:

<Judge from Hell>

The conflict between angels and devils that lies deep inside,
standing on the border between good and evil, facing countless conflicts alone,
overcoming conflicts, and finally making a big choice.

At that time, at that moment,
if Satan had just passed by the Jeong family, if he had walked a little later,
then, perhaps, Seon-ho would have received much love and grown up.

In a split second, everything changed,
and he had no choice but to rely on drugs.

Seon-ho, who did not know the existence of the devil, the existence of Satan,
the cause of his family's tragedy, the reason for his crime,
everything.

Lastly,
since he was cowardly but could not stand anywhere,
Seon-ho accepted everything and asked for forgiveness by choosing his own death.

Even if it was an intentional act,
I would have gone to hell for the responsibility of a great mistake,
so I sincerely hope that he repents his sins there and is reincarnated as a good child.

-

A work that approached the unknown great dimensions of the world,
like a play, or perhaps, like a cruel fairy tale.

It was a role that was difficult to express mentally,
but it was a work created together with the respected production staff and precious actors.

I was honored and happy to have been able to participate as a member.

Goodbye.

SBS's Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge from Hell' left a deep impression on viewers as it reached its final episode. This drama, which featured Park Shin-hye and Lee Kyu-han's outstanding acting transformation, garnered attention for its complex characters that cross the line between good and evil, and even hinted at the possibility of a season 2, further heightening expectations.

Park Shin-hye's 'Kang Bit-na' transforms into a devilish judge and draws the crossroads of good and evil

Park Shin-hye completely transformed from her previous innocent image into the evil judge 'Kang Bit-na'.

In the drama, Kang Bit-na is a judge who sternly punishes the sins of the wicked, and shows her extremely evil side by sending humans to hell according to her standards of judgment. Park Shin-hye showed her cool eyes, cold expression, and merciless actions when dealing with criminals, and showed her acting that is optimized for the drama genre called 'dopamine-popping cider action fantasy'. In particular, her intense facial expression changes in the judgment scene and her detailed acting in the situational drama gave viewers a sense

of vicarious satisfaction and garnered attention day after day. In the last episode, Kang Bit-na was depicted as she deeply contemplates her identity and justice and searches for a new path. In the end, she gets a chance to return to being human, and she gently resonates with viewers by raising the topic of 'what is true justice'. Park Shin-hye skillfully controlled her complex emotional line and earnestly expressed Kang Bit-na's human growth, receiving enthusiastic reviews from the public.

Lee Kyu-han's 'Jeong Tae-gyu', an overwhelming presence as a crazy villain
Lee Kyu-han gave a passionate performance as the villain 'Jung Tae-gyu', the ex-fiancé of Kang Bit-na, played by Park Shin-hye, and a man who acts thoroughly for his own desires. Jung Tae-gyu appears to be a well-mannered person on the outside, but he hides his mean spirit of manipulating and threatening people behind the scenes. Lee Kyu-han gave viewers goosebumps with his lines and facial expressions that pressured others, revealing hidden cynicism along with a

subtle smile. In particular, despite being a character dealing with villains, his delicate psychological expressions maximized his appeal as a villain, making it impossible for viewers to take their eyes off him. Jung Tae-gyu's mad acting to achieve what he wants heightened the tension of the drama and successfully highlighted Lee Kyu-han's presence as a villain.

The ending leaves a touching aftertaste and the possibility of a season 2

This drama, which featured the outstanding acting transformations of Park Shin-hye and Lee Kyu-han, garnered attention for its complex characters that straddle the line between good and evil, and is even hinting at the possibility of a season 2, further raising expectations.

'Judge from Hell' left a touching aftertaste in the last episode as Kang Bit-na got a chance to return to being human. She looks back at the villains she punished and struggles on the border between good and evil, making her think about each person's justice and responsibility. The ending raises curiosity about whether Kang Bit-na will be able to live a life as a human again, and includes elements that hint at her future journey, raising expectations for Season 2.

This drama maintained tension until the end with Park Shin-hye and Lee Kyu-han's perfect characterization and immersive acting, leaving viewers with a deep aftertaste. The complex story of the two main characters, where good and evil are intertwined, is likely to be explored in more depth in Season 2. The production team is also said to be planning an expanded worldview along with a follow-up story, stimulating fans' anticipation.

'Judge from Hell' has established itself as a work that poses questions about human nature to viewers by unfolding an interesting story along with confrontations with various villains. This drama, which stands out for the groundbreaking acting transformation of Park Shin-hye and Lee Kyu-han, will remain in the memories of fans for a long time.

Actor Kim Jae-young opened up about malicious comments and a slump.

On the 5th, Kim Jae-young met with Ten Asia at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul and told various stories about the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge from Hell' (hereafter referred to as 'Judge from Hell').

'Judge from Hell' is an action fantasy drama about a demon Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye) who enters the body of a judge, meets a humane and passionate detective Han Da-on (played by Kim Jae-young) in a hellish reality, punishing criminals and being reborn as a true judge. In the drama, Kim Jae-young plays the role of Han Da-on, a detective in the Violent Crimes Unit 2 of Nobong Police Station and a bereaved family member of the J serial murder case. Kim

Jae-young said that he has been in a slump since appearing in 'Love is Beautiful, Life is Wonderful' (2019). He said, "I took a break for almost a year after filming a weekend drama. I had a lot of worries and was depressed at that time. I think I felt relatively inadequate because I saw people who were doing well," and "Joo Woo-jae hyung would come to my house often. Whenever I wavered, he would tell me that I did well and that I should feel good. After that, I felt that I should live my life satisfied with what I do." He said that he overcame his slump by appearing in "Someone Who Resembles You" starring Go Hyun-jung. However, he confessed that he still feels anxious when he has no projects.

When asked if Joo Woo-jae is a benefactor, Kim Jae-young waved his hand and said, "Not really. I've done a lot for him too. Woo-jae hyung doesn't have a hard time, but he does get lonely sometimes. I give him a lot of joy," he said with a laugh. He also says

that he searches his name on the Internet to check out all the responses. Kim Jae-young said, "That's all I can do at home. At first, there were many reactions telling me to get off because I was chasing after Judge Kang Bit-na and getting in the way. I felt bad at that time. It was a drama that I worked hard to film. Then, when more people started liking it, I felt good. In the past, it wasn't easy to escape malicious comments. I saw all the real-time chats, but I didn't this time. I heard people saying, 'Die.'" He also expressed his disappointment.

[News N reporter Ha Ji-won] Kim Jae-young from 'Judge from Hell' shared his thoughts on working with Park Shin-hye.

On November 5, Kim Jae-young met with Newsen at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and had an interview to commemorate the end of the SBS drama 'Judge from Hell' (written by Jo Yi-soo/directed by Park Jin-pyo).

Kim Jae-young plays the role of passionate detective Han Da-on and leads the drama together with Park Shin-hye, who plays Kang Bit-na.

Kim Jae-young honestly confessed that when he heard that he would be working with Park Shin-hye as his co-star, he thought, "That's right!" Kim Jae-young said, "Park Shin-hye's works have done well, and there are many dramas that have done well on SBS. I thought, 'This will do well.' The director and everyone else seemed to think that way."

Kim Jae-young said that he was surprised by Park Shin-hye's physical strength and mental strength, saying, "She maintains neutrality well. There were no ups and downs. I think I had a harder time. I tried hard to keep up with Park Shin-hye while watching her. People say that Park Shin-hye, the main character, is the most important role, and that she held it well without wavering, so they filmed happily. I felt that a lot and relied on her a lot."

Kim Jae-young mentioned the amusement park scene, saying, "The action scenes were all in sync, but Park Shin-hye said to improvise. She was really good at it. It was amazing. The action scenes for the character Kang Bit-na took a really long time to film. She really enjoyed them every time."

Kim Jae-young said that Park Shin-hye led the way even when filming a romantic comedy scene, saying, "Park Shin-hye seems to have the look in her eyes and the changes in her expression. She expressed it lovably well. I felt, 'She's good at romantic comedies. '"

Kim Jae-young said that he was very nervous before his kissing scene with Park Shin-hye, saying, "I think I stuttered. Park Shin-hye even asked, 'Why are you so nervous? ' It's been a while since I've done a kissing scene. I forgot how to kiss. When you watch a drama, you don't film it once, but several times mashed together, so I was nervous. I didn't even eat dinner properly when filming."

Kim Jae-young also confessed to his worries, saying, "I was worried that Choi Tae-joon might not like it if there was a sweet scene. I thought, 'It's work, so it'll be okay. '"

Meanwhile, 'Judge from Hell', which ended on the 2nd, is an action fantasy about the coexistence of good and evil where Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye) who enters the body of a judge meets the humane and passionate detective Han Da-on (played by Kim Jae-young) in a hellish reality and is reborn as a true judge by punishing criminals. The work gained great popularity, recording a peak viewership rating of 13.6%. (Based on Nielsen Korea nationwide households)

[Sports Korea Reporter Kim Hyun-hee] Actress Park Shin-hye has created a new life character by displaying fresh acting skills that she has never shown before through 'Judge from Hell'.

The SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge from Hell', which first aired on September 21st,  started with a viewership rating of 6.8% for the first episode, rising to 8.0% for the third episode, 9.3% for the fifth episode, and then recorded its highest viewership rating of 13.6% for the eighth episode. The final episode of the drama, which has been consistently loved since then, recorded 11.9% nationwide, 11.3% in the metropolitan area, and a peak viewership rating of 14.7%, ranking first among all channels in the same time slot, first among Saturday miniseries, and first among weekly miniseries. The 2049 viewership rating, which is used as a key indicator for advertisers, also ranked first among all programs broadcast on Saturdays on all channels, with 4.3%.

'Judge from Hell' is an action fantasy about the coexistence of good and evil where the demon Kang Bit-na, who enters the body of a judge, meets the humane and passionate detective Han Da-on in a hellish reality and is reborn as a true judge by punishing criminals.

Park Shin-hye played the role of Kang Bit-na, who entered the body of a judge, and gave a passionate performance. Through this work, she showed off a fresh charm by showing off a cool-headed appearance that she had not shown before, and punished criminals with a single stroke. In addition, she caught the attention of viewers by showing off her visuals that were unprecedented.

In the final episode of 'Judge from Hell' that aired on the 2nd, Kang Bit-na sent Jeong Tae-gyu (Lee Kyu-han) to hell by executing him, presenting a bitter ending. In addition, he was given three years to live as a human by the devil Bael (Shin Sung-rok). Kang Bit-na lived her life as a judge, and at the same time, she did her best to love Han Da-on (Kim Jae-young) during the time given. In the process, Kang Bit-na accepted Bael's offer to let her live as a human if she sent 10 criminals to hell, and Han Da-on told Kang Bit-na, "I will respect your choice." After that, a criminal appeared in front of Kang Bit-na, and Kang Bit-na introduced herself as "the judge from hell," and the drama ended.

◇A new look that sheds the 'Cinderella' character... The perfect trio of cool, cool, and cheerful

Park Shin-hye shed her 'Cinderella' image through 'Judge from Hell'.

Park Shin-hye has appeared in various works such as 'Stairway to Heaven', 'The Heirs', and 'Doctor Slump'. In particular, in her previous works, she mainly played the role of 'Cinderella', who "overcomes difficult situations with strength." However, in this 'Judge from Hell', Park Shin-hye completely shed that image and created a new life character.

In the drama, Park Shin-hye plays the role of the demon Justitia, who entered the body of judge Kang Bit-na. Under the orders of the demon Bael, she was ordered to judge 10 sinners and send them to hell. Kang Bit-na judges and punishes the sinners herself. Park Shin-hye, who played this character, expressed the appearance of the demon in detail from head to toe.

When punishing the criminal, Park Shin-hye showed off her acting skills that we have never seen before, with her cold eyes acting and her mouth smiling but showing a murderous expression. In addition, she showed off a new side of Park Shin-hye by acting with clear diction of lines and a deep but high-toned voice.

Not only that, he also created a pleasant chemistry with Kim In-kwon, who played the role of his assistant Gu Man-do in the drama, and made people laugh. Gu Man-do was dispirited by Kang Bit-na's words, but he said what he wanted to say, and at the same time, he helped Kang Bit-na with her hardships, or when Kang Bit-na was angry, he made remarks that touched on facts, making her even angrier. Kang Bit-na glared at Gu Man-do, who she found annoying but couldn't hate, and gave him a sharp remark, leaving a humorous point in the drama.

In this way, Park Shin-hye displayed a variety of charms through her character in this work, showing off a new side of herself and presenting a fresh charm.

◇'Stylish King Devil' Never Seen Before... 'Eye-catching' visuals of all time

Park Shin-hye captured the attention of female viewers with her glamorous yet elegant style in 'Judge from Hell'.

'Devil Kang Bit-na' is a character who likes to shop and dress up, and Park Shin-hye is showing off her 'Kuku (decorated and decorated)' styling that fully embodies the character's characteristics through items such as 'tweed' and 'set-up suits'.

She expressed the bubbly charm of the character 'Kang Bit-na' through a jacket and skirt set-up in vivid colors such as pink, yellow, and green, and while making the professional expertise of the 'judge' stand out with the set-up suit, he also captured the extraordinary charm of 'Kang Bit-na' with strong colors such as pink and red. She also caught people's attention by wearing a daring pink jacket and shorts set-up in a scene where she shows off bare-handed action that doesn't spare her body.

In this way, Park Shin-hye not only provided viewers with acting but also various styles, creating a buzz every time, and female viewers were impressed by her fashion sense.

◇Actress Park Shin-hye, 21 years since her debut, what are the limits of her potential?… 'Infinity'

Even though it's been 21 years since Park Shin-hye debuted, she showed a new side of herself through 'Judge from Hell', and expectations are high for the new side of her she will show in the future.

Park Shin-hye, who debuted in the entertainment industry in 2003 through singer Lee Seung-hwan's "Flower" music video, has since been actively acting in various works. Through numerous works, she has shown solid acting skills and expressed each role with her own acting style, and as a result, she has become a "trustworthy actor" to the public.

[Desk Column] It is justice that a person who has committed a crime is punished
  • Approved 2024.11.05 21:40

2024110601000122200008101.jpg Vice President Lee Sang-hwan

In the final episode of the recently aired TV drama “Judge from Hell,” the words left by the main character, Judge Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye), from hell, suddenly come to mind. In response to the question of what justice is posed by children visiting the court in the drama, Judge Kang left a simple but strong message, “Justice is when those who commit crimes are punished.” The people would want a just society where those who commit crimes are punished, as Judge Kang said.

Recently, our society has been increasingly showing group behavior that does not accept the rulings of the judiciary. The biggest reason for this is probably that the legal profession in our country has lost the trust of the people due to many rulings that go against the public sentiment. The lenient rulings of the judiciary for conglomerate CEOs and big-time politicians have even led to the saying, “The innocent are guilty, the innocent are guilty.” In addition, the political world cannot be left out as one of the causes that is encouraging this phenomenon. It has become a daily routine for people to intimidate the judiciary when a ruling goes against their own political party or faction.

On the 15th and 25th, Lee Jae-myung, the leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, is scheduled to be sentenced for 'violation of the Public Official Election Act' and 'false testimony instigation case', respectively. First, the court will sentence Lee Jae-myung, who is accused of publishing two false facts during the last presidential election, at 2:30 PM on the 15th in the first trial. The prosecution has demanded a sentence of two years in prison for Lee. If this case, which was indicted in September 2022, proceeds as scheduled, the first trial will be sentenced in two years and two months. Lee's election law trial was held a total of 27 times over two years. There is a mandatory provision that election law cases must be sentenced in the first trial within six months, but it has been delayed by over a year and a half. If a fine of 1 million won or more is confirmed in this case, Lee will lose his seat in the National Assembly and will be restricted from being elected for five years. He will not be able to run in the next presidential election. In this case, the Democratic Party must also return the 43.4 billion won it received as campaign expenses for the previous presidential election to the National Election Commission.

For the Democratic Party, this is both a crisis and an opportunity. If they overcome this crisis well, the presidential election train of Representative Lee and the Democratic Party will be on a smooth track. If the judicial risk becomes a reality, it will obviously be a fatal blow to the party, and the ruling party may lose control of politics. In this situation, the 'Myeong Tae-gyun incident' involving the presidential couple is a windfall for the Democratic Party. This is because the Democratic Party cannot miss this opportunity. The Democratic Party, which even went outside the National Assembly, held a 'National Rally to Denounce Kim Gun-hee' on the 2nd, and announced that it would process the Kim Gun-hee Special Prosecutor Act plenary session on the 14th, the day before the ruling. On the 9th, the two major labor unions and leftist groups will gather. Everyone knows that the extra-parliamentary struggle led by the Myeong Tae-gyun recording and the Kim Gun-hee special prosecutor is ultimately about 'bulletproofing Lee Jae-myung.' The Democratic Party has not only delayed the trial of Representative Lee for two years and “obstructed justice,” but has also paralyzed the government’s functions by impeaching State Council members, and has not hesitated to retaliate and intimidate judges and prosecutors by impeaching them. It is possible to guess that there is an underlying intention to shake up the judiciary.

In this way, November, when Representative Lee’s sentencing is scheduled one after another, is virtually like the calm before a storm. Regardless of the verdict, an extreme confrontation between the two camps seems inevitable. If a verdict is unfavorable to the Democratic Party, even more extreme intimidation of the judiciary and a runaway National Assembly are expected. They may even have to endure impeachment. The current administration and the People Power Party, which have lost the trust of the people, have no alternative to stop the Democratic Party’s runaway. They seem overwhelmed by their own worries, unable to escape the “Kim Kun-hee-Myeong Tae-gyun black hole.” The behavior of the two camps, who do not even consider the people, is deplorable. In the end, the damage will be borne by the people.

The People Power Party and the Democratic Party may have different intentions ahead of the sentencing, but both said they expect the judiciary to make a wise judgment. The standards for a wise judgment may be different, but this time, I hope everyone will humbly accept the results. Now, the judgment is up to the judiciary. No matter who the parties are, the political situation should not affect the judgment. They just need to make a fair and just judgment based on legal principles.

The Judge from Hell's Park Shin Hye shared her closing remarks and behind-the-scenes story of the K-drama.

The Judge from Hell is an action fantasy K-drama about a demon, Kang Bit Na (Park Shin Hye), who inhabits the body of an elite judge. In a hellish reality, she meets the passionate human detective Han Da On (Kim Jae Young) and becomes a true judge by dispensing justice to wrongdoers.

In The Judge from Hell, Park Shin Hye played the role of Kang Bit Na, a character who sends sinners to hell by giving them a taste of their own medicine. Park’s performance surprised viewers; her dynamic banter with other characters and unconventional lines and actions amplified her character's multifaceted charm.

NdNDZJ_2f.png

Here is a Q&A of Park Shin Hye:

What are your thoughts on the conclusion of The Judge from Hell?

It feels like it will be an unforgettable project. Although there were challenging moments during the seven months of filming, I have more joyful and happy memories overall.

You received a lot of love for showing a new side of yourself in this role. How do you feel about that?

Above all, I was glad and happy to hear people say, 'I didn't know Park Shin Hye had this kind of side [to her].' I think being an actor means being chosen by someone and, in some ways, constantly waiting. I am truly grateful to have been given the chance to portray a character like Kang Bit Na after waiting for a role with this kind of complexity.

yWb8pB_2f.png

Kang Bit Na, an unconventional character, received a lot of love from viewers. Could you share what mindset you had when you took on the character of Kang Bitna and what aspects you focused on in terms of acting?

To portray Bit Na, I tried to appear kind without actually being kind. I paid extra attention to my speech, expressions, and tone of voice so that viewers wouldn't feel uncomfortable watching her deal with older or victimized characters. Since Kang Bit Na has a lively, sparkling personality like a fizzy drink, I also practiced a lot to bring out that 'pop' in her speech, focusing on pacing and the distinct flavor of her words.

b3EDpw_2f.png

A lot of effort was put into showcasing Kang Bit Na's personality, such as wearing about 300 outfits. Was there anything you paid special attention to when selecting costumes to portray Kang Bit Na?

I aimed for a colorful concept, choosing impactful colors like pink, blue, and red, and adding accents to darker tones. In the script, there were often notes describing Bit Na as wearing 'beautiful and flashy clothes' when she punishes the criminals. While some outfits were for action [scenes], I tried to ensure they stayed in line with Bit Na's love for flashiness. Since we needed various looks, including homewear, outfits for her justice scenes, and everyday wear, the styling team had a hard time because I had to wear a lot of outfits.

Actor Kim Jae-young of 'Judge from Hell' confessed that he had an experience of losing consciousness on set.

On the 5th, Kim Jae-young met with Star News at a cafe in Gangnam-gu, Seoul and talked about the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge from Hell' (written by Jo Yi-soo, directed by Park Jin-pyo),

which ended on the 2nd. 'Judge from Hell' is an action fantasy about a demon Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye) who enters the body of a judge, meets the humane and passionate detective Han Da-on (played by Kim Jae-young) in a hellish reality, and is reborn as a true judge by punishing criminals. Kim Jae-young plays detective Han Da-on of the Violent Crimes Unit 2 of Nobong Police Station.

On this day, Kim Jae-young said about the character Han Da-on, "Isn't Han Da-on a human? The director said he wanted me to act as a mediator between the drama and reality. At first, I heard some bad things, but later on, the viewers understood."

Kim Jae-young also said, "There was a part where I had to express my emotions, and that part was a bit difficult. It was hard to prepare for it to explode. That's why the director helped me a lot."

Kim Jae-young revealed that he lost consciousness while doing action scenes. He said, "In fact, I fainted when we were filming an action scene in the middle of summer. After that, I felt that my body wasn't the same as before. I started to be more careful about safety." He continued,

"It was really hot in the bus action scene, and I was so tired that I fainted. I couldn't breathe for a moment. I was really scared. It was the first time in my life that I fainted, so I was really surprised. I always thought I had to be careful every time I did an action scene. I was really surprised, thinking, 'What if I do something wrong?' But the people around me handled it well."
