The family photo in the end was ridiculous. After all that happened, restaurant mom had her ex not only at the wedding but also taking photo. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

They're technically in-laws now.

The Writer seemed to be promoting the adoption of orphans. WR & SJ adoption of a young orphan girl in the last episode strongly suggested it. I googled to find out more about this topic.

The punishment of JT & NY is loneliness and it can be painful and exhausting. They did not commit crimes which warrant a jail sentence. I thought MR would forgive JT at the last minute but it is not to be. As expected, NY made a 180° transformation and she seemed to be doing volunteer work at a child care centre of some sort.

YJ got away completely scot-free. 😤

Every character has a proper ending except YJ. JS should have divorced her long ago and both YJ & NY move to a village.

The drama ended well with a very heartwarming feeling.

I beg to differ. NY posting a manipulated video that is full of false impressions is a criminal act. The extent of the harm is deep and damaging. In some countries, it calls for imprisonment and a hefty fine. I am not sure what it is in SK. JT in a sense was accessory to a kidnapping is definitely due for imprisonment. NY was in collusion but well after the kidnapping, perhaps she won’t be imprisoned.

It’s the kumbaya ending that is probably demanded by Korean audiences but not necessarily with international viewers.

The father was played as a bumbling, kindhearted, filial son. He was so easy going that he did not mind his son dating DR, helped him to hide DR’s secret.
Nevertheless, his cheating had destroyed the FL’s family and throwing her to the mercy of a mean spirited step mother. He did not seem to mind what his wife and NY did to his daughter.  He struck me as a spineless character, hard as they tried to make him likeable.

The marriage of his ex wife and future in law does not call for him to be in her wedding, esp. it’s for the family. But even allowing some conflicted relationship, he and his mother ought to pay for not protecting SJ and also the 300k she borrowed to service his debts should be repaid.

I have often forgotten about the fake videos which NY posted online. 🤭🤭🤭 Agreed that NY could be charged for spreading fake information.

But JT is an accessory to HW's kidnapping?  Because he knew it was HW but did nothing to put things right?  I am not certain if that made JT an accessory.

Thank you for bringing up  these two points to me. ☺️

If one withholds information that leads to a crime, one is abetting it.
It’s a serious offence in many countries.
HJT withheld information for kidnapping to continue, that’s a serious crime. He did not take part in it, so not an accessory, my mistake, but he was abetting.

I remember the case of a woman who did not inform the police even though she knew that her husband had kidnapped and kept a woman in the cellar or basement room. She was initially charged with abetting, but was released because she was a victim of domestic violence.

Yes, abetting is the word.  I was trying to recall it.

But it it very odd that this Writer simply glossed over these 2 crimes.  Whoa!  Your brain is very sharp. 👍😁

I got tired of the story when the main couple got married, but watched the last episode... Na Young and her former father in law should have ended up together lol!

(And on that note, who remembers an older drama (not sure if it was 4 episodes only) where a woman in her thirties and a man in his 70s get together? I've been searching gor it since I accidentally chanced upon it years ago.)

It's a family drama. Everyone gets redeemed at the end and no one goes to jail. The biggest punishment for NY and her former father-in-law was that they will no longer be part of the family and not appear in the giant family photo.
