Character descriptions

 

Do Jae-yi ( Kim Sun-ah) is a righteous character who mainly takes charge of sexual violence cases against women who have no money and no power. However, in order to catch her opponent's weakness, she is a person with two faces, justice and cunning, who induces illegal acts, secretly acts as a butler lawyer for corrupt politics, and collects billions of won in fees.

 

Choi Kang-hoo (Oh Ji Ho) is the owner of a restaurant, the ex-boyfriend of Ko Yu-na (Oh Yoon-ah) and the love of Do Jae-yi (Kim Sun-ah). He is a man who can even give up his life when a woman is in danger, and protects Do Jae-yi, who is sick and dangerous at every moment, like a huge amount of insurance.

 

 

Go Yoo-Na (Oh Yoon-Ah) became involved in a murder case 10 years ago and she fled to the U.S. alone. Now, Go Yoo-Na is married and has a daughter. She is happy with her life, but her daughter goes missing. To find her daughter, Go Yoo-Na returns to Korea and faces the 3 friends who abandoned her 10 years ago.

 

Joo Yoo-Jung (Shin Eun-Jung) is the chairwoman of an arts foundation. When she was in a moment of difficulty with her life, a man appeared in front of her. An uncomfortable situation took place ahead of her marriage with the man.

 

Yoon Hae-Mi (Yoo-Sun) is the vice president of Mariana Hotel. She started from the bottom and worked her way to her current position. She is the type of person that if she desires anything she won’t stop until she gets what she wants.

Kim Sun Ah in discussion to star in the new revenge drama from Channel A

Kim Sun Ah will possibly be the next main character of Channel A's new revenge K-drama.

Channel A is planning to create a new K-drama with a mystery revenge genre. This will be their next series after the hit 2021 drama "Show Window: The Queen's House" which received the highest rating of 10.3%.

On November 11th, media outlet OSEN shared that Channel A is gearing up to create a new series that will be released in the first half of next year. The original plan was to produce the second season of "Show Window: The Queen's House." Instead, the broadcast channel has decided to create a new K-drama titled "Queen of the Mask" (working title).

 It was also included in the reports, that the broadcast channel offered the leading role to top actress Kim Sun Ah. 

Due to "Show Window: The Queen's House's" popularity, there were requests for a second season. Channel A was in talks to create the second installment but after discussions, it got reportedly canceled.

A representative of the broadcast channel shared, "The upcoming new mystery revenge K-drama will be similar to 'Show Window: The Queen's House' but this will not be the second season of it. The new series is planned to premiere in the first half of next year."

"Queen of the Mask" is currently in the process of organization and casting. The upcoming K-drama will reportedly air in the first half of 2023.

 

 

Kim Sun Ah's side hasn't responded to the casting reports. The top actress is currently busy with her ongoing K-drama "The Empire." She is working alongside Ahn Jae Wook, Lee Mi Sook, Song Young Chang, Shin Goo, and Oh Hyun Kyung. 

If the actress decided to star in Channel A's "Queen of the Mask" this will be her first project for 2023.

[Official] Kim Sun-ah is reviewing the lead role in 'Queen of the Mask'

Actress Kim Sun-ah is expected to return with Channel A's new drama 'Queen of the Mask'.

 

Her agency, Lead Entertainment, told Sports Trend on the 28th, “Kim Sun-ah has received an offer to appear in the Channel A drama ‘The Masked Queen’ (playplayplay by Lim Do-wan, director Kang Ho-joong) and is reviewing it.”

 

‘The Masked Queen’ is a 16-episode mystery revenge drama produced by Rae Mong-raein, who succeeded in ‘The youngest son of a conglomerate family’.

Kim Seon-ah played the role of a special prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office in JTBC’s ‘D.E.M. When her appearance in ‘The Masked Queen’ is confirmed, she will be split into a lawyer role.

The upcoming K-drama "Queen of the Mask" will be led by Kim Sun Ah, Oh Yoon Ah, Shin Eun Jung, and Yoo Sun.

On January 5th, it was officially announced that Kim Sun Ah, Oh Yoon Ah Shin Eun Jung, and Yoo Sun will be the four friends that will make up the story of the upcoming K-drama "Queen of the Mask." 

"Queen of the Mask" will be about four friends. The three friends became successful while their other friend became a murderer due to their lies from 10 years ago. The series will showcase the war of jealousy and desire between the four women. 

The upcoming series will premiere in the first half of 2023. The K-drama will exclusively air on Channel A. It will have a total of 16 episodes.

Kim Sun Ah will portray the role of Do Jae Yi. She is a popular human rights lawyer who helps and defends the weak. She is an ambitious person who got a deal to be the successor to the mayor of Tongju by dealing with dirty things

Oh Yoon Ah will bring life to the character of Ko Yoo Na. She is the person who was accused of a murder case 10 years ago. Because of this, her life became miserable. Channel A is working on a new mystery-thriller called Queen of the Mask, lining up a fierce foursome with Kim Sun-ah (The Empire), Oh Yoon-ah (Once Again), Shin Eun-jung (Dr. Park’s Clinic), and Yoo Sun (Eve).

 

Although the four were once close friends, the story embroils the group in a murder incident, prompting three to turn their backs on the fourth. Now, ten years later, that fourth friend is back and plots to unveil the true faces of her three betrayers.

Kim Sun-ah plays the leader of the pack as human rights lawyer Do Jae-yi. She’s been making a name for herself as the defender of the weak. But she’s also been taking on dirty jobs to help the current mayor with sticky situations and to secure her place in line as the city’s next mayor.

Oh Yoon-ah plays the betrayed friend Go Yoona, who tried to move on and find happiness again by getting married and moving away to the States. But she is now returning to South Korea in order to find her missing daughter, which leads her to target her three former friends.

Shin Eun-jung takes on the role of Joo Yoo-jung, the director of an arts foundation. Her current fiancé helped her through a time of sadness in her life, but she’s been feeling anxious about a recent turn of events which could have an impact on her upcoming marriage.

Rounding out the group, Yoo Sun’s character is the bubbly and ambitious Yoon Hae-mi. She started her career as a front-line employee at a hotel, but she worked hard and is now the hotel’s vice president.

The teaser for the upcoming K-drama Queen of the Mask is finally out. 

Queen of the Mask is a story of four women frenemies. Because of being lied to by the others ten years ago, one of them committed a murder. She now meets her other three friends and opens the doors of chaos in their lives. The women in the protagonist roles are Kim Sun Ah, Oh Yoon Ah, Shin Eun Jung, and Yoo Sun. 

Kim Sun Ah plays the role of Do Jae Yi, a star lawyer soon to be mayor. Oh Yoon Ah will be seen as Go Yoo Na, who leads a difficult life after being entangled in a murder case that happened ten years ago.

Shin Eun Jung takes on the role of the chairman of the Youngwoon Art Foundation Joo Yoo Jung. And Yoo Sun is Yoon Hae Mi, the vice president of Mariella Hotel. Just when she is about to be promoted to president of the company her friend and foe Yoo Na, from ten years ago, comes into her life only to be an obstacle in her way.

The unique teaser portrays the four protagonists in a monochrome image and a white mask at the end. 

 

 

Joining the talented women in the drama are the veteran male actors Oh Ji Ho, Lee Jung Jin, and Shin Ji Hoon in the support roles. 

Queen of the Mask is directed by  Kang Ho Joong and its screenplay is penned by Lim Do Wan. It will air on Channel A in April. More news is yet to come about the K-drama's release date.

The stills released portray the four characters of the K-drama, Do Jae Yi (Kim Sun Ah), Go Yoo Na (Oh Yoon Ah), Joo Yoo Jung (Shin Eun Jung), and Yoon Hae Mi (Yoo Sun), gathered at an event wearing all-white clothes and masks. 

 

 

Though the characters look cheerful, they hide feelings of jealousy and envy behind the fancy masks.

A trippy first teaser has dropped for Channel A’s upcoming Queen of the Mask, along with new character stills of our charismatic foursome: Kim Sun-ah (The Empire), Oh Yoon-ah (Once Again), Shin Eun-jung (Dr. Park’s Clinic), and Yoo Sun (Eve).

At the onset of the mystery-thriller, three of the four have been living grandly and enjoying successful careers. But it’s all at the expense of a lie made ten years ago, when the trio betrayed their fourth friend and made her take the fall for a murder she didn’t commit. Now, that old friend has re-appeared in their lives and the story follows the downward spiral as the group’s true faces become unmasked.

 

The new teaser doesn’t reveal much about the plot and is a short introduction to our four actors. But, there is a lot of symbolism at play, with the monochromatic color theme and the use of stripes to weave each of the characters’ two faces together. The video then closes its sequence on an ornate white mask.

The first of the group is Do Jae-yi (Kim Sun-ah), a famous human rights lawyer, who stoops low to help the city’s mayor clean up messes, on the condition that she becomes successor. But Jae-yi’s ambitions are also fueled by revenge, when she discovers a secret about her and her friends’ past.

Go Yoona (Oh Yoon-ah), of course, is all about revenge as the fourth friend who was framed for murder. In addition to Jae-yi, Yoona has her eyes on the other two traitors as well: arts foundation director Joo Yoo-jung (Shin Eun-jung) and hotel vice-president Yoon Hae-mi (Yoo Sun).

Written by Im Do-wan with PD Kang Ho-joong at the helm, Channel A’s Queen of the Mask is currently set to premiere in April.
