You're Prettyish/you're Not Ugly

If someone said that to me I'd assume that they think I'm average looking and there's nothing THAT AMAZING about my looks.

However, if I knew their character and I knew their tendency to "sugar-coat" things, then I'd take that as being called "ugly/average" but they're just too "nice" to tell it to me straight.

heck i'd be at least somewhat flattered if someone said that to me....haha. b/c it means ur above average. so lets jsut focus on the positive

lol i agree with the person above, i got a " you're pretty for a chinese"before from a friend, i wasn't sure if that was a compliment or not haha
