Jang Seung Jo, Kim Ha Neul, And Yeon Woo Jin Are Dangerously Entangled With Each Other In “Grabbed By The Collar” Poster

KBS2’s upcoming drama “Grabbed by the Collar” has dropped a new poster!

Based on a popular web novel, “Grabbed by the Collar” is a romance thriller drama about an investigative reporter Seo Jung Won (Kim Ha Neul) and ace detective Kim Tae Heon (Yeon Woo Jin) who team up to solve a series of murders—and who happen to be ex-lovers. Jang Seung Jo plays Seo Jung Won’s husband Seol Woo Jae, a second-generation chaebol and novelist.

The newly released poster captures Seo Jung Won, Kim Tae Heon, and Seol Woo Jae sharing a bed while looking in different directions. The text that reads, “The truth that is ignored will return no matter what,” implicitly suggests the whirlwind of emotions and precarious relationships between the three, who are entangled with each other deeply.

Kim Haneul is framed for murder in Grabbed by the Collar

by tccolb

It’s looking quite grim in the first teaser for KBS’s mystery-thriller Grabbed by the Collar, where the stakes are rising along with my blood pressure as our justice-seeking heroine Kim Haneul (Kill Heel) becomes the prime suspect on a high-profile murder case.

It certainly doesn’t help to be greeted by foreboding music and an eerily grinned Yoon Je-moon (High Cookie) as we begin the trailer. But our Seo Jung-won (Kim Haneul) has a backbone of steel and isn’t intimidated by this unpleasant surprise. She thus continues with her news segment as planned – also titled Grabbed by the Collar – and the captions explain that Jung-won is a journalist who calls out corrupted individuals.

However, this means that Jung-won has made enemies with some powerful people, and we follow her in the teaser as she finds herself in incriminating circumstances. As she and her husband Jang Seung-jo (Death’s Game) are hounded by the press, Jung-won defends herself in voiceover that, “Someone has manipulated the evidence and framed me as the culprit.”

However, police detective and ex-boyfriend Yeon Woo-jin (Daily Dose of Sunshine) is unsure what to believe, telling Jung-won, “I can’t help but continue to be suspicious of you because you did lie.” We then watch as Seol Woo-jae (Jang Seung-jo) is brought in for questioning as well, and the teaser comes to a close as Kim Tae-heon (Yeon Woo-jin) does some kind of swab test on Woo-jae.

Production for the web novel adaptation has co-directing by PD Lee Ho and PD Lee Hyun-kyung, with Bae Soo-young penning the scripts. Airing in the Monday-Tuesday slot following Love Song for Illusion, KBS’s Grabbed by the Collar will be premiering on March 18.

Believing Seo Jung Won to be his destiny, Seol Woo Jae constantly tried to win her heart. Touched by Seol Woo Jae’s unwavering sincerity and dedication, Seo Jung Won married him, believing that he would be by her side until the end.

However, two years into their marriage, Seo Jung Won gets entangled in a murder case, and cracks begin to appear in the couple’s happy married life. Will Seo Jung Won be able to maintain a happy marriage with Seol Woo Jae as she gets closer to the truth about the incident?

Watch: Kim Ha Neul Becomes A Murder Suspect In “Grabbed By The Collar” Teaser

KBS2’s “Grabbed by the Collar” has released a new teaser!

Based on a popular web novel, “Grabbed by the Collar” is a romance thriller drama about investigative reporter Seo Jung Won (Kim Ha Neul) and ace detective Kim Tae Heon (Yeon Woo Jin), who team up to solve a series of murders—and who happen to be ex-lovers. Jang Seung Jo plays Seo Jung Won’s husband Seol Woo Jae (Jang Seung Jo), a second-generation chaebol and novelist.

At the beginning of the teaser, investigative journalist Seo Jung Won is seen hosting her program “Let’s Get Grabbed by the Collar.” In one scene, Jung Won receives a tip and heads somewhere alone, only to discover a dead body. In another scene, Tae Heon, the detective in charge of the murder case, calmly asks Jung Won, “Are you perhaps acquainted with the victim?”

The teaser also shows a confrontation between Seo Jung Won and Mo Hyung Taek (Yoon Je Moon), a powerful member of the National Assembly who currently serves as a party leader. Mo Hyung Taek tells Jung Won, “In my opinion, you made a wrong choice in marriage,” piquing viewers’ curiosity about the tense confrontation and how Mo Hyung Taek is connected to Jung Won and her husband.

Next, viewers are given a glimpse of Jung Won’s relationship with her husband, Seol Woo Jae. In one scene, Jung Won asks Woo Jae, “Honey, you’re not hiding anything from me, right?” A disappointed Woo Jae responds, “Are you doubting me?” Jung Won then discovers that Woo Jae was also at the scene of the murder she witnessed. Eventually, Jung Won and Woo Jae, who once loved and trusted each other, become extremely suspicious of one another and start to investigate each other. Jung Won even snaps at Woo Jae, “To me, you’re now the prime suspect.”

Later, Tae Heon, who suspects that Jung Won and her husband are on the same side, asks Jung Won, “You’re all in cahoots, aren’t you?” At the end of the teaser, as Tae Heon tries to talk to Jung Won, she coldly tells him, “Detective Kim Tae Heon, don’t you think you’re too close to me right now?”

Premiere Watch: Nothing Uncovered

by missvictrix

Time slot: Monday-Tuesday
Broadcaster: KBS
Genre: Crime, thriller, mystery
Episode count: 16
Global streamer: Kocowa

Reasons to watch: Poor KBS doesn’t know quite how to market this drama, from their difficulty in settling on an adequate English translation for the title (which in the Korean reads “Let’s grab each other by the collar”), to their tonal shifts in promotional material (see: posters). However, don’t let this scare you. Sometimes, it’s the dramas that struggle during their promotion cycle that turn into the more interesting fare, so I’m still rooting for the drama to bring something worthwhile to my screen.

With Kim Haneul playing a tenacious reporter who not only discovers her husband is having an affair (NOT AGAIN, DRAMA GODS!) to becoming a suspect in the mistress’s murder, the stage is set for a lot of conflict and intrigue. The wonderful Jang Seung-jo plays her cheating husband, while Yeon Woo-jin plays her ex-boyfriend and the cop who comes to her aid. And while the drama is clearly tagged as a crime-thriller, those bedroom posters suggest we’ll be leaning more into the relational side of this story, to which I say: yes, please.

TL;DR: Kim Haneul is in quite the pickle when she’s caught between two men and has a murder suspicion hanging over her head
