Choi Soo-jong, Lee Ha-nui, Kim Yoon-seok, Han Ye-seul... The Return of ★ ‘The living room becomes heavy’

What doubles the fun of watching small screens is the appearance of stars. In particular, the more the style appeared after a long time, the greater the dramatic effect. Various channels that have already released some of the productions for the first half of 2023 in the fall of last year are releasing casting lineups for works that will be responsible for the middle of this year and beyond.

Among them, the names to pay attention to are the names of stars who will add weight to the home theater. Someone returned to a drama after 10 years, and there was also someone who challenged a proprietary historical drama after 10 years. With the fun of waiting for their acting, viewers will be able to enjoy this year.

news-p.v1.20230221.4e186544b81e49e6b5be8

Lee Ha-nui plays Jo Yeo-hwa, a widow with two faces. During the day, Jo Yeo-hwa is a modest, virtuous woman who lives without seeing the world outside the fence, but when the sun goes down, she climbs over the fence and takes care of those in need without anyone noticing. Lee Ha-nui made headlines for her role in 2019’s ‘Hot-Blooded Priest’, and then solidified her position as a box office actress through SBS’ ‘Wonder Woman’ in 2021. Lee Ha-nui's appearance on MBC has become a hot topic in 6 years since 'Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People' in 2017, and her movements alone.

[...]

In the early 2023 broadcaster, the performances of 'returned stars' such as Jeon Do-yeon of tvN's 'One Other Scandal', who returned as a bright character after a long time, and Choi Min-sik, who appeared in a drama series after 25 years with Disney Plus' 'Casino', are evident. Expectations are rising whether Choi Soo-jong, Kim Yun-seok, Lee Ha-nui and Han Ye-seul can continue this momentum.

Kim Sang-joong returns to a drama after 4 years... 'A flower that blooms at night'

29N7RTWV8E_1.jpg

Actor Kim Sang-joong has confirmed his appearance in MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama, 'Flowers that Bloom at Night'.

On the 29th, MBC's new Friday-Saturday drama 'Flowers that Bloom at Night' (script Lee Sam, Jeong Myeong-in/director Jang Tae-yu, Choi Jeong-in) announced that actor Kim Sang-joong joined the drama cast as a return to the small screen after 4 years. 'Flowers that Bloom at Night' is a story of a legendary story that builds a relationship between 'Yeohwa (Lee Ha-nui)', a masked widow who has been living a double life for 15 years, and 'Suho', a perfect lifelong servant who is envied by everyone within the four gates. The work contains the 'double life of a masked widow' over and over the wall of two people.

Kim Sang-joong plays the role of Seok Ji-seong, the father-in-law of the masked widow Jo Yeo-hwa and the dignified leader of the Joseon Dynasty. Seok Ji-seong is a person who is trusted by the king and respected by the people, along with a public reputation as a heaven-sent Myeongjae-sang. Seok Ji-seong is an infinitely affectionate and generous father-in-law to his widowed daughter-in-law, Jo Yeo-hwa, but he is a figure who shows politics based on strict convictions when it comes to national affairs. Expectations are also high for acting with Lee Ha-nui, who previously confirmed the role of Jo Yeo-hwa as a character full of solid charisma in warmth.

In the meantime, Kim Sang-joong has been loved as an actor and host in various fields such as 'Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People', 'Jingbirok', and 'Bad Guys' as well as current affairs and 'I want to know'. He has established himself as an actor with a gentle impression, a heavy voice, and acting ability that overwhelms the screen.

In particular, the production team of 'Flowers that Bloom at Night' said that Kim Sang-joong joined after a long persuasion. As he returns to the home theater after 4 years, expectations are high for this work along with the unique character Kim Sang-joong will present.

Lee Ki Woo's agency, Never Die Entertainment, announced that Lee Ki Woo had been cast in MBC's new historical drama 'Flowers that Bloom at Night' (written by Lee Sam, Jung Myung In/directed by Jang Tae Yoo, Choi Jung In, Lee Chang Woo/produced by Base Story, Film Greeda, and Saram Entertainment).

'Flowers that Bloom at Night' is a comedic action historical drama that unfolds when Cho Yeo Hwa, a widow who leads a double life by crossing the line at night, and the perfect official at Geumwiyoung that everyone desires, Park Soo Ho, become entangled. It is the latest drama by PD Jang Tae Yoo, who directed SBS dramas such as 'Deep Rooted Tree,' 'My Love from the Star,' 'Hyena,' and 'Lovers of the Red Sky.'

In 'Flowers that Bloom at Night,' Lee Ki Woo will portray Park Yoon Hak, who collaborates to fulfill the king's ideals and strives to protect his younger brother's happy life.

Park Yoon Hak has a gentle appearance but strong inner strength. On the surface, he seems carefree, lazy, and reluctant about the world. Still, he has a sense of mission that anyone should take responsibility and change this distorted world by the king's side.

As the son of the noblest family in Joseon, he has grown up with Crown Prince Lee So's suffering and sadness since their childhood. He is a character who cherishes his younger brother, Soo Ho, whom he formed a bond with 15 years ago, more than anyone else.

Lee Ki Woo, who gained the nickname of a 'reliable actor' through his outstanding acting skills, demonstrated his ability to digest various roles in dramas such as 'My Liberation Notes,' 'Agency,' and '18 Again.' As he takes on his first historical drama, 'Flowers that Bloom at Night,' there is anticipation for the new charm he will bring and his contribution to the popularity of MBC's historical dramas.

Meanwhile, 'Flowers that Bloom at Night,' in which Lee Ki Woo will appear, is scheduled to be broadcast in the second half of this year.
