legal team, gathered in the office of the hospital’s deputy chief,

struggle to come up with a countermove. They inform Lee Ju-wan that his daughter

appears to be helping the plaintiff’s side.

Jun-hyeok decides to try and persuade Do-yeong’s wife rather than Do-yeong

himself, who refuses to listen. While Do-yeong is away from home, Jun-hyeok goes

to see his wife and entreats her aid. Meanwhile, Wu Yong-gil calls out Professor

Lee Ju-wan and takes issue with his daughter Yun-jin’s actions...

After his verbal battle in court, Jun-hyeok runs into Lee Ju-wan in the hallway

outside the courtroom. Unable to pass him by, he engages Lee in a psychological

confrontation. Lee, who has pledged to lend the patient both material and moral aid,

prepares meticulously for the trial, even explaining to attorney Kim Hun the daily

routines of a chief of a university hospital.

Do-yeong and Wu Yong-gil watch the operation from the observation room. Yong-gil

tries to change Do-yeong’s mind by stressing Jun-hyeok’s indispensable value to

the hospital. Do-yeong divines Yong-gil’s intention, but squarely voices his own

beliefs...

When Jun-hyeok continues to perjure himself in court, Do-yeong jumps to his feet

and cries out Jun-hyeok’s name in implicit accusation. However, Jun-hyeok carries

on without a single sign of perturbation. Sun-il’s wife, who has also been watching

the trial, becomes likewise enraged at Jun-hyeok’s lies and tries to object, but the

judge only issues ineffectual warnings...

Meanwhile, Professor Oh Nam-gi calls Jun-hyeok in and informs him that the

chairman of the International Surgical Association wishes to recruit him for a

proposed Northeast Asian hub hospital, which the American Medical Center is

planning to build in Songdo. Jun-hyeok feels his heart soaring at the news.

Wu Yong-gil learns that Jun-hyeok is planning to leave Myeongin University Hospital

for an even bigger hospital. To teach Jun-hyeok a lesson for pursuing his transfer

plans in secret, Wu goes to see Lee Ju-wan, who is friends with the chairman of

the International Surgical Association.

Meanwhile, Do-yeong, who has quit his job, seeks out a friend who works at a

different university hospital. He hands his friend his resume and asks after a

position, but is disappointed by the latter’s reluctant reply...

When nurse Yu Mi-ra takes the witness stand and swears to tell the whole truth,

Jun-hyeok watches her with apprehension. Surprised by her unexpected

appearance in court, the members of the audience focus on her testimony. Recalling

Jun-hyeok’s visit with the late patient just prior to his surgery, Mi-ra testifies that

there was no mention of the cancer spreading to the lungs.

The new testimony overturns the flow of the trial. Jun-hyeok’s attorney works on

finding a witness to back up his client’s testimony, and Jun-hyeok remembers Ham

Min-seung, the head of the Medical Center...

The tides of the trial are turned once more by Dong-il’s surprise testimony and both

sides devote themselves to procuring new evidence. Kim Hun tells Dong-il to lay low

for a while since Jun-hyeok’s party may try to exert pressure on him; in response,

Do-yeong takes Dong-il to his own home. Kim Hun learns from Mi-ra that medical

students were in attendance during Jun-hyeok’s visit with the patient and requests

that the students’ reports be held as evidence. Meanwhile, while performing

surgery, Jun-hyeok feels an acute pain in his stomach and falls to the floor...

Sensing that the people around him are hiding something from him, Jun-hyeok goes

to Do-yeong’s cancer center in the middle of the night and asks him to perform some

tests. While carefully watching the monitor showing the images of the test, Do-yeong’

s gaze is riveted to a single spot on the screen. He calls Professor Hong Sang-il to

find out the facts...

Face to face with Hong Sang-il, Do-yeong demands to know who will be performing

the procedure. Sang-il confesses to being apprehensive about performing the

surgery himself. Do-yeong goes straight from his meeting with Sang-il to see Wu

Yong-gil. They both agree that Jun-hyeok’s operation should be performed by Chief

of Surgery Lee Ju-wan.

As the pain in his abdomen grows increasingly intense, Jun-hyeok calls Do-yeong

in and tells the latter that he knows his condition is biliary tract cancer. Do-yeong

tries to fend him off with lies, but Jun-hyeok asks to see the test results and films,

so that he can have time to prepare himself. Finally learning the entire truth, Jun-

hyeok sits and gazes at the OR from the observation room. His eyes brim with tears

at the recollection of all the procedures he performed there.

Later, his condition having worsened, Jun-hyeok fails to recognize even the medical

staff around him and lapses into delirium...

My favorite drama so far. White Tower is so tense, full of emotions. At the beginning I was so confused, as it doesn't seem like the regular medical drama, where most of the story involves the doctors, patients, and the diseases. White Tower, instead, delivers a new point of view and reveals the darker side of a doctor's profession.

Kim Myung Min's acting is superb. His portrayal of Jang Jun Hyuk is convincing and the character just comes alive. He should get a best actor award (or has he already?)

Anyhow, White Tower is definitely a recommendable drama of 2007!

White Tower is my pick for #1 drama of 2007 too, I love it; KMM's performance deserves a standing ovation.

Yes, YooMiRi, I had the same impression when I first saw/read this story. But I guess it is the reality in Japan or medical field in general????

ahhh....I saw the epi11 last night....geez.....but it's so funny that the doctors are really engaged in the plot more and more. poor young doctors.....

Zaizen, (Dr Jan Joon Hyeok) asked the young doctors "You said last night that you will be (all) in on the same boat with me?, RIGHT" :fury: lol...... and then they had no other choiced and nodded....hahahaha

"White Tower" is such a fantastic drama. No wonder it was voted the Number One TV Drama for 2007. I am very pleased to have watched it. Highly recommended!

Oh~ ...It's so sad nobody writes anything on this thread. It seems like nobody is watching this drama? I hope more and more people would view the drama. It is a really interesting drama, I tell you.

I watched Epi 14 recently.

Most of the contents of this epis is in the court scene. It is getting more and more interesting.

There is Jan Joon Hyeok’s girl friend, Kang Hee Jae, the hostess of the bar. (she is a mistress of his) who understands JJH well. In Japanese version, there are more exposure of her (Kuroki Hitomi was doing this role) while Korean version has only few. But this time she gives him really good words. She said

“Thanks for calling me Hee Jae”. If there are somebody who call you by your first name, that is someone who cares you earnestly. You are about to crime up the corporate ladder so all the people around you may call you Mr Jang. But remember those who still call you by your first name, those ppl are only the people who really care about you”.

Ironically in the last scene of the court room, at Jan Joon Hyeok’s testimony, he said many lies. At that time, ironically Dr Choi Do Young aptly called him by his first name, "Joon Hyeok!!!" It tells us there are only two people care about Jan Joon Hyeok in this world, his girl friend, Kan Hee Jae and Dr Choi.

There is one interesting comparison between his wife and his mistress. His simple and idiot wife was asked why you have been staying in home all day? She answered

“Oh I am too embarrassed to go to the court but I feel guilty to go out and play also.”

She’s very honest but this person is portrayed as a simple person who only cares about herself.
