There are only two episodes left for the visual party of Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young from 'Judge from Hell'.

SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge from Hell' (written by Jo Yi-soo/directed by Park Jin-pyo and Jo Eun-ji/produced by Studio S) is an action fantasy about good and evil coexisting, where the devil Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye) enters the body of a judge and meets the humane, passionate detective Han Da-on (played by Kim Jae-young) in a hellish reality, punishing criminals and being reborn as a true judge. It is receiving much love from viewers, consistently taking first place in 2049 viewership ratings and first place in Friday-Saturday dramas among strong competitors.

The charming points of 'Judge from Hell' that has captivated the small screen are the thrilling catharsis presented by the evil yet lovable anti-hero Kang Bit-na, the charm of Han Da-on who is both gentle and sharp, the unpredictable and unimaginable development, the speedy and bold directing, the addictive 'crazy relationship' between the male and female leads who seem like they are both disgusting and not, and the passionate acting of the actors. Another thing that cannot be missed is the dazzling visual chemistry

between Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young. In the various filming stills released by the production team of 'Judge from Hell' on October 30, Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young show off their dazzling visuals and charms when they are alone and together. It is regrettable but also anticipated that there are only two more episodes left to see the two actors who shine brightly.

Episode 13 of SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge from Hell' will air on Friday, November 1 at 10 p.m. The final episode will air for 80 minutes on Saturday, November 2nd at 9:50 PM.

'The Judge from Hell' delivers justice real-world punishments can't

In "The Judge from Hell," Park Shin-hye stars as Judge Kang Bit-na, "Justitia" from the underworld, who first delivers a human verdict before carrying out a final, true judgment on criminals. /Courtesy of SBS

“Vai all’inferno (Fall into hell).”

With violet eyes blazing, Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye) raises her hand, her glistening purple blade aimed unwaveringly at her target’s heart. The hilt, etched with the fiery-red word “gehenna” (from the Greek “geenna,” meaning Hell), burns with infernal intensity. As the brand sears the sinner’s forehead, the underworld’s gates prepare to swing open.

In the SBS Friday-Saturday drama “The Judge from Hell,” Park Shin-hye plays Judge Kang Bit-na, a criminal judge who brings ruthless offenders to trial twice: once in the courtroom and a second time in the underworld, transformed into the demon adjudicator Justitia, who takes over Kang’s body to deliver a final, irreversible judgment. In the formal court, her rulings are relatively “lenient” given the severity of the crimes, allowing offenders to go free. Disillusioned by Judge Kang’s tempered sentences, victims and their families direct their anger toward her.

Leaving the courtroom amid public outrage, Park Shin-hye confronts the freed criminals secretly, declaring, “Now begins the real trial! To hell with you!” Her wide eyes gleam with chilling intensity, and the unsettling smile slowly spreading across her lips sends shivers down viewers’ spines. By the end of her character’s second trial, viewers feel an intense sense of relief, as though justice has finally been served.

When executing the devil's judgment, Kang Bit-na's eyes turn a striking shade of violet.

Celebrating over two decades since her debut as a child actor in 2003, Park Shin-hye’s latest role in “The Judge from Hell” has captivated audiences with its intense portrayal of justice. Viewers have responded eagerly to this unique dual-justice storyline, driving the drama’s ratings from a 6.8% premiere on Sept. 21 (Nielsen Korea) to 13.6% by Episode 8, with a peak at 16.1%—a clear testament to its breakout success.

The drama’s appeal lies in its adherence to the principle of “an eye for an eye.” Judge Kang does not merely pass down human rulings but exacts a second, more personal judgment, condemning the souls of the guilty to hell. This stark, almost mythic approach sets “The Judge from Hell” apart from traditional “anti-hero” narratives, where legal limits usually restrain vengeance. Here, Judge Kang’s relentless pursuit of vengeance confronts heinous criminals: the abusive ex-boyfriend Moon Jung-jun (Jang Do-ha), insurance fraudster and child abuser Bae Ja-young (Im Se-joo), murderer Yang Seung-bin (Yang Kyung-won), and corrupt heir Choi Won-jung (Oh Eui-sik), who assaults a union leader and stages it as a suicide. Each criminal skillfully exploits legal loopholes—claiming mitigating factors like mental lapses, insanity, or bribed witnesses to evade harsh punishment. Inspired by real-life cases, these storylines resonate deeply with viewers, who feel a powerful sense of long-awaited justice in Judge Kang’s retribution.

A dating violence offender faces retribution from Kang Bit-na (left), receiving the same violence he inflicted.

However, the show’s intense depictions of punishment have sparked debate. Park Shin-hye’s character uses various weapons and spills blood in her quest for justice, while scenes with Lee Kyu-han’s psychopathic character wielding a hatchet have faced criticism for being excessively violent. Supporters argue that these portrayals reveal the extreme cruelty humans are capable of, emphasizing a meaningful difference from the gratuitous violence often seen in streaming series.

Beyond the intense visuals, “The Judge from Hell” addresses core questions of judicial justice. With lines like, “Why does the court forgive when the victim does not?” the show has sparked public discussion on the perceived leniency of the legal system and its disconnection from public sentiment.

Many viewers have responded by calling for a revival of Hammurabi-like laws, the reinstatement of the death penalty, and a shift away from sentencing practices that often leave victims and their families vulnerable and fearful.

SBS’s “The Judge from Hell” has unveiled intense new stills ahead of the upcoming episode!

“The Judge from Hell” is a fantasy romance drama starring Park Shin Hye as Kang Bit Na, a demon from hell who has entered the body of a judge. After meeting the compassionate detective Han Da On (Kim Jae Young), who works hard at his job in a reality harsher than hell, Kang Bit Na embarks on a journey to becoming a true judge.

Spoilers

Previously, demon Kang Bit Na cried after feeling human emotions and empathy toward Han Da On and ultimately decided to protect him. Meanwhile, despite knowing that Kang Bit Na’s a demon, Han Da On chose to ally with her in order to track down the serial killer J, driven by his desire for revenge.

In a climactic battle, Kang Bit Na fought against Demon Detective Jang (Choi Dae Hoon) to save Han Da On. But just when they thought Detective Jang was finally dead, Han Da On saw him rise again, attempting to throw a knife at Kang Bit Na. Without hesitation, Han Da On pulled Kang Bit Na into his arms, shielding her from the impending danger.

The newly released stills capture the desperate, life-or-death moments where Kang Bit Na and Han Da On stand face-to-face to protect each other.

Reporter Kang Seon-ae]

'Judge from Hell' Park Shin-hye's affectionate appearance preparing for a breakup with Kim Jae-young was captured. The male and female leads of SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge from Hell' (written by Jo Yi-soo, directed by Park Jin-pyo and Jo Eun-ji) Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye) and Han Da-on (played by Kim Jae-young) are receiving hot love for their seemingly fatal relationship. At first, they were suspicious of each other and chased each other, but before they knew it, they had found a place in each other's hearts and risked their lives to protect each other. The passionate acting of Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young added to the drama's immersion.

In the previous 12th episode, Kang Bit-na revealed the identity of serial killer J and Satan. Serial killer J was Jeong Tae-gyu (played by Lee Kyu-han), who made a contract with Satan (played by Park Ho-san) who possessed Jeong Jae-geol (played by Kim Hong-pa) and killed people in place of Satan. While Kang Bit-na was killing Satan, Han Da-on faced Jung Tae-gyu. Han Da-on, a bereaved family member of the J serial murder case, was furious at Jung Tae-gyu's shamelessness, but decided to bring Jung Tae-gyu to the court of law instead of killing him.

However, Kang Bit-na was faced with a choice before Jung Tae-gyu's trial. If she did not release Jung Tae-gyu and kill him and send him to hell, she would be in danger of disappearing. At this time, many viewers recalled the prophecy made by Oh Mi-ja (Gabriel, Kim Young-ok). Oh Mi-ja warned Han Da-on in the past that if she stayed with Kang Bit-na, one of them would definitely die. The fates of Kang Bit-na and Han Da-on are wavering like candles in the wind.

In the midst of this, the production team of 'Judge from Hell' revealed Kang Bit-na and Han Da-on facing each other in a different atmosphere than usual on the 31st, increasing the sense of anxiety.

The revealed photos are scenes from episode 13, which will air on November 1st. In the photo, Kang Bit-na is looking at Han Da-on with sad and affectionate eyes and expressions as if hiding something. Han Da-on, who still doesn't know anything, looks at Kang Bit-na lovingly, but also seems to feel a sense of wonder. The hazy yet sad emotions flowing between the two intertwine with the cruel fates they face, creating a sense of pity.

Regarding this, the production team of 'Judge from Hell' said, "In episode 13, Kang Bit-na and Han Da-on's relationship will reach another major turning point. The truth of Omija's prophecy that if the two are together, one of them will definitely die will also be revealed. The two actors Park Shin-hye and Kim Jae-young dramatically portrayed the fates of the two main characters with delicate and elegant expressions of emotion. We ask for your interest and anticipation."

Episode 13 of 'Judge from Hell' will air on Friday, November 1 at 10 p.m. The final episode will air on Saturday, November 2 at 9:50 p.m. for 80 minutes.
