Light Shop owner Joo Ji-hoon serves the living and the dead

by tccolb

Disney+ announced that the mystery-horror Light Shop (previously translated as Lighting Store) will be coming to our screens in 2024, bringing together a talented group with Joo Ji-hoon (Jirisan) and Park Bo-young (Daily Dose of Sunshine) headlining the series.

In the latest adaptation from webtoon creator Kangfull’s robust collection of stories, the supernatural drama has Joo Ji-hoon taking on the central role as the owner of the title’s light shop. Mysteriously, the shop serves as a gateway connecting the mortal and spirit realms, causing the lives of both the living and the dead to intersect.

Unfortunately, though, there hasn’t been much released about the other characters in this new drama version, so we don’t yet know who will be playing who from the webtoon – or if there are any newly made or changed characters. The one crumb that has been confirmed is that Seolhyun (Summer Strike) will be playing a suspicious customer.

Presumably, there will be more than one customer and we certainly have a stacked list of cast members to fill out the world of Light Shop, with Bae Sung-woo (Live), Uhm Tae-gu (Hometown), and Lee Jung-eun (A Bloody Lucky Day) co-starring in the series.

Also listed in the long lineup are Kim Min-ha (Pachinko), Park Hyuk-kwon (A Time Called You), and Kim Dae-myung (Hospital Playlist), in addition to Shin Eun-soo (Twinkling Watermelon), Kim Sun-hwa (Three Bold Siblings), and Kim Ki-hae (Duty After School).

On the production side, actor Kim Hee-won (Behind Your Touch) has notably taken the reins in his first project as a drama director, while the original webtoonist Kangfull (Moving) is penning the scripts. Topping off at eight episodes, Light Shop is planning to release later this year on Disney+.

Park Bo Young’s Real Personality Unveiled As Production Crew Member’s Testimony Goes Viral

Serah S. Cherrie

They worked with the actress during her recent K-Drama.
A post written by a staff member who worked with actress Park Bo Young during the filming of her latest K-Drama is going viral on online communities for revealing the real personality of the actress.

The staff member “A,” who worked on the set of Park Bo Young’s upcoming drama Light Shop, mentioned that they were already excited about the filming since it was happening in their neighborhood. Since they were already a fan, the chance of witnessing the actress from up close was both exciting and terrifying for “A.”

While working in the industry, I also felt a bit skeptical about becoming a ‘fan’ of someone. Since I have witnessed firsthand how high expectations often lead to great disappointment, I couldn’t help feeling hesitant…Then, by chance, I found out that Park Bo Young sunbaenim was going to appear in Light Shop, and I couldn’t sleep well with anticipation for a while. However, I tried to soothe my heart in case I ended up disappointed.

— Crew member “A”

With a mixture of anticipation and anxiety, “A” finally got to meet Park Bo Young face to face and “breathed a sigh of relief.” They offered a detailed account of Park’s composure when on set, adding that working with her turned them into an even bigger fan of the actress.

Park Bo Young is someone who, even in difficult and annoying situations, doesn’t utter a single word of nonsense. She values those around her and wants to contribute in a meaningful way. Additionally, she is an actress with a wonderful attitude toward her work.

— Crew member “A”

Apart from her on-set attitude, “A” also mentioned how kind and caring Park was toward the filming crew. When the drama wrapped up filming, Park went up to “A” to give them a hug and suggested taking a photo together without even being asked. They concluded the post adding that they were proud to be a fan of Park Bo Young, wishing her health and success in life.

Meanwhile, Light Shop, which is scheduled to release this year, depicts the story of a light shop that connects the living with the dead. Apart from Park Bo Young, the star cast of the drama boasts names like Joo Ji Hoon, Bae Sung Woo, Lee Jung Eun, Kim Min Ha, and Kim Seol Hyun, among others.
