I did find the kiss scenes a little underwhelming in the drama though

It was more hilarious to see Choi Won Young appearing on screen (at 0:59) than the kiss.  I knew about the kiss because it was everywhere in the memes or gifs at that time.

:approves:

They started bickering about her bag, and he then decided to get rid of his necktie because she was standing her ground. That's how the rap started. Choi Won Young then reprimanded them for acting like that in a company (hwaesa) office. :D

Sorry I missed the rap part. I got distracted by Ji sung`s make up and Hwang Jung-Eum `s glasses.

And let's post lots and looooooots of pictures of @agenth's favorite Secret Love oppa!

Ugh, I couldn’t stand that guy either! In fact when I think about Secret Love he’s all I can remember. I have to remind myself that Ji Sung is the lead and what the actual story is about.

Neither can I. She just hated his character so much. :D I think the Young Master - Maid romance is what set her off. :sweatingbullets:

posting a short reply only as I am on mobile haha and forum isn’t loading nicely for me there…

yea the romance was just unbelievable and made in a weird way.

We know classic Kdrama has poor girl rich guy stuff but the other dramas have much time to build up the story and romance.

here the drama should have only focused on the mature women and their love lives and struggles instead of silver spoon master. Hus acting was off too but also the reason he fell in love with her was because she decided to sleep in his bed and left her hair tie in it!!!! He smelled it??

anyway a real poor person wouldn’t use their bosses bed to sleep in, especially when having just started to work.

Same with King the land, using the toilet of the vip suite. Even if she had to go to toilet so dramatically, her desperation wouldn’t allow her to play around with the blinds.

she was able to walk the hall all the way to public restroom, trust me.

Chingu, am such a big fan of movies that I have taken it as my mission to watch all movies on the top 250 imdb list. :D

Still have more than 50 movies left. Do you have the same mission?

It's hard to find them tbh. Find them on YouTube, Netflix, other streaming platforms, good old fashioned TV, etc. On my watchlist at the moment I have Heat and Braveheart (which I think are on NF). What about you?

I was so shocked when you mentioned mission to watch movies on IMDb list? :mrgreen:Your target was 50 over movies ??

No no no....i don't have any mission, I watch movies based on my time schedule, good rating and preferred storyline. I thought I am a movie-goer, but you are higher ranking than me...Bravo.....:approves:

I hope you have chosen those good movies that I picked for you in my list shown on previous page :)

Braveheart - it's totally worth to watch it but it takes quite long hours for me.

Apocalypto and Gladiator are worth to watch too.

Gladiator 2 film - will be released in 2024

Not sure some of the recent movies are still in your 50+ movies list? LOL :D

I have watched too many but can only name a few for the following for you to watch if you have time:

  1. Togo 2019
  2. Assassins 2020
  3. The Social Dilemma 2020
  4. Mass 2021
  5. Women Talking 2022
  6. The Good Nurse 2022
  7. Outfit 2022
  8. The Whale 2022
  9. Missing 2023
  10. The Son 2023

This week if i have time, I will watch three movies as follows:

  1. Brooklyn Affairs (2019)
  2. Nine 9  (2019)
  3. Audrey Hepburn (2020) -biography story

To watch it so fragmented!  I could not do it like you do it. It kills all the joy I might have to watch a drama.

The highlight for me was the two main lead characters/ actors. I like both actors, especially Park Hee Soon. That`s why I rewatched it. And to remember the plot. Kang Ha Neul made a memorable bad guy.

I think they wanted a second season but it did not materialize. I am Ok with the ending. I am not upset like I am with drama series TEN.

I don't usually watch drama in such a fragmented manner, but not sure why I am doing it for this drama.

I was a bit disappointed to know that Kang Ha Neul was playing the bad guy just for first 2 episodes of the drama. I hoped he would be the actual main bad guy there so that we could get to see him more in that character.

LOL :D I've never seen anyone complaining over a drama character as much @agenth did when watching this drama. She hated that guy so much.

I still think that she hates the guy standing on the right even more...The amount of complaints the rest of the EOs had to endure while watching Mine....

I think we got to commend Bae Soo Bin's acting there, for making hate his character that much. Dude is such a great actor, he did a great job in that drama.

I didn't like the dude in Mine as well (mainly felt his story was extra filler type), but didn't really hate him as much as @agenth Chingu. At one point I felt as if she was ready to Spartan kick him down the cliff (along with his gf)

This drama was OK for me but it is not my cup of tea. If  it wasn't for all of you/your rewatch event, I would never have watched it. But I could understand the appeal for this genre, why people liked it.

The main reason I still rate that drama is how the writer was brave enough to make sure all 4 leads were flawed characters. None of them were perfect, and none of them were completely good or even evil. Throughout the 16 episodes, you would see some of those characters grow and become better people, and others would get worse. But it happens in such details that you actually get to notice it. Its not like most of the dramas today where somehow magically a character changes and makes you wonder how that happened.

So the plot moves slowly in this, but you don't feel like it is slow because the writer makes sure to keep it engaging, detailed, and I got to say, this drama has had one of the best cast list. All the characters were played by people with top talents, and so they were able to portray them so well.

But I do understand that this drama is draining enough, and so not many people would go for the re-watch :fullofhearts:

If she hated his character that much I can`t blame her. He played a pathetic, sleazy, irredeemable human beeing. Perfect character for a makjang drama.

You described his character so well, seems like someone else was hating that dude too :eats:

I just saw how this character was but I did not hate him. Bae Soo Bin played the role well, according to the script.  To hate his character I should have been emotionally involved by watching this story but never happend.

The last time I felt the need to punch a villain was Kim Kap soo `s character in Chief of Staff. He was entertaining to watch. The other .... not. It was about the plot for me. Too majjang, soap opera stuff to care.

Usually, one of my favorites characters in the drama are the villains. If their characters are well written, the drama is a success.

I wonder if Kim Ha Neul will try some other villain characters. He is good at playing them.

I saw many actors playing succesful villain roles but I want them to be cast in different genre or characters. Not only villains. They tend to cast the same actor in a similar role.

Oh no, it's my goal to watch all 250 imdb top movies:

https://www.imdb.com/chart/top/

I still have about 60 left. Have seen like 190 of them. But this is since I was a kid, and I am in no hurry to complete it. I watch about 1 new movie on the list per month. :sweatingbullets:

How many of them have you watched?

The most recent ones I watched were Barbie and Oppenheimer. Unfortunately I go to the actual movie theater a lot less than I did before.

Yes! The cast was top notch!

I also wish that the writers of the drama would reunite. Neither have had great hits separately. Only together.

Both of the directors have had super hits after Secret.

You should share your theory on villain hairstyles on this thread, chingu. :D

So the people I would REALLY like to see as villains would be (in no specific order):

1) Ji Chang Wook oppa - right @agenth?

2) Lee Jun Ki - he would do really well based on Flower of Evil (right @Lmangla?)

3) Kim Soo Hyun - think he would do well @sweetroad

4) Seo In Guk - he should go full evil @kokodus

5) Lee Jae Wook - he already gave a taste to us in Search WWW

6) Park Min Young - I feel like she could push herself to try on new roles

7) Jang Nara - she got talent to do a full mean girl role @Sleepy Owl @gm4queen

8) Lee Sung Kyung - she is way versatile and could pull off a villain role

9) Kim Go Eun - she has an interesting look and I could see her be paired up as a villain couple with Seo In Guk

10) Park Bo Young - she would kill with her cuteness

What about the rest of you? Who would you want to see as villains?

OMO! @confusedheart should we do an event on this?

Why not? But I wanted to say I want to see Lee Joon Gi in a drama except action genre. He is in every action kdramas. He is very good in this genre but I want something else. I think he did have action scenes in Flower of Evil  but I am not sure. I don`t remember well but when I know he plays in a drama I know I will see action scenes.

Lee Jun Ki is very good at action roles. He has a black belt in several martial arts.

Other martial arts specialists with various degrees of black belts are e.g.

  • Ahn Bo Hyun - tag @confusedheart
  • Park Hyung Sik  - tag @Thong Thin
  • Ha Ji Won - she's practiced kendo, boxing, etc
  • Lee Jong Suk
  • Jang Hyuk
  • Jung Hae In - I really need to see this guy in a full action role

There are many actors who can do a decent job in action scenes. If they are not very good, at least they can be credible.
