New Marley Coffee CF to Air Tomorrow, 4/15 KST

Seung Gi’s new Marley Coffee CF that we got a sneak peek of a few weeks ago is finally completed and scheduled to air tomorrow (night). This is from a public post on Facebook and quite honestly, it’s a bit confusing. I’m translating it as it is written:

Finally starting tomorrow on Wednesday

Marley Coffee’s CF will air on public TV SBS (‘Angry Mom’ MBC Episode 2 included) and on cable TV, 4 channels (tvN, OCN, CGV, Mnet)

It will start with ‘Angry Mom’. (What does this mean? This drama airs on MBC every Wed/Thurs at 10pm), will we see it before it/during it? [For those who don’t watch ‘Angry Mom’, scenes were filmed at Itaewon’s Marley Coffee for Episode 2, which aired on March 19th KST]

The CF will last for 15 seconds while the online version will last for 30 seconds.

It will air 25 times on public TV/On cable TV, it will air 423 times. 

The CF is planned to air until May. With 2 versions, in April, only one version will be broadcasted. 
In the future, we also plan to reveal the “making of” film.

Love Forecast DVD to Be Released on April 23rd

The Official Airen Fanclub tweeted news about the official Love Forecast DVD being released on April 23rd in Korea. The link they gave was to Synnara records, the equivalent to Tower Records in the USA. It will cost 23,500 Won which is approximately $20 US dollars. Shipping within Korea is free. It did not specify if it was available in Blu-Ray as it only said “DVD”. It will be available in Korean and English subtitles only. The language is obviously in Korean. I just checked yesasia.com to see if it was available there, but no luck. I hope many overseas Airens will support Seung Gi and purchase the DVD instead of watching it online on pirated sites.  It really saddens me to see Airens passing on links and posting it on their facebook pages as if it’s something to be proud about.  I’ve even seen pirated videos for sale in the streets of Korea and links on Korean blogs.  Let’s not do this to the star we love.  Lee Seung Gi deserves respect and the royalties for his hard work shooting his first movie.

Lee Seung Gi and Yoo Seung Rumored for MBC Drama Airing in the Competitive October 2015 Period

Don’t quote me on this still in the discussion phase only potential drama schedule and casting, but it’s way too juicy not to share and discuss even on the possibility alone. October is resembling D-day attack strategy for the big three networks when it comes to scheduling K-dramas, especially in the coveted Wed-Thurs slot. KBS has long ago reserved that month to premiere the pre-filmed huge budget A-list cast Kim Eun Sook drama Descendants of the Sun. SBS originally had the mega sageuk Six Dragons Flying slated for Mon-Tues followingHigh Society, but now the network is preparing Kim Hee Ae‘s comeback drama Ms. Cop for that time slot.

That means SBS is moving Six Dragons Flying over to Wed-Thurs to premiere in October following Shin Mina‘s Will You Have Dinner with Me which is back on the schedule. With Descendants on KBS and Six Dragons on SBS, that leaves MBC needing to pull out some big guns to go toe-to-toe on the Wed-Thurs ratings battle. Here comes the super awesome rumored casting from industry chatter – MBC is scheduling either Michelin Star (PD from The Moon Embraces the Sun) or a drama called Lost Time (screenwriter from Empress Ki) for that time slot, but with either drama the network is reportedly in talks to sign on both Lee Seung Gi andYoo Seung Ho as the co-male leads. ALL MY SQUEEING OVER THIS POSSIBLE CASTING IS RESERVED FOR AFTER THE JUMP.

I’m sorry but COME AGAIN? My Seung Gi and my baby boy jail bait IN ONE DRAMA? If this comes true then clearly all the good karma in my lifetime just came back in one biggest reward E.V.E.R. Even better? Reportedly the network wants Moon Geun Young as the female lead but she continues to be very choosy on her drama comeback and may not be looking to do one this year so her involvement is less probable, whereas both Lee Seung Gi and Yoo Seung Ho have said they are doing a drama this year and this totally makes sense as there isn’t much else on the drama horizon for the rest of 2015.

If both guys are in one drama together, it’s not impossible since Yoo Seung Ho is still very young and always open to taking second male lead roles for the challenge. Just please don’t make him play a baddie and also give him a cute girl of his own, and then I’ll finally forgive MBC for the distasteful brain dead plotting of his character in Missing You. Woo hoo! You make it happen, drama god, or else I’m suing for intentional infliction of excitement without payoff. Oh wait, if it really happens then how will I pick between dramas? There’s also Song Joong Ki! And Yoo Ah In! All happening at the same time as a possible Seung Gi-Seung Ho too much cuteness in one drama perfect casting. Ahhhhhhhhhh, *dies*

Moon/Sun PD returns with webtoon adaptation Michelin Star

Was there ever a time when dramas weren’t always webtoons first? We’ve got another adaptation in the pipeline, and this one comes from director Kim Do-hoon of the mega-hit fusion historical drama The Moon That Embraces the Sun (he also did Medical Top Teamafter that, but no one counts that one; he’ll pretty much always be the Moon/Sun PD). The new drama for MBC is called Michelin Star, and it’s set in the world of ambitious chefs.

 

The webtoon by Kim Song is about the loves and friendships that spark in the kitchen of a fine-dining restaurant where the chef is chasing after the elusive Michelin star. I wonder if it’s set in another country, because I don’t even think Michelin stars are given out in Seoul. Maybe that’s just a technicality or something they’ll fictionalize, which is fine by me.

PD Kim stated, “I heard about the webtoon Michelin Star last year. It’s an appealing project, and I have a big personal interest in cooking, so I think it will be exciting work.” The webtoon deals with French cuisine exclusively, but he plans to change the drama world to contemporary Korean cuisine while including other Western influences as well, and has been consulting with chefs to bring the food to life.

Writers Ma Jin-won and Sohn Hwang-won of I Am Legend and The Last Dance With Me will be leading a larger team of writers for the project, and script work is currently underway. May Queen Pictures (Shine or Go Crazy) is producing. There isn’t much detail about the story, but it sounds like the kind of drama that writes itself — restaurants are high drama, and food porn is always good TV. Pasta mixed with Moon/Sun’s aesthetic sensibility? My mouth is already watering.

Michelin Star plans to air in October on MBC.

Eh i do NOT want him to star alongside Yoo Seung Ho at all, the knetz army comments will only just get worse since its yoo seung ho. I might be a bit pessimist but i do hope he goes after the album. Dramas are barely doing well rn
