Lee Seung Gi’s Agency Makes Clarification Regarding Unofficial Event Scheduled Before His Concert

 

Lee Seung Gi’s agency has responded to reports regarding an unofficial event that was scheduled to take place ahead of his Atlanta concert.

 

Recently on August 30, Lee Seung Gi held his concert at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Center in Atlanta. A local Korean news outlet reported that ahead of his concert, Lee Seung Gi canceled his scheduled visit to a restaurant that sponsored the concert.

 

In response to the report, Lee Seung Gi’s agency Humanmade clarified by explaining a misunderstanding that took place, causing his visit to the restaurant to be revealed to the public. They explained, “Although there was a verbal agreement to take a photo with the employees, it was advertised on social media like an event.”

 

They further clarified, “On the way to Atlanta from Los Angeles, turbulence caused shaking, so it was 10 p.m. by the time [Lee Seung Gi] arrived, and it was past 10:30 p.m. when he reached his hotel. The agency placed importance of the artist’s physical condition.”

 

The agency added, “We asked for understanding from related personnel as issues with [Lee Seung Gi’s] performance could arise if he overdid it by going to the restaurant. If an event or fan meeting were promised with the restaurant, he would have attended no matter what regardless of his state. However, the concert was the most important scheduled activity, and we thought that the guests attending the concert should come first.”

 

Previously in May, Lee Seung Gi kicked off his “The Dreamer’s Dream – Chapter 2” tour. During the U.S. leg of his tour, he performed in Los Angeles on August 26 and Atlanta on August 30. Although a concert was scheduled for New Jersey, the event was canceled due to issues from the venue’s side

Lee Seung Gi’s agency has refuted recent allegations made against the artist.

On September 4, the agency released the following statement:

Hello. This is HUMANMADE.

This is our position regarding our artist Lee Seung Gi’s concert in the United States.

First, we would like to inform you about the fan service controversy. HUMANMADE and Lee Seung Gi never agreed to any form of fan meeting being held at the restaurant. The relationship of the restaurant [being a] sponsor was carried out by a local performance agency. Moreover, we are completely unaware of the details of the contract between them, and we would like to inform you that the artist and our agency have absolutely nothing to do with it, especially in the financial aspect.

We express our regret that [reports] maliciously tried to damage the artist by labeling some of the staff and their acquaintances who were at the restaurant on that day as those who represent all Koreans living in the United States.

Lee Seung Gi is always deeply grateful to fans who come to his concerts and fans who always show interest and support him. Our agency and Lee Seung Gi will continue to do our best to prevent any misunderstandings with fans. Thank you.

After first going public with their relationship in May 2021, Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In held their private wedding ceremony on April 7 with many stars in attendance. Shortly after the ceremony, the agencies of both stars denied rumors of pregnancy.
