Here we used to have a lot of stray dogs, which would probably scare away your cat population if they were in your block!

 

I think our backyard has a rodent problem, in that our lawn has a bunch of uniform holes in it, all over. But we're too wary to go out there at night in the pitch darkness, so we never see anything actually out there.

 

And within the house we have silverfish. I hate them, but I guess it's better than having mice or scorpions or other assorted nasties indoors.

Nope, actually not. The funny thing is, though, that both dramas are based on real people and emperors, so it's interesting that their stories are similar. But there are big differences too. For example the first love is a king in Empress Ki, a normal disciple in King's Woman. Empress Ki's FL cross dresses as a man, King's Woman FL is a skilled female fighter. Also, there is a 1500 year difference between the 2 dramas. King's Woman is set in 200 BC, whereas Empress Ki is set in 1300 AD.

What are his noona romances? I can't think of any of them. But I must watch one soon; this thing with Anna is killing me. ALSO if Anna is allergic to strawberries why would she eat strawberry ice cream, even if it was from her dad?! Taking that reasoning to its logical conclusion, wouldn't she think her dad wanted her to kill herself with it then? So why would she be happy (instead of completely sad and depressed) about that, that it was from her dad? The other logical conlusion is that she doesn't know she's allergic to strawberries, but that also makes zero sense because she's an adult, and she would know she's deathly allergic to something. Especially growing up in Spain, where strawberries are abundant. There's no way she wouldn't know. Logic breakdowns like this are driving me crazy in this show.

 

But I can't look away. It's too entertaining. But the whole time I'm saying out loud, "Oh my word. This is so stupid." And then cringing whenever there's skinship between Anna and Je Ha.

I know it's 58eps, and the CGI and SFX are outdated now by today's standards since the drama was filmed 2016 and aired early 2017. But it's very much worth it if you wanna focus on the story which spans 3 lives, so its like 3 stories, and the side stories of the 2nd FL and 2nd ML.

 

And the acting! Especially their eye acting! They were truly their characters! Yang Mi and Mark Chao will always be Bai Qian and Ye Hua for me, just as Dilraba and Vengo Gao are the only Bai Feng Jiu and Dong Hua, ever. Even the villains, Su Jin and Xuan Nu, had become the signature roles played by Maggie Huang and Bambi Zhu. Even Vin Zhang is still known as that Li Jing.

@WeunXK Reba's one of the most beautiful in costumes. Others become meh, but she is one of the few who looks ethereal whether in modern or fantasy/costume genre.

 

@partyon He left Jay Walk and he's now in his own studio, which sadly lessened his chances of exposure and connection his previous agency had.

Nice! One day I will watch it. Mark Chao is actually in a Chinese My Mister remake which all of us My Mister fans are hotly anticipating. Will be interesting to see what he does with the main character, who starts out as a repressed, depressed guy but then slowly wakes up to life through his friendship with an angry, tough younger woman.

Haha, he doesn't sound too happy with it - first it's a scarf, then it goes all over the place, then he has to be careful with it when he's getting dressed. Looks like a pain.  😅  But it seems like the hair makes the man in this drama.

Eternal Love made the loose, shampoo commercial, flowing hair for Cdrama costume drama male leads popular. 😅 His very costly wig was made of silk. It's a pain, but looked so good on him in many scenes.

 

Mark Chao is such a good actor. I've seen him in a movie with Deng Lun, another notable actor. Sadly Deng Lun had to leave C-ent cos he was embroiled in tax issues.

 OK I looked it up, and I know now that Ha Ji Won is older than Ji Chang Wook, so Empress Ki is a noona romance for him. 💪 (I answered my own question 😄) I was wondering if Empress Ki was one of them, since the other dude she likes looks a bit older. What other shows is JCW in where he has a thing for a noona?

My mom thinks the daddy might be the black cat that occasionally sleeps on the shoe cupboard. I haven't seen it play with the kittens though it comes over and eats some of the food....

My husband does that all the time when we buy some sweets specifically for the kids to have (like Halloween candy or Christmas stuff), but then he wants to eat some of it. He calls it the Daddy Tax. In practice it makes sense and is fine, but typing that out right now it sounds kind of disturbing, actually...

But she knew that after watching those episodes the story would get better again (?). It was funny to hear her talk about it.

It's one of the best Cdramas, with equally beautiful OST. The acting is really, really great, especially the villains. Xiao Zhan and Wang Yibo killed it in this drama. There are a lot of unexpected twists, plenty of characters killed, and some hilarious scenes. Fairy and Apple are adorable. 😁

 

Give it a try, and see why Untamed is up there in the ranks with Eternal Love.
