Eunsung doesn't love Haein, he is obsessed with her. This is a huge red flag.

TRUE! This is why I cringe over people swooning that Eun-sung will go through all lengths just to be Hae-in's guardian... even to the point of marrying her. He is a creep. Period.

According to Nielsen Korea, the latest episode of “Queen of Tears” scored an average nationwide rating of 19.0 percent, making it the most-watched program of any kind to air on Sunday.

Not only did the ratings mark a new personal best for the show, but “Queen of Tears” has now overtaken “Reply 1988” to achieve the third-highest ratings of any tvN drama to date. At present, “Queen of Tears” has only been bested by the smash hits “Crash Landing on You” and “Goblin,” both of which managed to break the 20 percent mark.

Actually that is all not quite correct.  Goblin and Reply never really broke the 20% mark on Nielsen/AGB nationally (they crossed 20 only for the Seoul area) and Crashlanding broke 20 only in their final Episodes.  None of those dramas had ratings like this by the 10th episode, and they did not rise in ratings as sharply as this drama has.  Like I said before, I don't know if any drama on any network has had this steep a rise in rating in the last 15 years.  There may have been one or two, but I don't remember them.

Here is what those dramas did from the start (Ep.1) to Ep.6 to Ep.10 to Ep.16 to their final Episode

Goblin - 6.3 to 11.6 to 12.7 to 18.7 (E16 final)

Reply 1988 - 6.1 to 9.3 to 13.4 to 15.4 (E16) to 18.8 (E20 final)

Crashlanding - 6.1 to 9.2 to 14.6 to 17.1 (E15) to 21.7 (E16 final)

Queen. of Tears - 5.9 to 14.1 to 19.0 (E10)

I mean, there is really no comparison.  This drama has got ratings at a higher level than anything tvN has ever had.

So when are we going to see some good news on Hae-in's treatment?  No sign of anything good.  The preview looks really ominous.  I hope they are not taking this to an actual tragic end, matching the name of the drama.   I really hope they won't!

I believe it will be a "Happy Ending".

16 episodes as of now, unless they consider any extensions.  The ratings are going through the roof, so maybe they will extend it too.

But as far as I can remember, when series gets extended the quality drops and it feels draggy. The extended episodes feels like a filler.

So if ever they do that, I hope the writers already anticipated that from the beginning and so the quality won't drop.

I'm guessing they will find out about Hae-in's illness in the next episode? Will her mom actually change or will she be forever cold to her?

I believe they'll find out next episode given that she practically announced it to the whole country via that press conference.😊And now that her illness is out in the open, there is no stopping the family from uniting to outwit Team Vipers from finding the slush fund.

If Seul-hui and Beom-ja/Grace are in the same hospital, I wonder who got to the Chairman first?🤔

I was thinking perhaps hae-in's comment to her doctor about her headaches persisting is a clue that it could be a misdiagnosis. She likely still has a tumor but it could be treatable.

I agree with you.   "Mis-Diagnosis".  That is the 1st Thing that comes to my Mind.  I had that feelings even when she was in Germany with that Doctor/ Specialist.  Her entire family will come around for her.  Tears will be shed.  And in the process, a lot of Words Which Are Kept In Their Hearts will be poured out.  And Healing will take place.

"Communications" is not an Easy Thing to do.  Looks easy.  But a lot of the time, we tend to communicate "Superficially".  We kept a lot of suspicions, fear and even love within us.   Unwilling to let them all out.  For fear of appearing Weak being one of the reasons.

Leading to Misunderstandings.

And once Hae In comes Clean, the family will communicate properly.  Hae In and Hyun Woo will have their Second Wedding.  This time with the Full Approval of her Snobbish Mother.  (That is my "Guess")

I could not wait to see that !

Hi @UnniSarah   It is good to see you here.   And "on & off" @africandramalover   too.

I don't think they will extend this.  I think we saw that they have finished shooting.  There may be no extensions.  That will be better, rather than seeing draggy episodes and useless confusion brought in.   6 more episodes, and let the drama rock!!

Spoiler

Yes, it was established when his wife left for the US with the boy, and left him a note saying the boy is "not his son" (as shown in Ep.9).  But the poor guy is heartbroken and not believing it.  In Ep.10 he tracks her down through the online video game that they used to play together, when she logged on.  He reminds her about the boy's inoculation schedule and all that and makes her tear up. It is like he does not want to believe that the boy is not his.  She seems to really miss him and probably feels really guilty about the scam she pulled.  It is pretty clear that she will come back to Korea.

But, as @UnniSarah said, it is possible that she has been lying about the baby's father to avoid them tracking her down.  I hope so.  Kwakkie's character is foolish but he really cares for that boy.

After they showed how close she and Yoon Eun Sung were, I thought that the baby must have been his, but the drama showed no scenes to indicate that he is even aware of a baby with her, so now I think it probably is Soo Chul's son.

Doing fine!  Was lurking for a while, ever since "Second Husband". That was such a good daily drama that I couldn't get into any daily dramas that followed...  Good to see you too!

@hush puppy It is good to see you too.
I hope it is a misdiagnosis because Hae In is so scared of leaving her family and Hyun Woo. She is also protective of them and tries so hard to be strong in front of them.

@partyon Hae In brother will not care at all since he loved the boy. In fact I believe he will keep it from his mom, dad and grandfather but Hyun Woo , Hae In will find out and since they have soft spot for him,  they will do everything in their power for him to never lose  the baby.  Baby boy is also attached to him.
like @jayakris said , his wife miss him terribly and they have HISTORY Like Hae In and Hyun Woo have.

They met at an orphanage and his wife bullied him when he was younger. lol lol

That is another reason why I also think that the boy could very well be his son.  The drama has now made a big deal of their history of meeting at the orphanage.  They are probably trying to make this a "destiny" thing like they were meant for each other, to make a nice love story after all, when she returns with the baby.  I would love that though, for the poor idiot Soo Chul, who is tough to dislike!

But the "noona" at the orphanage didn't look 5 years older than him then, unlike what she told him in the letter.  Maybe that is also a lie and she is probably only a couple of years older!

EDIT:  Hey, maybe Soo Chul and Da Hye should be added to the list @partyon just posted, then!!  Haha :)

I checked closely to make sure that they all were at the same hospital (we can see the same door with the plants on both sides that they walk through).

It looks like the aunt and matchmaker got there first, as she was calling the Mistress Madam from there.  But who knows if the Madame was already in the room when she called.  If not, I am hoping that they got there just after the woman in the room called somebody (maybe the Madam?) to say that his condition was unchanged and left the room, and he opened his eyes.  In that case, perhaps the aunt/matchmaker found the chairman to be conscious and moved him out of there by the time the Madam got there.

1) The difference between Eun Sung and Hyun Woo is that:

Hyun Woo  respects Hae In.  He may not see eye-to-eye with her on a lot of things, but the respect is always there.  For her intelligence, independence and courage.  That is why he is using their "Divorce" to make her stand up and fight against her illness.

While Eun Sun sees Hae In as a "Damsel in Distress".   And only he as the Knight In A Shining Armour can save her.   Because of his childhood and upbringing, Eun Sun is an inferior person who needs Affirmation.  So he can never have a healthy relationship with any woman.   Much less Hae In.

As for Hae In and Hyun Woo, their Respect for each other is Mutual.  That is the Strength of their Love.

2) Who will get to the "Sleeping Beauty" - the Silly Chairman first ? I think none of the searching parties will get to him.   He is already "Conscious".  I expect him to escape by himself.  So everybody will see "An Empty Bed".

Who gets to find him after that ?  Hyun Woo ?   Maybe...........

3) Hae In's illness.   If it is not a Misdiagnosis, the ensuing environment filled with Love and Encouragement will enable her to recover.
