The Judge from Hell is an ongoing K-drama starring Park Shin Hye in the lead role. The show consists of a unique plot where a judge appears to be a human but is actually a demon. She follows the lifelong mission of bringing justice to the evil people and sending them straight to where they deserve. However, new stills of the show have been released featuring Park Shin Hye showcasing genuine emotions towards Kim Jae Young.

On November 1, 2024, the production team of The Judge from Hell released several stills featuring the leads, Park Shin Hye as Kang Bit Na and Kim Jae Young as Han Da On. In the new images, Kang Bit Na and Han Da On are in court for Jung Tae Gyu’s trial, each assuming their roles as judge and witness. Kang Bit Na’s usual demeanor shifts to one of solemnity as she observes Han Da On, the sole survivor of Jung Tae Gyu’s killing spree and a grieving individual who lost his entire family to the brutal murders. Han Da On’s sorrow and rage are unmistakable in his trembling gaze as he steps up to testify.

As she witnesses Han Da On’s anguish, tears gather in Kang Bit Na’s eyes, revealing her deepened empathy. Her reaction intensifies the anticipation around the pivotal direction of how the story will ultimately pan out.

 

The story centers on Kang Bit Na, an elite judge with a stunning appearance who is actually a demon. Her mission is to eliminate malevolent individuals who lead others to their deaths and show no remorse. After dispatching them to Hell, she continues her dark work.

Kang Bit Na’s life takes a dramatic turn when she encounters Han Da On, a friendly and perceptive detective with a sharp mind and a feeling of hidden sorrow. As their paths intertwine, both their lives are profoundly altered.

Apart from Park Shin Hye, the cast of the K-drama includes Kim Jae Young, Kim In Kwon, Kim Hye Hwa, Lee Joong Ok, Choi Dong Goo, Lee Mi Do, Lee Kyu Han, Do Eun Ha, and more. In the final episode of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge from Hell' that aired on the 2nd, Han Da-on (Kim Jae-young) was shown shedding tears in front of Kang Bit-na (Park Shin-hye).

 

On this day, Han Da-on and Gu Man-do (Kim In-kwon) met at Oh Mi-ja's (Kim Young-ok) funeral. Jang Myeong-sook (Kim Jae-hwa) asked Han Da-on, "Have you eaten? Your Honor." Kang Bit-na had been sentenced to death. Han Da-on, unable to accept the reality, caressed Kang Bit-na's face and shed tears. As Han Da-on's tears fell, Kang Bit-na's heart began to beat again.

 

Bael (Shin Sung-rok), who confronted Kang Bit-na at the gates of death, said, "You must have thought about paying the price. The moment you disobeyed my orders, you are neither qualified to be my successor nor qualified to be a devil," and told her to at least make an excuse. However, Kang Bit-na countered, saying, "I made the judgment according to my conscience as a judge," and that it was a choice she had no regrets about.

 

 

 

 

At that time, Gabriel (Kim Young-ok), the messenger of God, appeared and said, "God has given life to the demon Justitia, so obey God's command." Kang Bit-na asked, "You're here, so do you mean you died to save me?" Gabriel said, "You're the last good person I have to save, a pitiful person. That's all." He said that the release of Jeong Tae-gyu (Lee Kyu-han) was the last test.

 

However, news came that Jeong Tae-gyu had disappeared. 'Judge From Hell' ended on a high note, with a thrilling and refreshing ending.

According to the viewership ratings research company Nielsen Korea on November 3, the final episode of the SBS Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge From Hell' (written by Jo Yi-soo/directed by Park Jin-pyo and Jo Eun-ji/produced by Studio S) that aired on November 2 recorded 11.9% nationwide, 11.3% in the metropolitan area, and a peak viewership rating of 14.7%, ranking first across all channels in the same time slot, first among Saturday miniseries, and first among weekly miniseries. The 2049 viewership rating, which is used as a key indicator for advertisers, also ranked first among all programs aired on Saturdays across all channels, with 4.3%. 'Judge From Hell' swept various first places up until its final episode amidst the passionate love of viewers, ending on a high note.

The final episode of 'Judge from Hell', which was released amidst heated interest, showed the thrilling cider of punishing human trash who deserve to die and sending them to hell, as well as the true meaning and love of a judge. Kang Bit-na received a three-year sentence from Bael and spent her time as a real judge. Kang Bit-na and Han Da-on loved each other as best they could, even though the time was limited. Kang Bit-na also checked what kind of lives the bereaved families of the cases she had judged were living, and she remembered the meaning of a real judge.

When two out of three years had passed, Bael appeared. Bael told Kang Bit-na about the offer from the king of hell, Lucifer, who said that if she killed 10 sinners and sent them to hell in one year, she would be able to live as a human. Kang Bit-na was troubled. Han Da-on said that he would believe in Kang Bit-na no matter what choice she made and stayed by her side. In front of such Kang Bit-na, another piece of human trash who deserves to die appeared again, and her eyes sparkled. The final episode ended with Kang Bit-na introducing herself as a “judge from hell” and smiling wickedly but lovingly. “Judge from Hell

SBS’s “The Judge from Hell” wrapped up its run as the most-watched miniseries of the entire week!

 

On November 2, the fantasy drama ended its run at the top of its time slot. According to Nielsen Korea, the series finale of “The Judge from Hell” scored an average nationwide rating of 11.9 percent, taking first place in its time slot across all channels—and making it the most-watched miniseries to air this week.

 

“The Judge from Hell” was also the most-watched show of Saturday among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it earned an average rating of 4.3 percent for its final episode.

'Judge from Hell' season 2 has been hinted at.

In the final episode of SBS' Friday-Saturday drama 'Judge from Hell' that aired on the 2nd, a scene was shown where Bael (played by Shin Sung-rok) offered Kang Bit-na (played by Park Shin-hye) a chance to become human.

Kang Bit-na, who received a three-year vacation from hell, started a full-fledged relationship with Han Da-on (played by Kim Jae-young) and continued her satisfying life. However, with about a year of vacation left, Bael (played by Shin Sung-rok) came to see Kang Bit-na.

He said to Kang Bit-na, "Are you having fun playing judge? There's something more fun..." and "Lucifer has made you an offer. If you kill ten sinners and send them to hell during the remaining year, I'll let you live as a human." Then he added, "Of course, I want you to refuse. You're still my successor. The sooner you make a choice, the better. Lucifer has a hasty personality," and disappeared.

Kang Bit-na, who wanted to live with Han Da-on as a human for the rest of her life, fell into deep thought. Kang Bit-na confided her worries to Han Da-on directly. Kang

Bit-na said, "If you want to kill a criminal, you have to give them a light sentence in court and let them go. Then you have to hurt the victim and their family again. I know how wronged they are, so I don't think that's qualified to be a judge."

Han Da-on said to Kang Bit-na, "I trust you no matter what choice you make. Because you'll make a wise choice," and supported Kang Bit-na's choice with affectionate eyes.

At the end of the drama, young children who came to the Seoul Central District Court where Kang Bit-na works for a field trip asked Kang Bit-na with innocent expressions, "Are you a bad judge? Or a good judge?" Kang Bit-na introduced herself with a meaningful smile and ended the drama by saying, "If you ask me what kind of judge I am, I'm a judge from hell."
