The second Korean drama I watched since I started watching them years ago, was Goblin. I really liked his character and acting abilities. He’s also very handsome. I’ve watched some of his other projects as well. Definitely a fan

@Kdrama91  this drama is simply amazing. Everything was just wow! I love everything about it. Funny, touching, sometimes tragic but always turning back on itself--it is romantic; well-written and directed. The cinematography was gorgeous. Breathtaking is the word. The best show ever in fantasy genre. I love the storyline! It's unique and has its own plot twists... The cast had a lot of popular actors. Love how they try to give us some good giggles during an emotional scene. Pretty much everything is perfection, flawless casting, flawless acting , and amazing story. I love the OST, too! Good, that you have watched it. "Goblin" has very good reviews from viewers. Even though the ending may be unexpected, but it contains a happy ending for all characters.   :kaching1:

dummy.jpeg?s=900x600&e=t

Welcome back to a new edition of the “Soompi & Viki Staff Talk”! This time, some of our staff members discuss our favorite K-drama bromances.

Here are our staff’s faves!

Warning: minor spoilers ahead

Natalie: Kim Shin & Grim Reaper (“Guardian: The Lonely and Great God”)

gong-yoo-lee-dong-wook.jpeg

There’s more to life than just Cinderella and Prince Charming, right? Life’s also about a lost goblin and a cold-hearted grim reaper who form a beautiful friendship…right? Whether you agree or not, you can’t deny that “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” (also known as “Goblin”) has the absolute best bromance duo, with the Goblin Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) and the Grim Reaper (Lee Dong Wook) showing off their insane chemistry that just flows out of the screen. The pair grows a distaste for one another as they begin cohabiting in Kim Shin’s house but soon develops a delicious love-hate relationship as they spend more time together and realize that they are more similar than they thought. Their quirky banter gives the drama a breeze of fresh air in the midst of its heavy plot. Also, Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook have stolen the hearts of many with their visual chemistry. If you don’t believe me, check out episode 2 at 1:15:16. If this doesn’t convince you to binge watch “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God,” what will?

Love Like That: 7 K-Dramas With Enviable Love Stories

Love is indeed a splendid thing, especially when it comes to K-dramas. From slow burn romances to laugh out loud rom-coms, fantastical tales of love and longing to bittersweet slice of life love stories, there is something in it for everyone.

From an eternal being’s search for his human bride, to love beyond enemy lines, and the toe curling CEO and secretary romances, these love stories have made viewers believe and fall in love all over again. Here are seven K-drama picks to watch if you want to bring back that loving feeling, especially during this Valentine’s Day.

Goblin

Goblin.jpg

A love that transcends galaxies, realms, and centuries, “Goblin” is a heart-wrenching tale of love and yearning. The invincible general Kim Shin, aka the goblin (Gong Yoo), is cursed to immortality. It’s been close to a century, and he roams the earth seeking his bride, who can help weld the sword stuck in his chest. The orphaned Ji Eun Tak (Kim Go Eun), who has had a tough life, has the knack to see ghosts. Unbeknownst to her, she is the talk of the metaphysical world as the “goblin’s bride.” There is also the disgruntled Grim Reper (Lee Dong Wook), who is Kim Shin’s housemate and is also tied to Eun Tak in a strange twist of fate. Eun Tak and the 900-year-old goblin embark on an unforgettable journey of love, laughter, and longing.

This drama is a beautifully made, picturesque show, though there are times when it does seem a bit stretched. The chemistry between the lead couple will make your heart skip a beat. And the bromance between Gong Yoo’s Kim Shin and Lee Dong Wook’s Grim Reaper is quite the highlight. “Goblin” has one of the most moving and sweet-sounding soundtracks. Do keep a box of tissues handy as you are likely to shed many sad tears as you watch this bittersweet love story.

*** We know that Chanel tapped LDW to endorse its first makeup collection for men — Boy de Chanel — in 2019 as the brand’s global ambassador. His luxurious image fits well with the brand. I mention this because I read an article that price increase, new policies and global inflation all play their roles in dissuading Koreans from buying Chanel products. Hence, Chanel is experiencing a declining appeal among Korean buyers. It came as no surprise when Chanel has been the talk of the town for the last two years. But, during my last visit in Seoul, I was surprised not to have to see a line of people in front of a Chanel store. Some years ago you always had to wait at least two hours to enter the store. Now, it is the first time that you didn’t have to wait and could go into the store right away. Why is the brand losing its appeal?  Chanel still has a place among the lives of the wealthy. This brand is targeting the super-rich.   :7555_attack:

Soompi & Viki Staff Talk: What Is Your Favorite K-Drama Featuring Romance With An Otherworldly Being?

“Soompi & Viki Staff Talk” has returned with another drama discussion! For this edition, some of our staff members talk about fantasy K-dramas that feature romance with an otherworldly being.

These are our staff’s favorites!

Warning: minor spoilers ahead

Sehee: “Tale of the Nine-Tailed

tale-of-the-nine-tailed.jpeg

Among the long list of fantasy romance K-dramas, one of my favorites is “Tale of the Nine-Tailed.” The drama tells the story of a male gumiho (mythical nine-tailed fox) named Lee Yeon (Lee Dong Wook) who has settled in the city and the fearless producing director named Nam Ji Ah (Jo Bo Ah) who is trying to find out the truth behind the disappearance of her parents. The gumiho appears commonly in this genre, yet this particular drama takes this legend to the next level. The drama emphasizes the inevitable and necessary bond between Lee Yeon and Nam Ji Ah, which pushes viewers to support the couple during their complicated journey. They are connected by their past and present, making their relationship complex and heartwarming.

2. "Goblin: The Lonely And Great God"

3 K-Dramas To Watch If You Like "Kokdu: Seasons Of Diety"

Starring: Gong Yoo, Kim GoEun, Lee DongWook, Yoo InA and BTOB's SungJae

Summary: Kim Shin (Gong Yoo) was an unbeatable general, also loved by the common public, but things went downhill when the young king began to feel threatened by his power. Kim Shin is ordered to be killed but he comes back to life as a Dokkaebi (Goblin). His immortal life once felt like a blessing, but he soon realized that it was a curse. The only one who can free him will be the 'Goblin's Bride', the only one who can pull out the sword from his chest.

Ji EunTak (Kim GoEun) is a high school student who can see ghosts and they tell her that she is the goblin's wife. On her birthday, she blows out her birthday candle when Kim Shin appears before her. And so begins a warm yet tragic tale of love.

Reasons To Watch: If you loved the story of a super natural being cursed for eternity and a human who can be the only one to end it, this drama is for you. Just like how Han GyeJeol can put an end to Kokdu's eternal life, Ji EunTak could put an end to the Goblin's curse. Both dramas provide a beautiful love story, heart-warming moments, cold yet adorable deities and much more!

3. "The Tale Of The Nine Tailed"

3 K-Dramas To Watch If You Like "Kokdu: Seasons Of Diety"

4 Hot K-Drama Psychopaths Who Would Destroy Each Other If Put In A Room Together

Who do you think would win if these K-Drama villains were put in a room together? Vote for your pick at the end of our article!

kdrama-villains.png

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if all the greatest psychopathic villains from K-Dramas were to have a showdown? Well, you've come to the right place. We picked 4 "hot" psychopaths from K-Dramas that we thought would be perfect for this simulation. When it comes to intelligence, physical prowess, viciousness, and more, which villain, if any, would emerge victorious? Check out our analysis below and vote for your pick in the poll at the end of the article!

Spoiler Alert!

1. Seo MoonJo played by Lee DongWook - "Strangers From Hell"

seo-moonjo-strangers-from-hell.jpg

Seo MoonJo is no textbook psychopath, and Lee DongWook does a marvelous job at making sure we know that. He is extremely sharp, manipulative, and outright insane. He is also physically strong but arguably not an unbeatable fighter, but he makes up for it with his foresight. Fans also theorize that Seo MoonJo wasn't born a psychopath, but this villainous identity was created by his abusive mother. So, even though he is way off from being human, he does get swayed by his emotions, which is a considerable weakness. However, at the end of "Strangers From Hell", it is rather ambiguous whether Seo MoonJo is actually killed, and many fans believe that he is still very much alive, which means that he is much bigger a mastermind than we thought. In a showdown with other villains, he might be the one faking his death and walking out alive.

*** Lee Dong Wook discussed his YouTube appearance and complained about how YouTube has been his representative work nowadays. Yesterday, March 11th, an episode of YouTube content “Just an excuse” was posted on the YouTube channel ”DdeunDdeun”. He grumbled that people are forgetting about his acting profession in lieu of his YouTube appearances. “Is ‘Just an excuse’ my representative work? People are always discussing it”. In response, Yoo Jae Suk teased him, saying, “Your works haven’t been released yet, so for now your representative work so far is ‘Just an excuse’.”  Hearing this he protested, “I filmed a drama and two movies,” but Yoo Jae Suk countered that they have not aired yet. In the end, he invoked laughter by admitting, “Yes, they haven’t come out yet, so my representative work is "Just an excuse’. Every staff member I met while filming, and even my fellow actors said they are enjoying my YouTube appearance.”    :Megalol:

*** Yes, even with just a basic white shirt on, LDW never fails to make us swoon! Basic white tees have become a style staple in everyone's wardrobe. A basic white shirt is a true must-have for men. And let's admit it, a true test of dapperness is how our favorite oppa rocks a plain white T-shirt. How can a simple piece look so sexy, huh? He can pull off and

standout even with just this piece on.  :kaching1:
