Handsome Korean male singer, Tim, was a special guest at the Sina website (Korean edition) the other day. He talked openly about his feelings towards music, shared his feelings about the new album, and revealed an embarrassing incident that had once occurred on stage, making us unable to resist laughing along.

Tim: Sina net friends, hello! I'm Tim. I love you.

Sina: Can you talk a bit about how you feel about the showcase this time?

Tim: I'm a bit nervous. I don't quite understand the concept of a showcase, so I'm not sure how to go about it. Previously, I've had many concerts. I've heard that a showcase and a concert have a lot of similarities. While there is pressure being on stage, in my heart, I'd also think that I definitely cannot let everyone feel disappointed. So, I've made a lot of preparations.

Sina: Can you talk a bit about your thoughts on the showcase this time?

Tim: First of all, I really want to thank everybody. When I think about how there are so many people who have come to support me and care about me, I'm really very touched. It's a bit of a shame that my vocal cords have not been feeling too well lately. Originally, I should have been able to rest well for the past year and a half. But I discovered to rest well is rather difficult. Even though I could not present my best self to everyone, I still hope that I can work my hardest to bring good music to everyone.

Sina: Can you talk a bit about your 4th album?

Tim: This album entitled "Love Is..." is an album that includes many kinds of love. So, the music also has many styles. It's not quite the same as before. I think that the music in this album should be quite good when you listen to it. I hope everyone will check out this album and like this album. My songs describe the sorrows of love and the pain of break-up. The feelings of the songs are a continuation of my style in the past. However, the emotions expressed are even stronger than previous songs. Hence, those listening to the music will also be more deeply affected. I hope everyone will really like the songs.

I hope that everyone can listen closely to each song on the album. Even though I have already released several albums, whenever I release a new one, I work hard to prepare and produce each song. To let everyone listen to good music, I have worked really hard. So, I hope everyone can take a listen. There are many songs that match the season of autumn. Thus, while everyone is experiencing the feelings of autumn, you can also enjoy my songs.

Sina: What are the differences between this album and previous albums?

Tim: If we're talking about differences, I attempted a bit of a different feel in terms of musical style. In previous albums, there was a bit of R&B feel, but this time, such feeling is even stronger. In addition, there's pop style music. This album was also put together by many international (overseas) musicians. So, when everyone listens to it, you would probably feel a touch of foreign (non-Korean) sound. All in all, I hope everyone can support this album.

Sina: Were you the one who planned this event?

Tim: Of course it was planned with the company. The event this time was done in hopes of expressing a kind of love confession. Not only the confession of love between lovers, but also between friends and family members. Through this event, one can witness these love confessions in reality. To me, this was a very good opportunity. This event was not the type of love confession that signified a marriage proposal to your lover. It was done in hopes of asking everyone to re-evaluate love; to start reshaping love's feeling and happiness. So, when these things crossed my mind, I also felt very happy.

Sina: How did Son Ho Young become a part of your album?

Tim: First of all, we're from the same company. The first time that I met Ho Young hyung*, I felt that we shared a lot of similarities. So, our relationship became really close very quickly. Specifically, when I was listening to one of the songs on this album, I was pondering incessantly which musical style to take. At that time, I thought that if Ho Young hyung could sing this song with me, it would definitely have good results. So, I asked Ho Young hyung for a favour. The song was completed smoothly and the feeling is also quite good. There was also another hyung who accompanied me on the saxophone. The song is really quite good to listen to.

Sina: Today, you seem to be very popular.

Tim: Rather than discussing popularity, I actually find it more appropriate to express a word of thanks. There were quite a few celebrity friends who came today. With their hectic schedules, it is not an easy thing for them to come. So, I'm really thankful to them. Of course, there are other people. The fans--they're all people that I want to thank. They're also my motivation. I feel that I should work even harder to make the 4th album a success.

Sina: Can you talk a bit about how things are in terms of exercising/working out?

Tim: Today, my fitness trainer also came. But he's quite concerned about me. Because there are times when I have a lot of activities on my schedule and they conflict with my training program. Nevertheless, for a healthier life, I am trying hard to exercise. First of all, my tummy absolutely cannot stick out. What do you think? My physique is okay, right?

Sina: When you're with fans, was there anything that was touching to you?

Tim: There are things that were touching, and of course, at times you can also think of these things as amusing. Every time I perform, there will always be some familiar fans standing near the front of the stage. The reason I can remember these fans is that they really love me and care about me a lot. One time while I was singing a song in concert, the zipper of my pants was down. If I had been singing a ballad, it might not have been that bad. But at that time, I was singing and dancing. There were quite a number of leg movements. I saw at the front of the stage there was a fan who looked like she was pointing at something to try to tell me something. After I realized that my zipper was undone, I immediately turned around to fix it. For this, I'm really thankful to that fan. In fact, fans could totally disregard this type of thing. But they still cared about me.

Sina: How do you go about understanding music?

Tim: Music has a lot of different types of meaning. But to me, I think of music as a type of "language"; a "language" that is universal. The languages of real life may pose barriers as a result of different languages being spoken in different countries. But the "language" of music, I believe, is universal in all parts of the world. I treat music as a type of "language", so I am working hard to learn and practice this "language".

Sina: What's the condition of your vocal cords now?

Tim: Right now, the condition still isn't very good. I still need to go to the hospital to check. After this event is over, I still need to make a trip to the hospital. Might have to confirm whether there are any problems with my vocal cords.

Sina: Finally, how about saying a few words to your fans in China?

Tim: Fans in China, I'm very happy that I can see everyone through this video. The showcase this time is the start of my new album activities. What did everyone think of it? they all fit so harmoniously and I LOVE THE SONG!!

In a recent article, Tim said that he actually didn't attend Temple College as it says on his company profile. He says that he got the acceptance letter but also got accepted into the korean entertainment company as a singer trainee at the same time. He decided to go to Korea to pursue his dreams instead and didn't go to Temple College at all.

I think it's really good that he's being honest

and i'm very glad that he chose to go for his dreams!!
