'Doctor Slump' actor Park Hyung-sik confessed his hidden feelings to Park Shin-hye.

Episode 7 of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Doctor Slump', which aired on the 17th, showed Yeo Jung-woo (Park Hyeong-sik) learning the truth about the medical accident that ruined his life.

On this day, Yeo Yeong-woo held the third trial in the Macau casino conglomerate heiress case. The courtroom was in an uproar as Yeo Yeong-woo did not show up even before the trial began. However, Yeo Yeong-woo entered the courtroom with a USB containing crucial evidence. Anesthesiologist Kang Jin-seok (Kim Jae-beom) was a witness, not a suspect, and the hidden camera in the operating room was a clue to overturn the trial results.

Earlier, Nam Ha-neul (Park Shin-hye) and Yeo Jeong-woo headed to the police station. Circumstances were confirmed that the man who followed Yeo Yeong-woo was the same person who invaded the rooftop, and it was revealed that the hidden camera he dropped was also the same as the one discovered by Nam Ha-neul. Nam Ha-neul shed tears out of pity as she watched Yeo Jeong-woo's difficult daily life.

On the day before the third trial, Nam Ha-neul decided to go to court with Yeo Yeong-woo. However, contrary to the call that said he would be waiting in front of the house, Yeo Yeong-woo disappeared, leaving behind only his cell phone. Yeo Yeong-woo, who was waiting for Nam Ha-neul, saw a suspicious car in front of his house. Kang Jin-seok (Kim Jae-beom) was in the car. Kang Jin-seok, who had been uncooperative with the investigation and trial, handed a USB to Yeo Jeong-woo. It was data from a hidden camera that Jinseok Kang had installed in the operating room.

It was crucial evidence that allowed Yeo Yeong-woo, who was wrongfully accused, to overturn the court's ruling. The inside story of the incident was as follows. There was a family inheritance dispute surrounding Macau casino conglomerate heiress Chang Bing, and the younger brother of Chang Bing's father, James Chang, planned an intentional murder. The boss and members of the organization infiltrated the operating room and mixed anticoagulants into the fluid, even manipulating the evidence at the scene, and the nurse who had worked with Yeo Jeong-woo directly injected the fluid.

Kang Jin-seok, who was suspected of being the real culprit, actually habitually installed hidden cameras to protect himself after taking responsibility for a medical accident in the past. Yeo Yeong-woo has proven his innocence even now. However, as Nam Haneul said, “Where secrets pass, scars remain,” Yeo Jeong-woo suffered from deep aftereffects. It was difficult to turn back his life, which had fallen to the bottom, and contact with those who had coldly ignored him was also difficult. Afterwards, Yeo Yeong-woo confessed his hidden feelings to Nam Ha-neul. Yu Yeon-woo opened up his heart honestly, saying, “I really like you.”

Watch: Lee Sung Kyung Hilariously Banters With Park Shin Hye And Park Hyung Sik On Set Of “Doctor Slump”

Feb 15, 2024

JTBC’s “Doctor Slump” has shared a new making-of video!

“Doctor Slump” is a romantic comedy about two former rivals who reunite and unexpectedly become each other’s light during the darkest period of their lives. Park Hyung Sik plays Yeo Jung Woo, a star plastic surgeon whose thriving career suddenly falls into danger due to a strange medical accident, while Park Shin Hye plays Nam Ha Neul, a workaholic anesthesiologist suffering from burnout syndrome.

Spoilers

The newly released behind-the-scenes video captures a look at Lee Sung Kyung’s special appearance in the drama.

Lee Sung Kyung recites, “Are you not happy to see me?” but Park Hyung Sik forgets that it’s his turn to speak and remains quiet with a blank expression. Laughing, Park Shin Hye comments, “He’s having a hard time between two noonas.” The atmosphere remains bright as Park Shin Hye can’t help but burst out laughing after making eye contact with Lee Sung Kyung. The two continue to impress the set with their ad-libs and passionate performances.

While filming the scenes of their characters in school, Park Hyung Sik personally picks the sausages out of the side dish to only give vegetables to Park Shin Hye’s character in stark contrast to the sausage-filled scoop he gives to Lee Sung Kyung’s character.

While preparing for Park Hyung Sik’s fight scene, Lee Sung Kyung asks, “Why is there no neck slice?” Park Hyung Sik playfully remarks, “Yesterday, [Lee Sung Kyung] made ad-libs saying, ‘He used neck-slicing techniques and hit his philtrum,’ so I was worried I would have a lot [of action] to do today.”

Check out the making-of video below!

The next episode of “Doctor Slump” airs on February 17 at 10:30 p.m. KST.

[Again TV] “I hate it when it’s hard for you too”… Park Shin-hye breaks up with 'Doctor Slump' Park Hyeong-sik after a short relationship

Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik's short romance has ended.

In the 8th episode of JTBC's Saturday-Sunday drama 'Doctor Slump' (written by Baek Seon-woo/directed by Oh Hyeon-jong), which aired on the night of the 18th, Haneul (played by Park Shin-hye) chose to break up with Jung-woo (played by Park Hyeong-sik).

Jungwoo suggested dating to Haeul, saying, “I like you and I don’t want to be friends anymore.” “I hate it too. But to Haneul’s calm reply, “I’m not anxious because I want to be in a relationship, right?” Jungwoo smiled and said, “I’m not in a hurry, because I want to be in a relationship with you,” and held out a bouquet of flowers, and Haneul said, “What? “Did you pick it up?” she said in surprise. When Jeongwoo said, “No, you bought it too carefully?”, Haneul said, “Why did you do all these pretty things?” “I always smelled alcohol cotton, but the flower scent is so good,” he said, thrilled.

However, Haneul's depression worsened upon hearing the news that Kyung-min (played by Oh Dong-min) would be getting married in two months. He went to the psychiatry department without telling Jung-woo, but when Jeong-woo came to the hospital for a regular check-up, he witnessed Ha-neul weeping while consulting with the doctor. He went to Dae-young (played by Yoon Park) and said, “There is someone I like, but the situation is a bit difficult right now. I think I should stay by your side. He declined the partnership offer, saying, “I think it would be a great loss to find my place alone.”

Haneul heard from a classmate that Kyeong-min was quitting his job at the hospital to take a position as an executive at her in-laws' pharmaceutical company. When Hae-neul was shocked and said, “How long has it been since you were appointed as a professor?”, his classmate became enraged and said, “You wrote that paper as well. Does it make sense to put you as first author, make him a professor, and then put Mr. Woo in that position?”

Afterwards, the story of Haneul, who lost her father at the end of a day when everything was perfect, and secretly felt anxious every time she felt happy, was depicted. Haneul, who had been relying on Gyeongmin's praise and encouragement to persevere, was betrayed by having his thesis taken away by him. Despite the protest, “Why did you leave out my name when I wrote the thesis?” Kyeong-min scolded, “Do you want to see my life ruin?” and ignored him, saying, “If I have a position, I will push you first, so let’s ask.”

Unable to bear her anger, Ha-neul went to Gyeong-min's farewell party and threw alcohol in her face, telling her to "live your life properly." After hearing from Hong Ran (played by Gong Seong-ha) that Jung-woo rejected Dae-young's offer to stay by his side, Ha-neul asks Jung-woo, "Why are you embarrassing me?" “Why are you making me so miserable? Let’s just leave it at this point,” he said as he broke up.

“I don’t think I’m in a position to be in a relationship right now. Yesterday it was okay, but today it’s not okay. I forgot for a moment, but I'm a person who can't handle myself. “I’m sorry,” Jungwoo said, “Can’t you just have a hard time next to me? I persuaded him, “No matter what the hardship is, let’s work through it together,” but Haneul said, “I don’t want to do it. “Why are you doing this because of me? That’s what I hate the most,” he said and turned around. Jung-woo, who held on to Ha-neul, said, “You don’t have to be in a relationship and you don’t have to like me, so take this,” and gave her an umbrella and walked away lonely, and Ha-neul burst into tears.

Meanwhile, 'Doctor Slump' airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 pm on JTBC.

[People] ‘Doctor Slump’ Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik, icons of home healing

'Doctor Slump' Park Hyung-sik and Park Shin-hye

A warm healing wind is blowing in the cold winter.

Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik, who are active in the JTBC weekend drama 'Doctor Slump', which has just reached the turning point and announced the second act, are armed with romantic comedy charm. From the flirtatious two-shot to the cheerful appearance of a fierce battle of wits like a high school classmate, it is worthy of the title 'icon of healing in the living room'.

'Doctor Slump' is a work that depicts the failed lives of doctors who fall into the biggest slump of their lives for their own reasons, including lawsuits worth 10 billion won and burnout. In the drama, Park Shin-hye and Park Hyeong-sik play the roles of Nam Ha-neul, an anesthesiologist suffering from depression, and Yeo Jeong-woo, a plastic surgeon suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder due to guilt over a 10 billion won lawsuit and the death of a patient, respectively. The two, who were fierce rivals in school and competed fiercely for the top spot in the school, reunited at the worst time of their lives.

'Doctor Slump' Park Hyung-sik and Park Shin-hye

No matter how frustrating it was that we couldn't bite each other during our school days, we felt sorry for each other's current situation. Park Shin-hye grew up with her family's expectations from her childhood, so she couldn't even tell her that she was depressed and suffered alone. She endured it again and again, but when she could no longer endure it, she resigned from the hospital. Park Hyung-sik was caught up in an unintentional incident and fell from a high-flying celebrity doctor to the bottom. There was no one left around. His family and friends turned away from him and he had to endure all this time alone. The only person who appeared at that time and believed in me and comforted me was Park Shin-hye. Park Shin-hye began to open her eyes to things she had put off while studying. The fun in the world she felt was thanks to Park Hyung-sik.

She was walking with her through the worst time of her life, seeing her as she was and showing her heartfelt words and actions by her side. However, the method of recovery is very routine. She is overcoming her slump in everyday ways, such as going to the arcade to play games, eating delicious food and drinking alcohol, or washing blankets on the rooftop on a nice day. In the end, she conveyed her message well that she is a society where we live 'together', not alone, and that although she has been hurt by people, those wounds can also be healed as people.

Meanwhile, the relationship between Park Shin-hye and Park Hyeong-sik, who claimed to be her classmates, developed into friends and lovers. The presence that comforts us the moment we fall into the abyss of life and feel alone also provides warm comfort to us who are fighting against the harsh world for our own reasons. Director Oh Hyeon-jong said, "I felt sympathy for the characters who have lived tough lives. I wanted to capture it in a warm way. I believe that humans are imperfect and must constantly grow, so you will be able to see the characters' growth stories as they overcome mental illness and grow." The directing intention was conveyed as is. In addition, the actors including Park Shin-hye and Park Hyeong-sik are directly confirming the reason why they were confident, saying, "I'm excited but it's funny, it's funny but I'm excited" and "I'm going to be happy with romantic comedy and healing."

'Dr. Slump'

'Doctor Slump' Park Shin-hye and Park Hyeong-sik's happiness passed by like a fleeting moment. The viewership rating has returned to the 6% level and is on the verge of exceeding 7%.

In the 8th episode of JTBC's weekend drama 'Doctor Slump', which aired on the 18th, the full-fledged romance between 'Wooneul Couple' Park Shin-hye (Nam Ha-neul) and Park Hyeong-sik (Yeo Jeong-woo) began. The time it took for them to go from friends to lovers was insignificant, and the two people immediately had a tearful farewell when they encountered reality. The audience rating was 6.2% nationwide and 6.8% in the metropolitan area (Nielsen Korea, based on paid households), ranking first among all comprehensive and cable programs.

Park Shin-hye's worries began with Park Hyung-sik's confession. She said she liked him and even held his hand, but she was confused as to whether this relationship was her friend's or her lover's. Park Shin-hye, who received counseling from her younger brother Yoon Sang-hyeon (Nam Bada) following her mother and uncle, was told that if she had not asked him to date her, she was just a flirt, so she headed to the rooftop room. I wanted to hear her confirmation about her relationship. Just then, Yoon Sang-hyun came to visit Park Hyeong-sik, and Park Shin-hye hid in her bathroom and overheard their conversation. Yoon Sang-hyun shocked Park Shin-hye by asking Park Hyeong-sik to date her hot-headed older sister.

In response, Park Hyung-sik assured Park Shin-hye, "I like you, and I don't want to be friends anymore." Entering day 1 of her relationship, Park Shin-hye headed out for her date with Park Hyung-sik. Reading and discussing papers together was her dream with her lover. Park Hyung-sik took Park Shin-hye on a date that was more special than ordinary things such as movie theaters, arcades, and cafes. She asked Park Shin-hye a question she had been curious about but could not bear to ask. She told us about her real reason for leaving the hospital. She said Park Shin-hye hesitated for a moment and then she replied that nothing had happened.

Park Shin-hye and Park Hyung-sik, who returned from her date, saw the wedding invitation that Oh Dong-min (Min Kyung-min) had left behind. When she heard the news of his marriage, Park Shin-hye's expression instantly hardened and she hurried down, saying she was not feeling well. She sat down on her steps, avoiding Park Hyung-sik's eyes on her, and let out her heavy breath. As her curiosity about her relationship with Oh Dong-min grew, Park Shin-hye visited a psychiatrist and requested additional prescriptions for her depression medication. When asked if there had been a particularly difficult situation for her, she shed tears. That day was the day Park Hyung-sik received regular medical treatment. When he visited the hospital, his heart became heavy after seeing tears for an unknown reason.

The stories of Park Shin-hye and Oh Dong-min, who worked as seniors and juniors at the same university hospital, were revealed. Park Shin-hye followed and respected Oh Dong-min as her senior, who showered her with praise and favor. However, in the paper written by Park Shin-hye, she omitted his name and submitted Oh Dong-min as her sole author, aiming for her benefit. Park Shin-hye, who has not yet forgotten her shock and betrayal, heard that Oh Dong-min was quitting the hospital not long after he was appointed as a professor, and he burst into the farewell party uninvited and added alcohol. It was a part that made us guess that Oh Dong-min was the reason Park Hyung-sik asked Park Shin-hye about quitting the hospital.

Park Shin-hye, who was drinking alone with unresolved feelings, received a call from Gong Seong-ha (Lee Hong-ran). He broke the news that Park Hyung-sik received an offer from Yoon Park (Bin Dae-young) to work together and she turned it down. She was worried that Park Shin-hye would feel her loss if she went back to the hospital alone. For some reason, her feelings were complicated by her inexplicable shabbiness and her self-blame toward Park Hyeong-sik. On the way back to her house, he ran into Park Hyeong-sik and told her that he was breaking up with her, saying, "Let's just stop here. I forgot for a while, but I'm a person who can't handle even myself."

The final moments of Park Shin-hye and Park Hyeong-sik breaking up in tears in the rain were all the more pathetic because they were realistic. In particular, Park Shin-hye's past, which she believed had become better and happier with each other, but fell apart again with the news of Oh Dong-min, doubled the sadness. Park Shin-hye recalled the day her father passed away, which she recalled with the narration, 'At the end of a perfect day, an unbearable misfortune awaited her.' When something happy happened, she suddenly felt anxious in a corner of her heart. Attention is drawn to the conversation between the two after their sudden breakup, as if she is not even allowing him to be happy with Park Hyeong-sik.

‘Doctor Slump’ airs every Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 PM.
