larus
'The Girl Who Played' Yang Hyun-min "Thank you to everyone who loved me during the two most intense months of my life" Actor Yang Hyun-min released a Q&A ahead of the end of the drama. In the JTBC Wednesday-Thursday drama 'The Woman Who Plays', Yang Hyun-min plays the role of Kwak Jae-soo (played by Yang Hyun-min), who is rough on the outside but soft on the inside, doubling the fun of the drama and showing off his extraordinary presence. Yang Hyun-min, who played Kwak Jae-soo, showed off his solid inner strength by delivering lines that hit and miss exquisitely and acting as if he jumped out of the script and became one with the character, and furthermore, his unique humor made viewers go wild. Yang Hyun-min, who portrayed Jae-soo, who was wary of Eun-ha (played by Han Sun-hwa) at the beginning but gradually seeped in and eventually became Eun-ha's strong ally, once again defined the definition of a 'soft on the outside but soft on the inside' character and drew favorable reviews. Yang Hyun-min expressed his gratitude by quoting a line from the drama through his agency Ghost Studio, saying, "It was a really disgusting two months. I sincerely thank everyone in Korea and abroad who loved our drama." At the end of the film, Yang shared her thoughts on the film. Below is the full interview with Yang Hyun-min. - What are your thoughts on the end of 'The Girl Who Plays'? It's been an intense two months! (Those who have watched the drama will know why it's intense.) I would like to thank everyone in Korea and abroad who loved the drama! - Did you focus on anything internally or externally while playing the role of Kwak Jae Soo? ▶Internally, I focused on the character's boundaries. I think that was the most difficult part of the role, as I had to walk the line between being a tough thug and being kind, caring, and likable. I think it was difficult, so I trusted my director, so I would like to take this opportunity to thank him. On the outside, the make-up and costume team did a great job, so I don't think I had to worry about it. Thank you, make-up and costume team. - If you had to define Kwak Jae-su's charm in one word, what would it be? ▶Covering ignorance with hilarity. It seems to be. - As the story progresses, Jae-su's thoughts on the galaxy seem to be unique. What did the galaxy mean to Jae-su? I would say that Eunha was an 'uncomfortable thorn in the side' of the unconditional enemy at the beginning, but with her warmth and goodness towards her brother and us, she became an indispensable part of all of us and Jae-su's life. - Jae-soo has great chemistry with the various characters in the film. How was it working with your co-stars? It was great, great, great! I want to thank every single one of them, every single one of them. I'm really grateful to all the actors who worked with me, who accepted my inadequate acting skills. - I'm also curious about the on-set story. We laughed so much that we were hungry, we laughed so much that we were NG, we laughed so much that we were happy. Every day of filming was an epiphany. - What was your favourite scene or line of dialogue from The Girl Who Played? There are many, but the line I mentioned in the first question, "Isn't it hateful?" was a line I never expected people to like. - 'Kwak Jae-soo' from 'The Girl Who Plays' was also loved by many. What's the most memorable comment or reaction you've received? I still get comments like 'Jae-su is the worst'. - Lastly, what would you like to say to the viewers who have been following the show? ▶Thank you so much for your love and support. We will come back to you again with works and roles that will not disappoint you as much as the love you have given us. Is there any chance, writer and director, that you will be back for 'Girls Who Play' season 2? Meanwhile, Yang Hyun-min will be seen in the upcoming film 'Revolver', which is set to be released on 7 August. https://www.starnewskorea.com/stview.php?no=2024080207281999015

According to Nielsen Korea, a viewership research company, on the 2nd, the final episode of JTBC's 'Playful Woman', which aired the previous afternoon, recorded a viewership rating of 2.9%. The previous day's broadcast depicted a happy ending in which Seo Ji-hwan (played by Um Tae-goo), who escaped from his father's shackles, promised to spend the rest of his life with Go Eun-ha (played by Han Sun-hwa). Seo Ji-hwan, who lost consciousness after being attacked by Go Yang-hee (played by Im Cheol-soo), the adopted son of his father Seo Tae-pyeong (played by Kim Roe-ha), wakes up from a long sleep under Go Eun-ha's devoted care, and Seo Tae-pyeong eventually gives up his attachment to his son and lets Seo Ji-hwan go. The two, who overcame the crisis like that, take a step toward a future together with the support of those around them. 'Playful Woman' humorously tells the story of Seo Ji-hwan, a former gangster who has overcome his dark past, falling in love with the kids' creator 'Mini Sister' Go Eun-ha. The quirky appearance of Seo Ji-hwan, who is in love for the first time, and the chemistry (chemistry) of the unique supporting characters working at the company Seo Ji-hwan runs, were evaluated as creating laughter, and the directing using cartoon-like computer graphics (CG) also increased the fun of watching. Above all, Um Tae-goo, who has mainly played charismatic and weighty roles in genre dramas, added charm to the drama with his refreshing acting transformation. larus
'The Woman Who Plays' Song Seo-rin "Deep gratitude to Tae-goo Eom, Sun-hwa Han, and Thirsty Deer seniors who warmly reached out to me" Ending thoughts Song Seo-rin, an actress who received both hate and love from many viewers for her stable acting that was unexpected for a rookie in the JTBC Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Playful Woman', delivered her final farewell on the 1st filled with regret. Song Seo-rin, who played the role of 'Kang Ye-na', a top-rated kid creator who was as popular as a celebrity and recorded over a million views as well as various advertisements in the JTBC Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Playful Woman' (written by Na Kyung/directed by Kim Young-hwan, Kim Woo-hyun/produced by Base Story, IOK, SLL), left her heartfelt final thoughts. Song Seo-rin said, "The time I thought about and tried to approach 'Ye-na', who was not like me, unfortunately passed by so quickly. When I first met Ye-na, I thought she would be a friend who would receive a lot of hate, but I tried to understand and comfort her enough and express myself." She expressed her feelings filled with regret and affection. She also expressed his gratitude to everyone who worked hard with her, saying, “I am so grateful to the director, writer, staff, and many others who made it possible for me to play Yena like this.” She especially said, “I would like to express my deepest gratitude to seniors Tae-goo Eom, Sun-hwa Han, and Thirsty Deer who always reached out to me warmly even though I was a rookie who needed a lot of support.” Sh also did not forget to express hher gratitude to the actors who helped her on set, which was still unfamiliar to her as a rookie. Finally, Song Seo-rin said, “I would like to express my gratitude to everyone who loved and supported ‘Playful Woman’. It was a time when I felt once again that being able to live as an actress is such a happy and great blessing. I will work harder to greet you with a good image in a new project. Thank you.” She concluded her speech by not forgetting to express her gratitude and aspirations to the viewers. The ‘Kang Ye-na’ that Song Seo-rin played was a character who was a creator rival to Han Sun-hwa with her unique confidence and cynicism, but also had a subtle war of nerves with Um Tae-goo. As the drama progressed, she showed her presence in each episode with her acting that was hated by viewers who supported the Um Tae-goo-Han Sun-hwa couple. In addition, with her stable acting and character digestion skills that are not typical of a rookie, Song Seo-rin showed even more growth through this project, raising expectations for what kind of appearance she will show in the future. JTBC's Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Playful Woman' is a work that depicts a heart-fluttering romance full of twists and turns between Ji-hwan (played by Uhm Tae-goo), an older brother who has overcome his dark past, and Eun-ha (played by Han Sun-hwa), a 'mini-sister' who plays with children. The final episode aired on the 1st. https://sports.khan.co.kr/entertainment/sk_index.html?art_id=202408020816003&sec_id=540201
larus
'Deers' youngest member Park Jae-chan "'The Woman Who Plays' = New Beginning" Spoiler Singer and actor Park Jae-chan shared his thoughts on the end of ' Woman Who Plays'. In the JTBC Wednesday-Thursday drama 'Playful Woman' that ended on the 1st, Park Jae-chan played the role of Lee Dong-hee, the honest and innocent but secretive youngest member of the meat processing company 'Thirsty Deer', and showed off his extraordinary presence. In particular, Park Jae-chan, who played Lee Dong-hee, showed off his improved acting skills by delicately expressing the anxious inner side of a character with a painful past. Park Jae-chan shared his thoughts on the end of the drama through his agency, Dongyo Entertainment. - How do you feel about the end? ▶ I felt burdened and worried because it was my first serious drama challenge, but as we continued filming, I also had a lot of fun and learned a lot while filming happily, just like the title of the drama, ' Woman Who Plays'. I am grateful that the viewers enjoyed it too! I am so grateful to the director and staff who filmed it beautifully, and I will always work hard to show you better acting in the future. - If there is a scene or line that you remember the most. ▶ There is a scene where you cry and talk to Prosecutor Jang Hyun-woo (played by Kwon Yul) in the examination room. Dong-hee, who always seemed quiet and innocent, had a difficult burden that she couldn't talk about, and it is the scene where she confesses it, so it is the most memorable. - Following 'Our Home', you played a character with many secrets in ' Woman Who Plays'. What did you focus on the most when acting? ▶ Until Dong-hee's secret was revealed in the drama, I tried to act as comfortably as possible so as not to appear as a friend with a secret. - How was it working with the actors you acted with? ▶ It was a time when I could learn a lot while acting with my respected seniors, and it was so much fun that I felt like I was going to do a skit instead of filming whenever I went to the drama set. - What does 'Woman Who Plays' mean to Park Jae-chan? ▶ It's a work like a 'new beginning'. I was able to get off to a good start by working with great seniors, and it's a work that allowed me to grow even more. - You debuted in serious dramas in succession this year with 'Our House' and 'Woman Who Plays', earning the title of 'growing actor'. Was there a moment when you felt your own growth? ▶ I think I'm still very lacking, but sometimes when I'm acting, I feel like 'I'm not Jae-chan, I'm Dong-hee!', 'I'm Do-hyun!', and whenever that happens, I feel proud and feel that I've grown a little. - What kind of image can we expect from Park Jae-chan in his next work, 'Check In Hanyang'? ▶ Please focus on Go Soo-ra's passionate and energetic appearance, and her cute appearance as she gradually opens her heart to her friends as they begin to feel friendship. Please look forward to it. https://www.news1.kr/entertain/broadcast-tv/5499707
larus
'Playful Woman' Im Cheol-soo, Proving to be a Trustworthy Scene Stealer "I am sincerely grateful" Trustworthy scene stealer’ Lim Cheol-soo shared his affectionate thoughts on the end of the show. On the 2nd, Lim Cheol-soo said through his agency Hi-Zium Studio, “Time seems to pass really quickly once the show starts. I sincerely thank the viewers who loved ‘Playful Woman’, which many people worked hard to create. It was a time when I ‘lived’ without knowing where I would go after meeting Go Yang-hee, as if I was going on a fun adventure. I would like to express my gratitude to the director, writer, and many staff members who made it possible for Go Yang-hee to come into the world. Lastly, I would like to express my affectionate thoughts and gratitude to my Meow-pa friends and Tae-gu hyung.” Lim Cheol-soo showed his irreplaceable presence as the Meow-pa leader ‘Go Yang-hee’ in the JTBC Wednesday-Thursday drama ‘Playful Woman’, which ended on the 1st. Lim Cheol-soo captured the attention of viewers by portraying a unique and individual character with his own unique color. First, he perfectly pulled off the colorful jacket, flashy accessories, and perm hair. Lim Cheol-soo, the leader of the Meow Clan, has charisma, but he expresses the duality of the character who becomes infinitely small in front of the real leader, Seo Tae-pyeong, with delicate facial expression changes and sharp tones. His unique acting ability, which simultaneously brings small laughter and subtle tension, once again proves that he is a ‘reliable scene stealer.’ In this way, Lim Cheol-soo adds liveliness to the character, sometimes wittily and sometimes charismatically, and enriches the play. Meanwhile, Lim Cheol-soo has been recognized for his character digestion and solid acting skills in various works such as the dramas ‘Mr. Sunshine,’ ‘Crash Landing on You,’ ‘Vincenzo,’ ‘Today’s Webtoon,’ ‘Hwanhon,’ and the movies ‘Target,’ ‘Along with the Gods,’ and ‘Hostage.’ He also successfully conveyed warm emotions in the play ‘In Pursuit of Happiness,’ and is active as an actor who shows his presence across genres. https://m.edaily.co.kr/News/Read?newsId=01390726638983384&mediaCodeNo=
larus
My Sweet Mobster: Episodes 15-16 (Final) by DaebakGrits There’s a dramatic shift in tone as we head into the climactic finale of My Sweet Mobster and our hero comes face to face with his past. If he wants a happy ending for him and his lady love, then he’s going to have to fight for it — literally. EPISODES 15-16 Melodrama hits My Sweet Mobster with the force of a Truck of Doom souped up on steroids and dangerously caffeinated energy drinks. In other words, it hits hard, fast, and with a greater risk of heart palpitations among viewers, but the stakes would inevitably need to increase if our story wanted to give some credibility to the horrificness of Ji-hwan’s upbringing. However, because our plot has been more “sweet” than “mobster” up until this point, the shift in tone is a little jarring — despite all the signs last week that we were headed towards a bloody and violent finale. Maybe I was naive in thinking this drama would pull its punches, but — c’mon — have you seen Yang-hee’s outfits? That man’s too fun and fashionable to go full baddie. Or so I thought… Although it appeared Yang-hee had turned tail after his goon hit Hyung-woo with the brick, he lingered at the scene, waiting on Ji-hwan to arrive so he could pull his knife on his perceived mortal enemy. The sight of a bloody and unconscious Hyun-woo laying in Eun-ha’s arms triggers the dormant instincts that were beaten into Ji-hwan as teenager, and when he comes face to face with Yang-hee, he lets loose, funneling all his emotions into his barrage of punches. Eun-ha looks on in horror, and when the police finally drag Ji-hwan away from Yang-hee, he’s clearly mortified by his uncontrolled violence. And, along with the shame is the hopelessness of not being able to protect Eun-ha — a feeling that’s later exacerbated by Hyun-woo, whose head injury turns out to be a mere flesh wound. Hyun-woo ignores doctor’s orders to stay for observation so he can go to the police station. Here, he gives his witness statement and confirms that Ji-hwan — not whiney Sir Yang-hee of the Blackened Eye — is a good guy. However, when they’re alone, Hyun-woo lays into Ji-hwan for not being there to protect Eun-ha when she was in danger. (Excuse me, Hyun-woo? But weren’t you the one who okayed Eun-ha’s little jaunt to the dumpster by herself in the dark even though you could have escorted her there?) As the morose and chastised Ji-hwan exits the police station, he’s greeted by two individuals: his father and Eun-ha, who was not put off by his heated aggression. Unfortunately, Hyun-woo’s hypocritical lecture combined with the unexpected presence of his father is putting everything into a bleak perspective for Ji-hwan. He decides that Eun-ha would be safer if she stayed with Mi-ho and her family. Thankfully, even though this situation crushes Eun-ha and has breakup vibes all over it, it’s more of a temporary physical hiatus while Ji-hwan tries to get his RickRoll'D together — both in terms of his evil daddy and his company. As you can imagine, the Thirsty Deer is struggling now that the majority of its executives have abandoned ship. Company morale is at an all time low, and Ji-hwan’s attention is split between damage control and thwarting his father’s plans for underworld domination. Unbeknownst to Ji-hwan, while he’s colluding with his father’s scar-faced minion to obtain his father’s ledgers, Eun-ha is teaming up with Ye-na to help his company. With Marketing Deerling’s assistance, she and Ye-na sneak into Ji-hwan’s house to utilize her studio to film a company-saving video. Ye-na is appropriately jealous of the space that Ji-hwan (and his deerlings) so lovingly prepared for Eun-ha, but by this point in our story there’s very little bite or pettiness to her, as the drama has been trying to shoehorn a budding romance between Ye-na and Marketing Deerling into the plot. Honestly, they’re kind of cute together, but it’s definitely a too-little-too-late kind of situation. It’s a shame, though, because Ye-na is kind of adorable — when she isn’t coveting a man who has no interest in her, of course. more https://www.dramabeans.com/2024/08/my-sweet-mobster-episodes-15-16-final/

larus
4 Memorable Moments In The Final Episodes Of “My Sweet Mobster” Drama Aug 06, 2024 by andyzar The end has come, and as much it’d be nice to have “My Sweet Mobster” go on forever, it’s time to say goodbye to Seo Ji Hwan (Um Tae Goo), Go Eun Ha (Han Sun Hwa), and the whole Thirsty Deer family. This romantic comedy brought us one of the most charismatic male leads, one of the most adorable female leads, and some of the most hilarious secondary characters in a long while. Though the plot at times was somewhat redundant and dragged certain topics for way too long, the overall feeling of the show is quite fulfilling with a lot of good memories. To bid a proper goodbye to this K-drama, here are the most impressive moments from its final episodes. Warning: spoilers from episodes 15-16 ahead! 1. Go Eun Ha maturely supporting Seo Ji Hwan Something admirable about this K-drama is without a doubt Go Eun Ha’s character. Although some may find her as kind of meek, she has proved to be stronger and more resilient than most believed. This is truly noticeable in these last episodes as she bravely embraces Seo Ji Hwan despite the fact that she is also scared of the threat of both Go Yang Hee (Im Chul Soo) and Ji Hwan’s father. She understands that the danger is real, even more after being almost kidnaped by Go Yang Hee, but she doesn’t back down and faces Ji Hwan after he tries to push her away in order to keep her safe. By doing this, she makes her stance of not letting him abandon her for her safety, since the only person who can make her feel secure is actually Seo Ji Hwan. However, she also understands Ji Hwan’s heart, his own fears, and the concerns that plague his mind, so she puts on a brave face and accepts to wait for him until the moment is right for them to be together. And although she can’t be by his side (she even has to move out briefly from his house), she does everything in her power to help him overcome the difficulties in his life. One of those is the crisis in his company after his father forces his way into it. She puts into action her rising popularity as a kids’ content creator to promote the Thirsty Deer products, creating a viral trend with the help of none other than Kang Ye Na (Song Seo Rin), thus helping the company to get out of the crisis momentarily. 2. Seo Ji Hwan risking his life protecting his father One of the most impactful moments in these episodes was seeing Ji Hwan being hurt by Go Yang Hee. Though many viewers had already foreseen that he would get injured to the point of risking his life, nobody could have predicted that he would do it in order to protect his father. Ji Hwan might be one of the most selfless and kindest male leads to ever exist. Not only does he go to find evidence to help Jang Hyun Woo (Kwon Yool) to put his father behind bars once again, but when he sees that Gwak Jae Soo (Yang Hyun Min) is being held hostage, he accepts to be almost beaten to death in order to rescue him. Even more, he doesn’t fight back at all, but when he sees that his father is in danger, he puts himself between him and Yang Hee, receiving a mortal wound. more https://www.soompi.com/article/1678973wpp/4-memorable-moments-in-the-final-episodes-of-my-sweet-mobster
larus
"My Sweet Mobster" Actor Uhm Tae Goo on Challenges He Faced While Filming, His Tough Past & More by Lily Alice, August 8, 2024 63 20 On August 7, tvN's reality show Yoo Quiz on the Block Season 4 featured a "friends special", where actor Uhm Tae Goo made an appearance. The actor has enjoyed immense popularity after starring in My Sweet Mobster, in which he plays an ex-con, Seo Ji Hwan. Seo Ji Hwan left the world of crime and started a food distribution company that hires ex-cons, giving them a chance to start anew. But things aren't easy. He and his employees constantly face obstacles and prejudice from people who believe criminals never change. Yoo Jae Suk asked, "We had requested your participation three years ago, but you turned it down the very next day. The reason you declined was that you were too nervous about Yoo Quiz on the Block." In response, Uhm Tae Goo said, "I'm sorry. I was so nervous just thinking about Yoo Quiz that I felt I couldn't do it, so I said no. But this time, I wanted to express my gratitude for the drama's [My Sweet Mobster] success, and I ended up appearing because you invited me again." Recently, Uhm Tae Goo achieved first place in brand reputation following his role in JTBC's My Sweet Mobster. When asked to convey his thanks, the actor said, "I really wanted to say thank you to those who enjoyed My Sweet Mobster. Thank you everyone." Yoo Jae Suk then said, "It seems like you can't lie. Have you told any lies recently?" Uhm Tae Goo responded, "I said I wasn't nervous when I was in the waiting room, but I was actually nervous," evoking laughter. Talking about the drama, he said, "It was a challenge. Every project is a challenge, but this one was so different from the genres I've done before that I was scared. But I still wanted to try it, so I did. During the eight months of filming, there wasn't a single day when I felt it was easy. It was difficult to bring out the emotions." Additionally, Uhm Tae Goo mentioned that his mother had a significant influence on his decision to appear on Yoo Quiz. He said, "I wanted to appear, but I was very scared. It was the day I had to give an answer whether or not I would appear, and I said I would do it without thinking about it because it was my mother's wish." During the show, Yoo Jae Suk mentioned, "I heard that there was a time when you thought about quitting acting because you felt you lacked talent," to which Uhm Tae Goo responded, "I got that thought many times." When Yoo Jae Suk asked why he felt that way, the actor confessed, "I felt like I didn't have the talent for acting. I couldn't fit in and always had a hard time adapting [on set]. I was always scared to go to the set." Uhm Tae Goo's brother, director Uhm Tae Hwa, recalled, "There was a time when Tae Goo had a small role in a project I was working on. He played the role of a Japanese soldier. He had a line. It was just one line, but he was so nervous that he couldn't say it. He kept messing it up. The shoot ended up being delayed, and he developed a bit of trauma towards the Japanese language. It was difficult to watch him struggle, and I hoped he'd have an opportunity to grow, but that chance didn't come easily." https://mydramalist.com/article/my-sweet-mobster-actor-uhm-tae-goo-on-challenges-he-faced-while-filming-his-tough-past-more
