The Tale of Lady Ok tells the story of Ok Tae Young (Im Ji Yeon), a woman whose name, status, and husband are all fake, and Cheon Seung Hwi (Choo Young Woo), a storyteller who risked his life to protect her.

In the K-drama, Kim Jae Won plays Sung Do Gyeom, Ok Tae Yeong's brother-in-law, and Yeonwoo plays Cha Mi Ryeong, a woman who sees Ok Tae Young as her role model.

Sung Do Gyeom has always sincerely respected and admired his sister-in-law Ok Tae Young since childhood. He worked hard to become Ok Tae Young's pride and returned home in glory after passing the civil service exam. Thanks to this, he has become a remarkable young man that everyone in the neighborhood envies.

Then there is Cha Mi Ryeong, a woman learning under Ok Tae Young. She is warm, kind-hearted, confident, cannot overlook injustice, follows Ok Tae Young, and is passionate about becoming like her. However, Cha Mi Ryeong harbors a secret that no one knows about.

In the stills, Sung Do Gyeom exudes the aura of a perfect nobleman's son with his dignified and upright demeanor, while Cha Mi Ryeong, dressed in a bright hanbok, appears simple yet beautiful.

Curiosity grows as to how their tales will intertwine with the dangerous con game involving the fake Ok Tae Young and Cheon Seung Hwi.

Watch: Lim Ji Yeon Conceals Her Slave Identity And Lives As A Noblewoman In New Drama “The Tale Of Lady Ok” Teaser

Upcoming JTBC drama “The Tale of Lady Ok” has shared a new teaser!

“The Tale of Lady Ok” tells the intense survival con game of runaway slave Goo Deok Yi (Lim Ji Yeon), who assumes the identity of Lady Ok Tae Young after faking her name, status, and even her husband, and Cheon Seung Hwi (Choo Young Woo), who risks everything to protect her.

The newly released teaser highlights the teamwork of those helping Goo Deok Yi, further building anticipation for the drama.

In the video, the chaotic life of the fake Lady Ok Tae Young takes center stage. As the day unfolds, Cha Mi Ryeong (Yeonwoo) asks a question about her loneliness, which seems almost out of place. While Ok Tae Young is called by different names by those around her, she silences Cheon Seung Hwi when he refers to her as Goo Deok Yi, hinting at a complicated and intriguing relationship between them.

In an unexpected twist, Ok Tae Young, usually the picture of noblewoman grace, is shown skillfully sweeping the yard and making pancakes—tasks that even the servant, Dokki (Oh Dae Hwan), finds astonishing. But the surprises don’t stop there. As the story progresses, the quirky characters surrounding the fake Ok Tae Young continue to steal the spotlight. Cheon Seung Hwi’s servant, Man Seok (Lee Jae Won), casually refers to “the lady’s servant days,” a remark that catches everyone off guard. Meanwhile, the servant Mak Shim (Kim Jae Hwa) nervously laughs it off, trying to cover up the awkward moment.

With the stakes rising, a voice delivers a tense warning: “If we get caught, we’re all dead.” As the tension builds, loyal allies prepare for the ultimate scam. Through it all, Lim Ji Yeon’s character embarks on a perilous journey to escape her past and forge a new future.

Im Ji Yeon nearly gets caught in her fake identity in The Tale of Lady Ok.

The Tale of Lady Ok tells the story of Ok Tae Young (Im Ji Yeon), a woman whose name, status, and husband are all fake, and Cheon Seung Hwi (Choo Young Woo), a storyteller who risked his life to protect her.

The K-drama’s unique premise, following the heartrending and desperate struggles of Gu Deok Yi, a slave-born woman who lives faking her identity as a noblewoman to survive, captivates prospective viewers.

Against the backdrop of this, the third teaser has been released, showcasing the cooperation of those who help Ok Tae Yeong in her fight for survival.

The teaser begins by showing the busy day of the fake Ok Tae Yeong, so full that Cha Mi Ryeong's (Yeonwoo) question, "Aren't you lonely?" seems unnecessary. Ok Tae Young replies, "Why would I be lonely? There are people who need me." Ok, who is addressed by various titles by those who need her, covers Cheon Seung Hwi's mouth when he calls her by her real name, Gu Deok Yi.

Additionally, seeing Ok Tae Young sweeping the yard and frying pancakes skillfully, hardly fitting for a noble lady, astonishes even the slave Dokkie (Oh Dae Hwan).

Cheon Seung Hwi's servant, Man Seok (Lee Jae Won), says something shocking, "back when our lady was a slave, while the kitchen maid, Mak Shim (Kim Jae Hwa), tries to cover it up with an awkward smile.

These quirky characters surrounding the fake Ok Tae Young add a humorous touch to the story.

But they are also her loyal allies, worried that, "If you get caught, we're all dead." Curiosity grows around Ok Tae Young's journey to escape her past and forge a new path toward living a life of dignity.

Everyone wants a piece of Lady Ok in new teaser

by Jenzy

LO-1.jpeg

Life is busy when you’re the lady of the house. In the new teaser for JTBC’s The Tale of Lady Ok, we’re introduced to all the people who depend on our so-called Lady Ok Im Ji-yeon (The Killing Vote) to keep things running.

The teaser opens on Lady Ok Tae-young as she is asked by her apprentice Cha Mi-ryeong — played by Yeonwoo (Bittersweet Hell) — if she ever feels lonely, to which she responds: “I don’t have the time to feel loneliness with all the people that need me.”

We then get a montage of all these said “needy” people — such as her servant Kim Jae-hwa (The Judge from Hell), brother-in-law Kim Jae-won (Hierarchy), and mother-in-law Kim Mi-sook (The Whirlwind) — as they all call out to Lady Ok with her appropriate titles from lady, to sister, to just Tae-young. However, among all the ways people call her, there is one name that is particularly dangerous: Gu-deok a.k.a. Tae-young’s real name from when she was a slave.

Unfortunately for her, there are people who recognize her with this name, such as the traveling storyteller Cheon Seung-hwi, played by Choo Young-woo (Oasis). Should she be found out, the consequences will be severe (i.e. death), so Tae-young has to be extra careful not to reveal things that might hint to her past, including her mega jeon-flipping skills.

But thankfully for Tae-young, she has people in her corner who will keep her secret, like the aforementioned hot storyteller Seung-hwi who reins in other loose-lipped servants with a stony glance and a dry, “You’ve gone insane.” His loyalty makes him an essential ally to Tae-young, and she will stop at nothing to protect this patch of paradise she’s found for herself. But will she be able to outrun her past life? We’ll have to watch and find out.

Written by Park Ji-sook (Uncle) and directed by Jin Hyuk (Sisyphus: The Myth), JTBC’s The Tale of Lady Ok is set to premiere on November 30th.

Lim Ji Yeon Is A Fake Noblewoman Hiding Her Past In "The Tale Of Lady Ok"

JTBC’s upcoming drama “The Tale of Lady Ok” has shared a new sneak peek of Lim Ji Yeon in her starring role!

“The Tale of Lady Ok” follows the intense survival con game of runaway slave Goo Deok Yi (Lim Ji Yeon), who assumes a false identity, and Cheon Seung Hwi (Choo Young Woo), who risks everything to protect her.

After escaping from her abusive master, Goo Deok Yi unexpectedly winds up taking on the identity of Lady Ok Tae Young and faking her name, social status, and even her husband.

Newly released stills from the upcoming drama capture Goo Deok Yi looking absolutely convincing as a fake noblewoman. Whether expertly wielding a brush or reading a book with ease, she looks every bit like the well-educated daughter of a noble family.

Because she was born with remarkable intelligence, Goo Deok Yi has actually known how to read, write, and do arithmetic ever since her days as a slave. But because she was afraid of incurring the wrath of her cruel mistress, Goo Deok Yi hid all of her abilities—and only now, as Lady Ok Tae Young, is she able to let her skills shine.

Lim-Ji-Yeon-2.jpg

However, Goo Deok Yi also boasts talents that an ordinary noblewoman might not possess. Due to her time as a slave, Goo Deok Yi is exceptionally fit and quick-witted, and even when faced with danger, she fearlessly throws herself into a confrontation to protect herself.
