Wave said, "We ask for your interest and support for the 'deal' in which young bloody veterans with acting skills and personality from Yoo Seung-ho to Kim Dong-hwi and Yoo Soo-bin will be active." 'Deal' (working title) is scheduled to start cranking in the second half of this year after finishing the casting of the main roles.

Webtoon based drama but genre is crime thriller. Hopeully we see the acting talents rise above.

The last time I really watch Yoo Seung Ho was his comeback drama "Remember War of the Son" the only drama where I  said best actor even if it only the first 2 minutes.. yes YSH acting was so worthy good! But then his next drama projects, the choices  .. I'm not liking. As someone who is a fan of his acting... given the rigth genre, good script, charcter where he can show us why he was best young actor.. prior to his joining the military,  he can give us that worthy excellent talent again! I'm not sure if this is the right one but .. fingers crossed.

Of course, I know who is Yoo Seung Ho, I read about him but I don`t think I saw him in a drama. (I checked. I only watched The Great Queen Seondeok and Arang and the Magistrate). I did not see a drama where he is a lead but I know he is a good actor.

I like the genre and the plot sounds interesting.

The accompanying teaser gives a glimpse into the escalating tension, raw emotions, and conflicts among the three friends as the incident unfolds. The raspy breath of Min Woo, which can be heard from the closet in their apartment, and the nervy attempts of Jun Seong and Jae Hyo to conceal their true identities intensify the suspense.

The situation takes a dramatic turn when Min Woo, the abducted friend, confronts Jun Seong and Jae Hyo, demanding to know if they are the ones who have tied him up. The escalating face-off between Jae Hyo, who seeks a ransom for Min Woo, and the infuriated Jun Seong, along with the suspicions of Soo An (Lee Joo Young), a police officer living next door, injects an unpredictable twist into the unfolding narrative. Finally, the revelation that the seemingly accidental kidnapping is misconstrued as the work of professionals adds further intrigue to the unfolding of The Deal.

The Deal has been invited to the On Screen section of the Busan International Film Festival, one of Asia's largest film festivals, and is generating much anticipation as one of the most eagerly awaited releases of the last quarter of 2023.

The Wavve original K-drama The Deal is poised to release on October 6th (Friday).

Yoo Seung-ho holds a friend hostage in The Deal

by solstices

E5Ye1O_2f.png

Would you sacrifice your friendship to obtain a cash cow? Upcoming 8-episode Wavve original The Deal features two down-on-their-luck protagonists who hatch a plan to kidnap their affluent college schoolmate — all in the name of a billion-won ransom.

Yoo Seung-ho (Moonshine) stars as Lee Joon-sung, an aspiring soccer player who lost his footing after his dreams went up in smoke. No longer able to run towards his goal, and no longer the star athlete at the center of attention, Joon-sung finds himself hopelessly adrift. Until one day, he finally has enough. Resolving to begin life anew, Joon-sung grits his teeth and musters his courage — and decides to kidnap his friend.

The idea didn’t materialize out of nowhere: Kim Dong-hwi (Missing: The Other Side 2) plays the main instigator Song Jae-hyo, who takes charge formulating their scheme. As a medical student, Jae-hyo thought he was set for life, but a crisis has him veering off his prestigious path. Desperate to crawl out of the trench he’s fallen into, Jae-hyo impulsively whips up a hostage conspiracy and recruits Joon-sung as his accomplice.

Their trussed-up hostage is Yoo Soo-bin (D.P. 2), playing the chaebol son Park Min-woo. As his family’s sole heir, he seems like the perfect sacrificial lamb for our kidnapper duo to earn a quick buck. However, Min-woo is far from a meek, hapless victim. Although Joon-sung and Jae-hyo take precautionary measures to cover their tracks, such as using a computer-generated voice to avoid recognition, Min-woo catches on quick. Calling out his buddies’ names, he confronts them directly — Min-woo’s not about to sit quietly by and let himself be exploited.

In addition, we’ll be treated to a special appearance by Lee Joo-young (Broker), who plays the aspiring police officer Cha Soo-ahn. For now, she seems unable to act in any official capacity, but perhaps this case will be just what she needs to prove her worth and secure her spot in the police force.

Helmed by PD Lee Jung-gon (Not Out) with scripts written by Hong Jong-sung, The Deal will be released via Wavve on October 6.
