Character description

 

Nam Ha-Neul ( Park Shin Hye) works as an anesthesiologist. When she was growing up, people called her a genius due to her extreme intelligence. She studied hard and became a doctor. Her life consists of only work and studying. She doesn’t have any time to experience fun. One day, Nam Ha-Neul realizes she isn’t happy with her life and she wants to make a change. At this time, she meets Yeo Jung-Woo during one of the worst moments in her life. They comfort each other and a romantic relationship blossoms between them.

 

Yeo Jung-Woo (Park Hyung-Sik) always placed first in academics and he studied at the top medical school in the country. Yeo Jung-Woo is now a popular plastic surgeon. His life goes smoothly, but, due to a mysterious medical accident, his life is pushed to the edge. At this time, he meets Nam Ha-Neul (Park Shin-Hye). "The Heirs" actors Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik are in talks to reunite in a new medical K-drama.

On November 30th, media outlet Ten Asia shared that Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik will pair up for the upcoming medical K-drama titled "Doctor Slump" (literal translation). 

Both of their agencies responded to the casting reports. According to Park Shin Hye's agency Salt Entertainment, the actress is positively considering the casting offer. Park Hyung Sik's side also commented and revealed that the idol actor is also reviewing the k-drama positively. 

"Doctor Slump" is a romantic comedy series that will tell the stories of doctors who are currently experiencing slumps. The K-drama will showcase how they will resuscitate and return to their lives. 

Park Shin Hye received the offer to play the role of Nam Ha Neul. Park Hyung Sik got the offer to star as Yeo Jeong Woo. 

If ever Park Hyung Sik decided to star in the series, this will be his first ever doctor character since his debut. Meanwhile, this will be the second time that Park Shin Hye will star in a medical series.

There are no official details yet on the broadcast date of "Doctor Slump."

 

 

If Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik confirm their casting, this will be their reunion after 10 years. The two worked together as classmates in the 2013 hit series "The Heirs." 

This will possibly be the comeback of Park Shin Hye in the K-drama world after getting married and giving birth. She last starred in the 2021 K-drama "Sisyphus: The Myth." 2022 was a remarkable year for the actress as she got married in January and gave birth to her first son in May.

According to sources, the script reading of the upcoming medical drama Doctor Slump will be held tomorrow (March 4). 

Doctor Slump is a romantic comedy that tells the story of two doctors who have fallen into a slump and their endeavor to reinvigorate their lives. The drama casts Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik. 

The screenwriter of the drama is Baek Sun Woo, whose most famous works include K-dramas What's Wrong with Secretary Kim and My Roommate Is a Gumiho. The task of directing is taken up by Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo director  Oh Hyun Jong. 

Doctor Slump will mark Park Shin Hye's comeback after two years. And this will be the first time in ten years she reunites with Park Hyung Sik in a drama after last being seen with him in The Heirs, which aired in 2013. Whereas, Doctor Slump will be Park Hyung Sik's second K-drama of the year. Doctor Slump will follow the story of two people who entered into a burnout phase while pursuing their careers. They were rivals in the past and now they meet again when they are both in the darkest period of their life. The two will go from hating each other to becoming each other's strength.

Plot Synopsis by AsianWiki:During his school days, Yeo Jung-Woo (Park Hyung-Sik) always placed first in academics and he studied at the top medical school in the country. Yeo Jung-Woo is now a popular plastic surgeon. His life goes smoothly, but, due to a mysterious medical accident, his life is pushed to the edge. At this time, he meets Nam Ha-Neul (Park Shin-Hye). She was a rival in his past and he meets her at the lowest point in his life.

Nam Ha-Neul works as an anesthesiologist. When she was growing up, people called her a genius due to her extreme intelligence. She studied hard and became a doctor. Her life consists of only work and studying. She doesn’t have any time to experience fun. One day, Nam Ha-Neul realizes she isn’t happy with her life and she wants to make a change. At this time, she meets Yeo Jung-Woo during one of the worst moments in her life. They comfort each other and a romantic relationship blossoms between them.

10 years after co-starring in hit drama “Heirs,” Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye have shared a new photo together!

On April 28, both Park Hyung Sik and Park Shin Hye attended the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards as presenters. Following the event, Park Hyung Sik took to Instagram to share an adorable photo with his former and current co-star Park Shin Hye.

The two were confirmed last month to reunite as co-stars in JTBC’s upcoming rom-com “Doctor Slump” (literal title), which follows the story of two rivals who try to resuscitate their lives when they fall into a slump after only having followed successful paths.
