Why close when one can move?

In the tech section there are many who dont bother reading the rules and get their threads closed when they ask a question in the tech section instead of the troubleshooting section. As of right now, there are eight closed threads and one that was moved. Wouldn't it be more efficient to just move the thread to the troubleshooting to save time and forum space because they will probably ask the same question in troubleshoothing again anyways? Yeah, thats against the rules but I doubt that actually phases them. If I know I would be bored for a while, I might have asked if I could have the option of moving posts added to my account but I think I will be lazy and have things to do soon so I wont ask for it. Ooo and do you think you can maybe add to the rules or something to encourage the person who asks questions in troubleshooting to bookmark their own thread so they can go back to it and at least report back on if it worked or not?

Too many people do not bother to read the rules and post in the tech forum. Even when he made the section in bold red caps to post any help questions in the troubleshooting sub section, people still continue to post in the tech forum. No matter how many times you tell them to post in the right section. They still do not read or listen.

I understand that you wanted the threads to move but do you realize how many people post in the wrong section. I'm sure you don't notice it until it got closed. I don't know who moves the topics but any help questions in the tech forum get closed, no question asked. Also it isn't the question of lazyness, there's more to it. Don't make assumptions on the moderator who's in charge. Isn't it better than to have to warn them for posting in the wrong section? I'm just speaking for myself. I'm sure the moderator in charge can explain.

What I don't understand is why not personally pm the moderator in charge instead of making a topic. Since this is mainly a personal matter of the way the mod runs that section.

Its an explicit rule. Members should follow them. I understand where you're coming from but members will never learn to follow the rules. Even when we close them explicitly, members still insist on posting in the that forum for help. Simply moving them will not improve the situation.

Honestly, they should all be warned for not posting in the correct forum.

They can't follow "one" direct rule. You think they'll follow something more intricate ?

I totally agree with you. I wish more members followed the general rule in that forum so we do not have to penzlize as much but it seems like members in general neglect to read the faq and rules. Until then the enforcement in that forum stands....

 people read the rules?

I see, so this is mostly a battle to get people to read the rules. So to be helpful about it ill ignore those and let them get locked ^_^

In all honesty the most I do is skim rules until I get some warning of which I would go onto researching the reason. So might it be helpful to the dense ones to reply and lock with a "read the rules!" note?

The most amusing part of it is probably how people dont seem to try to figure out why it happens

Oh and koumi, I didn't think it was considered a personal inquiry about how a mod runs a section because I figured moderators have global powers and I figured this was more of a question of Soompi policy more than how one acts and moderates.

People don't learn when you move the threads for them. Some members don't even realize they've been warned.

As the mod who probably closes off a good chunk of them.. my reason is simple.. they won't learn unless it's closed. Often, when it's closed.. a lil bit later, they will post the same thing in troubleshooting instead.. thus warranting the closure.
