About so-called ghosts, I've had some encounters, and talked to one. 😬 Or rather, she talked to me, that shadow shaped like a little girl. She was at the stairs, asked me what took me so long (I took a shower), and told me she'd been waiting for me. 😵 I apologised, told her I didn't know she's waiting. She then said OK. And let me pass to go up the stairs.

 

There are no kids in the college dorm. 🥴

Yes, Diwali is celebrated in my country! But not in mass scale. It's only among tamil/ hindu people so not much publicity is given for Diwali festival in my region, unnie!

No, never went to a male (korean) artist before and Taemin definitely won't be the first. I know less songs of him/Shinee than of BTS. 
Frankfurt isn't so exciting aswell. Also this is just a few days after my birthday and I can imagine his concert tickets will be more on the expensive side. 

February/March are the last months were going to concerts is actually fun and relaxed, before the summer sauna starts again, so I hope I can finally catch a Gi-dle concert around this time.

Chingus, have any of you watched this amazing documentary on Netflix called The Remarkable Life of Ibelin?

 

 

It has won several awards this year internationally as best documentary incl. Sundance. It's being praised in media all over the world: NY Times, BBC, etc.

I just watched it and it was really well done.

 

Synopsis:

"A documentary about Mats Steen, a young man with a fatal disease who found his true self in a virtual world called "World of Warcraft". Through interviews and online messages, the film explores how he impacted the lives of others with his kindness and empathy."

 

It resonated with me a lot because it explored a theme we here on this thread are familiar with: an online persona and making friends from all over the world you've never met IRL. And that these online friends can be very meaningful to you. So group hug to my Soompi Forums friends.

 

Am so glad to have met you all. Watch the documentary! It's touching.

@partyon  Honestly not really interested to see only Taemin.   Also the concert is in tuesday. 

 

Saw the documentary yesterday after I watched Documentary about M. Stewart.   The documentary was really amazing and heatwarming.  😍  It made me think all my Soompi and Discord Friends.

I ended up binge FFing c-drama The King's Woman on YouTube today. Managed to get through 48 episodes in 5 hours. Talk about SUPER FF.

I was just watching random YouTube videos and somehow the first episode of this drama came up next on autoplay. The story could have been concluded in 16 episodes, but you know how these c-dramas are stretched out to oblivion - so had to go hard on the FF button

 

But the king was quite handsome and charismatic, and he grew on me as I continued to watch the drama. First drama with Dilraba Dilmurat that I've watched - she's not a bad actress. Neither was the ML Vin Zhang - whom btw I give an extra point to for not being overly skinny like the other c-oppas nowadays

 

I just can't with skinny oppas.

 

@agenth @sweetroad @4evrkdrama This dude literally reminded me of JCW oppa in Empress Ki so many times. Equally deranged character, but JCW oppa was super whiny compared to this king.

 

For anyone who wants to FF this drama, here's the link to the playlist with all episodes in eng sub.

 

For once, the ending made kinda sense too.

@agenth Really no need to be shocked. Oppa's Empress Ki character was super whiny in the first part of the drama.

 

Do I have to remind you of his shenanigans? 😈

 

You know how he turned deranged after that?

 

Okay, so take berserk oppa and turn him into The King's Woman emperor and make him crazy from the start but still loving his concubine more than life and being totally obsessed with her. Not trusting that she loves him.

 

Empress Ki and The King's Woman are quite similar in that sense:

• both emperors who are fighting the world alone cruel in their quest to rule the nation
• both emperors obsessed with a woman from their childhood/youth
• both crazily jealous about their women's first loves
• both women giving birth to sons who are not the emperors' sons, but their first loves' sons....
• neither emperor trusting that their women love them
• both emperors having bouts of angry fits and their women trying to calm them down
• the most epic endings that make sense

She's very popular for a reason. 🙂 In the Flame's Daughter, she's paired with Vic Zhou, one of the Taiwanese F4 guy. She has modern genre dramas, but IMO, she looks best in costume dramas. Her most notable role is as Bai Feng Jiu, which brought her greater fame when Eternal Love aired in 2018.

He's a very promising actor. Hopefully his own management outside the Jay Walk Studio stable give him better care and exposure.

Just swamped with real life stuff actually.

 

Plus, the kittens don't seem to be leaving anytime soon. We tried multiple times to put them elsewhere but they kept coming back to this spot. Giving up, our neighbour put one empty shoe box near the stairs and now the kittens sleep there. The housekeeping lady keeps saying the kittens and mommy cat should leave in a few days. Hope so. I want to open my door without mommy cat asking for food, these kittens following behind and me trying to figure out how to make sure none of these kittens get caught in the door. I don't mind giving the mommy cat some food but I would like the corridor a bit clean.

I still haven't watched Empress Ki, but the more I hear about and see JCW's character in it, the more it makes me laugh. Super whiny? Haha. By the way is it a thing that Ha Ji Won and JCW look alike in their wigs and robes? I mistook Ha Ji Won for JCW in a couple of scenes from the video you posted. 😂

@agenth When I finally saw this scene in K2 (that you posted the GIF of earlier) I thought, "Surely the show is trolling us."

 

 

The romantic music, the way they're looking at each other, and the way she's practically swooning all over him totally seemed like a setup for a noona romance. Anna just can't compete.

Eternal Love is on my watchlist! I've heard so many people rave about it. But the number of episodes always seems daunting so I never start it. 😅

Tell me about it. Keep having random convos with kids I have never seen but apparently exist in this building.

 

One set of boys asked if I was raising these kittens + mommy cat. My response was a horrified "no" but I am just feeding the mommy cat because I feel bad to hear it whine. 

 

Our building kind of has an open floor plan in that there is no extra door to enter the building. Since we live on the first floor, there are quite a number of strays that hang out. There is:

--  A grey cat that comes around occasionally every few months, it also pops up by other floors and buildings on rotation and everyone keeps asking from time to time on the whatsapp group if it belongs to someone but it belongs to no one. No idea how this cat manages to figure out which apartments to pop up at and get food. 

-- A black cat that sleeps on the other neighbours shoe cupboard (which is outside their door). Think the neighbour's kids feed it. Usually always sleeping and just looks up and gives a yawn whenever I see it. 

-- The neighbour lady's white cat which pops in and out and also visits the neighbouring relatives who live on the same floor. It is a total scaredy cat which has only stopped shivering recently but generally is still wary of us; only comfortable with neighbour and their relatives. 

-- A rowdy orange and white cat that growls at me sometimes for food when I am picking up the milk in the early morning.

 

I do have dry food if any of these munchkins pop up and ask but I had never seen this mommy cat prior to the kittens. The boy told me that he thinks it hangs out near Jona's house. I asked him why it didn't pop its kittens there instead of here. It is a mystery that one.
