KBS2 has unveiled a brand new poster for its upcoming weekend drama “Live Your Own Life”!

“Live Your Own Life” tells the story of the warmhearted Lee Hyo Shim, who finally decides to get away from her leech-like family and pursue her own happiness away from them.

Ha Jun will be playing the role of Kang Tae Ho, the director of the planning division of a conglomerate. Kang Tae Ho has both looks and skills, and he will become intertwined with Lee Hyo Shim after an unexpected incident.

Uee will play the role of Lee Hyo Shim, who took responsibility for her family after her father disappeared one day, leaving her to take care of her mom, two older brothers, and younger brother. She is a filial daughter who dedicates herself to her family, and because she is naturally athletic and skilled at physical activities, she immediately snagged a job as a personal trainer right after graduating high school. She currently works at a fitness center in Gangnam while supporting her family.

Responsible and conscientious, Hyo Shim is the ace of the fitness center. Because she has to support her family, she’s dedicated to attracting and retaining members, even doing early morning workouts that other trainers shy away from. This puts Hyo Shim in charge of Tae Ho, a cranky member who insists on working out alone very early in the morning before the gym opens. Tae Ho, who refuses personal training and insists on working out alone, gradually starts to listen to Hyo Shim, who sincerely does her job as a fitness trainer despite his rudeness.

KBS2’s upcoming drama “Live Your Own Life” has shared new stills of Ha Jun and Go Joo Won!

“Live Your Own Life” tells the story of the warmhearted Lee Hyo Shim (played by Uee), who finally decides to get away from her leech-like family and pursue her own happiness away from them.

Ha Jun will be playing the role of Kang Tae Ho, the director of the planning division of a conglomerate group. Kang Tae Ho has both looks and skills, and he will become intertwined with Lee Hyo Shim after an unexpected incident. Go Joo Won will play Tae Ho’s cousin, Kang Tae Min, a third-generation chaebol heir who has both a good personality and manners.

In the drama, Tae Ho turns down a job offer from a major American company to return to Korea because there is a truth that he must uncover. However, he hides his true objective and becomes the head of the planning division of a conglomerate group, where his older uncle is the chairman and his cousin Tae Min is the General Manager.

Tae Ho feels sad for his father, who lost out to Tae Ho’s father in the competition for the position of the group’s chairman, and he puts all his effort into protecting the position his father struggled to secure after his younger uncle passed away. As such, it’s inevitable that there will be competition to become the group’s successor. There will also be a love triangle between Hyo Shim, Tae Ho, and Tae Min.

The newly released stills depict the love-hate relationship between Tae Ho and Tae Min. The two cousins, who haven’t seen each other in a long time, greet each other with friendly smiles. However, there is no physical contact such as handshakes or hugs, which you’d expect from people with a close relationship, and they seem awkward as they stand across from each other.

Actor Ha Jun, who plays Tae Ho, commented, “Tae Ho has been compared to Tae Min since he was a kid. Even in Tae Ho’s eyes, Tae Min is a perfect person. Tae Ho’s grandmother told him that he could surpass his cousin, but he doubts whether he can really ever be as good as [Tae Min].”

He continued, “Tae Ho is better at dealing with people than his cousin. He has a way of getting people to be on his side, so I think he will have an edge in the competition.”

Ha Jun also praised his co-star Go Joo Won, revealing, “I always feel that he is considerate. I think that’s why I feel so at ease when I’m acting with Go Joo Won. I am very grateful for that.”

Meanwhile, Go Joo Won remarked, “For Tae Min, Tae Ho is a younger cousin whom he likes. Unlike Tae Min, Tae Ho has a lot of bright energy. Tae Min is actually envious of that aspect of Tae Ho.”

Talking about actor Ha Jun, Go Joo Won shared, “He’s someone I feel comfortable talking to about acting and personal things. I think he helps me a lot when I’m portraying Tae Min.”

The newly released teaser previews Lee Hyo Shim wanting to break free from her irresponsible family. Although Hyo Shim is a successful health trainer, she is busy supporting her mother Sun Soon (Yoon Mi Ra) and immature younger brother Hyo Do (Kim Do Yeon), who only adds to her troubles by taking a private loan.

Furthermore, when Hyo Shim tries to give an allowance to her older brother Hyo Joon (Seol Jung Hwan) who has been studying for the law exam for many years, he only gets angry at her, saying, “I feel like losing my mind when I’m interrupted while studying!” Since no one is grateful for her support, Hyo Shim can only dream of living an independent life from the rest of her family.

To Hyo Shim who struggles with her family life, she feels the most enjoyment during her job as a fitness trainer. Actress Uee sat down to talk all about her new drama “Live Your Own Life.”

“Live Your Own Life” is a story that centers around the warm-hearted and caring Lee Hyo Shim (Uee), who has devoted her entire life to taking care of her leech-like family. Deciding that she needs to break away, Lee Hyo Shim musters up the courage to begin pursuing her own life, forcing her family to also begin living independently.

The drama marks Uee’s return to a weekend drama for the first time in four years, and she commented on how she feels both excited and nervous at the thought of her comeback.

“I’m excited to show a new side of me,” she commented. “But on the other hand, it’s also a somewhat heavy burden on my shoulders since I’ll be leading a 50-episode drama.”

 

When asked about what drew her to the role of Lee Hyo Shim, Uee picked Lee Hyo Shim’s “healthy” personality.

“I find her cheerful and bright personality appealing,” she said. “She loves her mom and has a strong sense of responsibility, so she’s very dedicated to her mom and family. But even so, she’s also a very dignified and filial person who says what’s on her mind.”

Uee is known for being diligent when it comes to her health and fitness, which no doubt came in handy when playing Lee Hyo Shim who is also a fitness trainer. Even still, she talked about how she worked tirelessly to make her performance even more realistic.

“I did personal training five times a week and learned how to utilize different muscles,” she shared. And her blood, sweat, and tears paid off in the form of the character Lee Hyo Shim, an ace fitness trainer with a fit, muscular body.

 

Uee also mentioned how she observed real fitness trainers and their teaching methods. “I studied what kinds of areas to focus on and what kinds of cheers and praises I should be giving to encourage students. I learned that timing is also key when giving praises and encouragement,” she said.

Uee is also quite passionate about the independence that her character craves so badly. “True independence is when you and your family live your own lives by means of your own strength,” she commented. “If I were Lee Hyo Shim, I’d want to live a life that didn’t force me to make any sacrifices or commitments and allowed me to prioritize myself, think about what I truly want, and take responsibility for my choices.”

Finally, when asked about what she thought of the term “self-reliance,” Uee answered, “I think it’s a life where you can prioritize what makes you happy and take responsibility for your choices without the words and actions of others dictating you.”

The drama also depicts the family's journey towards finding their separate lives, previously based on Hyo Shim's dedication and sacrifice.

Uee takes on the role of Lee Hyo Shim, known for her innate kindness and exceptional sense of duty. After playing the role of Kim Do Ran in KBS 2TV's weekend drama My Only One in 2019, which achieved a peak rating of 49.6%, Uee is making her highly anticipated return to weekend dramas. She expressed her desire to be loved more for her character, Hyo Shim, than in her previous role, Do Ran.

 

 

 

Uee stated, "I felt a burden as I took on the title role of a 50-episode drama, but as we practiced the script and started filming, I realized it's a work all the actors are creating together." “Live Your Own Life” is a new drama starring Uee as Lee Hyo Shim, a warmhearted personal trainer and self-sacrificing daughter who has always put her family’s needs before her own—until she finally makes up her mind to break free from her leech-like family and pursue her own happiness. Ha Jun will star as Kang Tae Ho, the director of the planning division of a conglomerate group, who eventually winds up becoming one of Hyo Shim’s clients.

In newly released stills from the upcoming drama, Hyo Shim and Tae Ho get off on the wrong foot during their chaotic first meeting. As a former track-and-field athlete, Hyo Shim goes for an early-morning run every day, and on one fateful run, she accidentally falls towards Tae Ho while trying to avoid an oncoming bicycle.

When Hyo Shim asks Tae Ho for his contact information so that she can get in touch with him regarding medical treatment, Tae Ho glares at her and retorts frostily, “My contact information is a bit expensive.” Shocked by his response, an annoyed Hyo Shim stares at Tae Ho in disbelief.

On the first episode of “Live Your Own Life,” Lee Hyo Shim received a well-deserved promotion after achieving impressive results as the top trainer at her gym. However, she wasn’t able to enjoy her success for long—Hyo Shim was soon contacted by a loan shark asking her to pay off the massive debts racked up by her irresponsible family members.

 

Not only was the interest rate on the loans shockingly high, but the biggest problem was that this was far from the first time Hyo Shim had been forced to deal with this kind of situation. Knowing that he had lent her mom and younger brother the money because he expected Hyo Shim to pay it back, Hyo Shim angrily sought out the loan shark and told him that she couldn’t pay off their debts.

 

However, it appears as though Hyo Shim was unsuccessful in fending him off. In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Hyo Shim is frozen is shock as she finds the loan shark waiting for her at the gym where she works.

 

Although the loan shark greets her with a wave and a relaxed smile, Hyo Shim visibly falls into despair after hearing what he has to say.

Uee is constantly growing as an actress so I look forward to what she will bring to even well worn story paths, but as for the dour ML, getting really tired of that formula, as are many women, even righteous arrogant little bad boys, are not that attractive, usually ain't great lovers either

“Live Your Own Life” Actor No Young Kook Passes Away

 

Actor No Young Kook has passed away at the age of 75.

 

On September 18, Bliss Media, the PR agency for KBS2’s new weekend drama “Live Your Own Life,” announced, “Late actor [No Young Kook] passed away suddenly this morning due to a heart attack.”

 

According to the wishes of the bereaved family, his funeral will be held quietly with only family, friends, and co-actors in attendance.

 

In “Live Your Own Life,” No Young Kook was starring as Jang Sook Hyang’s (Lee Hwi Hyang’s) husband Kang Jin Beom, the chairman of Taesan Group.

 

“Live Your Own Life” premiered on September 16 and has broadcast up to the second episode. The production team is reportedly discussing follow-up measures following the starring actor’s sudden news.

 

Having debuted in 1974, No Young Kook appeared in various projects including the dramas “Taejong of Joseon,” “Eyes of Dawn,” and “The Great King, Sejong” as well as the film “Bravo My Life.”
