Escape of Seven - too exaggerating and bloody. Can do without. Is this the same script writer as the penthouse one?

I don`t watch Escape of Seven even if someone will pay me. I hate Kim Soon Ok`s dramas. Period. If I could not stand her writing/ her plot in Penthouse when my girl Kim So Yeon was in it, I don`t know what could make me watch. Me and crazy makjang genre are not compatible.

Thanks for the recommendation. The Kingdom will be on my watch list. Let see when I could watch it.

Voted for the visual appeal. :D Will he win over the iconic grim reaper though, whom I've also voted?

he originally was a model, so he knows how to strut! he has a good, deep voice as well!

have you seen him in any drama?

The most lousy zombie movie is Peninsula - pls do not waste time to watch it.

thanks for the tip! it's the sequel to train to busan, but i hadn't yet seen that one either.

Ok how about this question? Which zombie outbreak could you survive as?

I think Zombie Detective, as all I need to give him is BB cream and food!

Zombie section.... None. Sorry I did not watch anything. I am interested in Kingdom as I heard that the plot doesn`t focus on the zombies but I have not had the chance yet.

I am a bit shocked that you didn't watch Kingdom. I had been under the impression that you must have watched that drama. But I will strongly recommend it to you, its a very good drama.

When it comes to horror genre, especially the ones involving Zombie, for me something that makes it very good is how vulnerable the characters are to the danger of getting infected themselves, and how they deal with it. In most of the modern day Zombie movies, the leads are borderline superheroes with top guns and all sort of weapons to deal with the zombies.

But when you change the era, go back to the time when swords were the main weapons, that's when things become different and the characters end up in a more dangerous situation. Then just like @lebeaucouple Chingu said, you see the group fighting them come up with strategies and tactic to deal with them with their limitations. Kingdom actually did a great job in all those points, and then what made it a lot more special was the politics bad guys were playing in the palace. Overall I think you will like it.

When it comes to horror movies, well, I don't think I can rate anything higher than "Wailing" right now. That movie was perfect for me. It was a rather fresh concept for me, where you would be confused and question things. There were some very good deceptions in the movie, and well, the ending was top class for me. The last few minutes of the movie kept me on the edge. I didn't find the movie that scary, but overall the movie was top class for me.

As for Zombie movies, I will highly recommend "Odd Family: Zombie on the Sale". This was a very good comedy for me, was totally different from what I thought how it would be. The antidote for the Zombie Virus was also super funny and caught me off guard in the end.

Talking about my favorite Grim Reaper, I would say it is Lee Soo Hyuk in Tomorrow despite his limited screen time in the drama. @partyon Noona, I am using the same gif that you have pasted, because that was one of my most favorite scenes of him in that drama,

You were the one that convinced me to try Kingdom after your recomandation but this year I did not watch many kdramas. I will watch it but who knows when. Perhaps I will watch all the seasons (after the 3rd season will be released).

Of course, they had to show him walking like a model. :)

Maybe the new drama where Lee Soo Hyuk will be the lead character they will show him in lot of scenes.

@Sleepy Owl - I am glad that you liked Kingdom series and "The Wailing" too.

Did you watch finished the Arthdal Chronicles S2? I like this S2 more than S1, in terms of their profound storyline and their special visual effect under the sea and the castle, and both sides adopted different strategies and tactics to win the battle. Some of the war scenes reminded me of similar scenes that ever appeared in the "Braveheart" movie before... :D

I can feel the good intentions and sincere work of the screenwriter and director, with their strong spirits to realize their dreams for the world. The messages that came out from Tanya's words are crystal clear. This is what they want to achieve, but can the country's leaders withstand all the challenges they face currently and in the future? About the ending part, the previous queen Tae Al-ha and Eun Seom's twin brother will come back for the land (Arthdal) - it's quite similar to what we see in middle east war now - LAND :D

I will be surprised if they plan to have S3. Because cost will be the major factor since they are using lots of special visual effects.

IMO, his and Cha Eunwoo's character should have been reversed...Well, if this becomes a full fledged drama with him playing Duke Kidrey rather than Prince Regef, he and Cha Eunwoo would totally nail it. Lee So Hyuk is good and hot as a villain though, which, IMO, makes him even more interesting.

he just has a really, deep voice.

from photo alone i don't find him goodlooking, but in motion....

The poll is going to close tonight / tomorrow (depending on your time zone)!

Have you not yet decided on the vampire you want to be bitten by, or the grim reaper you want as your flat mate?

And let's not forget about which zombie outbreak would be the grandest one?

Her walk is good, but his is better. :coolshades: Impossible to compete with a professional model.

Even Netflix promoted it.

Oppa will always be the #1 Grim Reaper in kdramas for me.

Yes, I remember it now! I had forgotten about it and thought you had watched it

Yes Chingu, I completed Arthdal Chronicles S2 and I did like it more than S1 as well.

What made this season a lot better than previous was that this season better paced than previous one. Previous season being the first season as well took its time in building and developing the plot which made it slow. But this one, I hardly felt had any moment where I felt like they were slowing things down. So lesser eps, but better pace, surely for me this was much better.

This surely was a pretty ambitious project, and they were building a totally new universe of their own with different types of species, races and tribes. So yes, that would require some big budget. From what I remember, the writers had a 54 episodes long drama in mind, which would be divided over 3 seasons each having 18 episodes.

Which would be why the first season was rather slow, since they were just setting up the universe, introducing new tribes, introducing the leads and their background etc. But since this drama's S1 didn't really do well in terms of ratings, it was sort of cancelled. I mean I wouldn't really be shocked if we wouldn't have S2.

So yes, I do think we might have S3, but then again, you never know when, and also since the ratings were not good for this season as well, we might not see S3 as well. But they have kind of concluded the S2 in such a way that, they leave it that way. They didn't really leave it open as they did for S1. So yeah, let's see if we'll have any S3 for this.

I started Zombie Detective with low expectations, and I was shocked seeing how good it was! The writing was very good, smart and the drama overall was very good for me. One of the best Zombie dramas for me.

thanks everyone for participating in this spooky event - now we hope that you will gain energy from this result for the rest of the grey November (in parts of the world). Or if you are having a sunny November, let us borrow your sun rays a bit:

The Best Vampire in kDrama goes to...

0cee995e5d75e847123fc59638156037ea73d204

Lee Soo Hyuk as Gwi in the Scholar Who Walks The Night - maybe it was his abs that distracted from his evilness and bloodthirst, or maybe we like a bad boy, because he won with 17 votes over the second vampire with 16 votes, from the same drama played by Lee Jun Ki as Kim Sung Yeol! Then third place is a long way off with 9 votes by the adorable Ok Taec Yeon as Seon Woo Hyul in Heartbeat.

So from this we can surmise that Scholar Who Walks The Night is the ultimate Vampire kdrama! Thoughts?

PS: Actual third place is "noone" - as 10 people apparently don't like any of the vampires :O! Who do you want to portray a vampire next time?  We need names!

Now onto the second category!

GRIM REAPER! We may lose our souls to them, or we may see them as friends who will join our journey to the afterworld. In any case, I don't think this voting result is a surprise. Lee Dong Wook as Wang Yeo / Grim Reaper in Goblin wins with 23 votes in a landslide. I guess, Goblin is the eternal gateway drug for Kdrama fans!

36534907ad240f25e5b1c74737053055.gif

But who doesn't like this guy who is confronted with modern world and just wants to install games on his brand new phone!

Then the second and third place are given, respectively, to Lee Soo Hyuk as Park Jung Gil with 13 votes and Kim Hee Sun as Goo Ryun with 11 votes, both to be seen strutting in Tomorrow. But Lee Soo Hyuk has got the edge over the pinkhaired grim reaper: he's got style, pain..., and yes, you guessed it, aaaaaaaaaaabs.

Now, last but not least, an upcoming trendy theme in kdrama and kmovies... Yes, Zombies! The Undead are Alive.

And first place goes to

ef664c8f3e5317130a19f519e7751d1f.gif

Train To Busan with 16 votes - it won much recognition, beyond South Korea, so also our hearts. Close by, but not enough comes with 13 votes the romcom Zombie Detective - we just want to support a peacefriendly zombie who just needs to earn money, go through the daily grind, just so he can eat, put on makeup, and survive!

And third place is also shared by Happiness & Kingdom series with 11 votes, I guess finding a bit of real estate in Korea is equivalent to the zombie outbreak in old Joseon times!

As always we hope you had fun, and let us know if you have an event idea!

Your event organizers,

@partyon @Sleepy Owl @confusedheart @agenth

Honestly it's the best ever vampire series I've seen). Both guys were amazing,  and I'm very happy their work is recognized by our community)))

Spoiler

The only one in my mind I could compare with it is True Blood, but it's totally different and certainly not everybody's favorite
