tvN’s upcoming drama “Love Your Enemy” has offered a sneak peek of its first episode!

 

“Love Your Enemy” is a romance drama about “arch-nemeses” Seok Ji Won (Ju Ji Hoon) and Yoon Ji Won (Jung Yu Mi), who were born on the same day with the same name and whose families have been enemies for generations.

 

The preview clip begins with Seok Ji Won and Yoon Ji Won constantly bickering, bumping shoulders, and kicking shins in the schoolyard. The inherited animosity between the two is clearly shown through their statements, “I just hate him,” and, “We fought viciously.”

 

Seok Ji Won’s father Seok Kyung Tae (Lee Byung Joon) expresses his desire for revenge against his arch-nemesis and Yoon Ji Won’s grandfather Yoon Jae Ho (Kim Kap Soo) by saying, “I’ll kick out both him and his granddaughter, who is teaching, just like how we were kicked out in the past,” fueling curiosity about the past events between the two families. Amidst this situation, Seok Ji Won learns that Yoon Ji Won does not remember him, completely changing Seok Ji Won’s previously dismissive attitude toward his father. Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki: Seok Ji-Won (Ju Ji-Hoon) and Yoon Ji-Won (Jung Yu-Mi) were born on the same day and in the same town. They also share the same given name of Ji-Won, but their families have been enemies for generations. They studied at the same schools, but, they were rivals and growled whenever they made eye contact.

During Seok Ji-Won’s student days, he was a cheerful person and good with education and sports. Due to his family’s situation, he left his hometown with his family. Now, Seok Ji-Won is an adult and works as senior managing director at Seokban Construction. He returns to his hometown as the chairman of Dokmok High School, which he and Yoon Ji-Won attended. There, he reunites with Yoon Ji-Won, who works as a PE teacher. During her student days, she was called “Mad Dog,” because she couldn’t tolerate injustice or bad practices. She had to confront these situations and try to correct them. As she experienced more difficulties while becoming an adult, her “Mad Dog” tendencies have gone into hibernation. Earlier on November 18, tvN’s upcoming drama “Love Your Enemy” held a press conference with director Park Jun Hwa and actors Ju Ji Hoon, Jung Yu Mi, Lee Si Woo, and Kim Ye Won.

“Love Your Enemy” is a romance drama about “arch-nemeses” Seok Ji Won (Ju Ji Hoon) and Yoon Ji Won (Jung Yu Mi), who were born on the same day with the same name and whose families have been enemies for generations.

Director Park Jun Hwa shared how determined he was to cast Ju Ji Hoon and Jung Yu Mi. “I’ve seen Ju Ji Hoon in strong, witty roles, but I was curious to see how he would be when he’s serious,” Park Jun Hwa said. “When we met, I found him to be even more pure and charming than I expected. During filming, I kept commenting on how cute he is—he’s even more delightful than I thought.”

 

Speaking about Jung Yu Mi, Park Jun Hwa said, “She had a cameo in ‘What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim,’ and she was adorable even then. I was excited to see how her romantic acting and expressions would complement Ju Ji Hoon’s. She exceeded my expectations,” remarking that her charm, with and expressions were incredibly endearing. The director continued, “I feel lucky to have worked with both of them.”

 

“Love Your Enemy” marks a return to romantic comedies for both leads. It is Ju Ji Hoon’s first rom-com in 18 years since “Princess Hours” and Jung Yu Mi’s first in 10 years since “Discovery of Love.”

Ju Ji Hoon explained his decision to revisit the genre: “In ‘Princess Hours,’ the fantasy setting of a constitutional monarchy didn’t feel grounded in everyday emotions or reality. But ‘Love Your Enemy’ feels more rooted in the ordinary. My character, Seok Ji Won, doesn’t pull Yoon Ji Won into his world but instead steps into her everyday life at school. Acting in these relatable scenarios was refreshing and exciting, which drew me to the project.”

Jung Yu Mi, often called the “rom-com queen,” reflected on her return: “I can’t believe 10 years have already passed. When I read the script, I thought it was fun. I remember asking the director what kind of drama he wanted to create. He said he wanted something healing, and I completely agreed. That’s why I chose this project—I wanted to work on a drama that feels warm and comforting.”

She added, “I’m thankful people still call me the rom-com queen. I believe I have more to show. This time feels different because, while my past characters were experienced in relationships, Yoon Ji Won seems to have little experience. That fresh perspective felt exciting, and I think it will stand out.”

tvN’s upcoming drama “Love Your Enemy” has shared a sneak peek of its upcoming premiere!

 

“Love Your Enemy” is a new romantic comedy about “arch-nemeses” Seok Ji Won (Ju Ji Hoon) and Yoon Ji Won (Jung Yu Mi), who were born on the same day with the same name and whose families have been enemies for generations.

 

In the new preview, Seok Ji Won is grabbing a drink with friends and catching up when a former classmate drops an unexpected bomb. “At our last class reunion, our [former] class president showed up for the first time,” he reveals. “You know, Yoon Ji Won.”

 

The former classmate goes on to share that Yoon Ji Won is now working as a teacher at their alma mater, which surprised him because she got her degree in engineering and used to work at a successful start-up. When he asks Seo Ji Won, “You remember, right? She was smart and aloof and pretty. There were lots of guys that liked her.”

 

When Seo Ji Won pretends not to remember much about her, his friend says in bewilderment, “How come these smart kids have such bad memories? Yoon Ji Won couldn’t remember you either.”

 

After nearly coughing up his drink due to his friend’s offhand remark, Seo Ji Won sputters, “She couldn’t what?” When his friend reiterates that Yoon Ji Won couldn’t remember him at all, Seo Ji Won goes into a state of shock.

 

“Yoon Ji Won doesn’t remember me?!” he exclaims. “Yoon Ji Won doesn’t remember me? Me?! She can’t remember me?”

His friend explains, “I asked her several times, but she said she didn’t know you and couldn’t remember you.” Seo Ji Won then bursts into hysterical laughter, startling everyone at the table. Although his friend attempts to calm him down by nervously adding, “Maybe… was she a little drunk that day?”

However, it’s too late to get through to Seo Ji Won, who immediately gets up and walks outside into the rain with a crazed look in his eye and not a single word of goodbye.

tvN unveils the stars that will make a cameo appearance in the upcoming rom-com K-drama Love Your Enemy.

On November 22, tvN released teaser photos showcasing the preview of the cameo appearances of Jo Jae Yoon, Im Chul Soo, Moon Sang Min, and Bae Hyeon Seong. These actors will appear in the pilot episode of the upcoming K-drama. 

Love Your Enemy will showcase the romance between a man and woman who will reunite after 18 years. They were born on the same day with the same name and their families have been enemies for generations. 18 years later, the two will reunite as colleagues in Dokmok High School.

Director Park Joon Hwa (Alchemy of Souls, What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, and Because This Is My First Life) and writer Im Ye Jin (The Tale of Nokdu, Love in the Moonlight, and Who Are You: School 2015) worked together to create the upcoming series. 

Ju Ji Hoon, Jung Yu Mi, Kim Ye Won, Lee Si Woo, Kim Jung Young, and Kim Gab Soo will lead the K-drama. 

Love Your Enemy will premiere on November 23, at 9:20 PM KST. It will have a total of 12 episodes. 

 

 

Jo Jae Yoon will portray Park Jeon Moo. He is the executive director of Seokban Construction who dislikes Ju Ji Hoon's character, Seok Ji Won. In the preview photo, Park Jeon Woo is seen shocked to find out who entered the conference office. 

Im Chul Soo will portray Yoo Hong Jae in the series. He is a former high school classmate of the main leads. His character will play a key role in reuniting Seok Ji Won (Ju Ji Hoon) and Yun Ji Won (Jung Yu Mi). 

Moon Sang Min and Bae Hyeon Seong will portray the younger versions of Seok Ji Won (Ju Ji Hoon) and Yun Ji Won (Jung Yu Mi)'s grandfathers. Moon Sang Min will be Seok Ban Hee, Seok Ji Hoon's grandfather and Bae Hyeon Seong will play the role of Yun Jae Ho, Yun Ji Won's grandfather. The two will be the reason why their families became enemies.

“Love Your Enemy” is a romance drama about “arch-nemeses” Seok Ji Won (Ju Ji Hoon) and Yoon Ji Won (Jung Yu Mi), who were born on the same day with the same name and whose families have been enemies for generations.

Once a charming student who excelled in both academics and sports, Seok Ji Won had to leave his hometown and school due to family circumstances but returned triumphantly as the chairman of the school foundation. There, he reunites with Yoon Ji Won, his old rival with whom he used to clash at every encounter back in school, for the first time in 18 years.

In a newly released still, Seok Ji Won appears serious and focused, holding documents and having a meeting with someone in his office. However, another image depicts his funny, displeased face as Yoon Ji Won pinches his cheek, highlighting a stark contrast between when he is at work and when he is with Yoon Ji Won.

 

The last still captures Seok Ji Won gazing down at Yoon Ji Won, raising curiosity about the emotions he may harbor for her that make him so different from his usual, composed self.
