Chae Rim returns to TV drama and has a neat takeoff after two years.

Her new drama “Oh Dal Ja’s Spring” records 14.9% TV rating on 1/3, which opens the true feeling of her acting skill. This drama is the first drama after her previous project “Oh! Feel Young” aired in 2004 and her undergoing painful divorce.

At the same broadcasting time slot, SBS drama “Lovers” scores 21% rating while MBC drama “90 Days, Time for Love” had 4.7% rating. Although Chae Rim cruises on the first episode, the final episode of “Lovers”, which will be aired next week, will probably give some elasticity to this new drama. Then, “Palace S” starring Se7en and Huh Yi Jae will be aired in next week, and “Surgeon Bong Dal Hee” will be aired in the week following next week, which makes these three new dramas form 3-way outstretched situation.

Chae Rim shows the audience her balanced performance through the buoyant storylines. The drama “Oh! Feel Young”’s script writer Kang Eun Kyung has written two dramas that particularly suit for Chae Rim’s personality. In this drama, with CR’s narration flowing, she presents a pro as an MD of a home shopping channel with transformation from outward appearance. After the first episode is broadcasted, the BBS of this drama is filled with comments on CR’s transformation. Many viewers has good evaluations such as “Chae Rim’s type of performance (채림표 연기)”.

In addition to Oh Dal Ja, other characters such as the flirting Shin Se Do (신세도, played by Gong Hyung Jin) sitting both sides of the fence, the home shopping host Wee Sun Joo (위선주, played by Lee Hye Young) who lives the cat-and-dog life, and Kang Tae Bong (강태봉, played by Lee Min Gi) who works for a moonlight dating service company develop along the drama. Later, the representative of the home shopping channel Uhm Gi Joong (엄기중), Kang Tae Bong, and Oh Dal Ja will develop triangle love relationship.

The first episode of KBS2 Wednesday-Thursday drama “Oh Dal Ja’s Spring” elicits good evaluations from viewers. The viewers don’t hide their anticipations of this drama by posting messages such as “The greatest and resilient Chae Rim’s type of performance” and “The forefeel of a big hit drama”.

Chae Rim and Kang Eun Kyung, the writer of the drama “Oh! Feel Young”, collaborate once again in this new drama. This romantic-comical drama portrays the job and love of a 33-year-old spinster Oh Dal Ja.

In the first episode, Dal Ja learns that the man she likes sitting both sides of the fence, and then she meets Tae Bong who works for a dating service and gives her a favor.

After the broadcasting of the first episodes, viewers give praises to Chae Rim, Lee Min Gi, Gong Hyung Jin, and Lee Hye Young at the BBS of the drama. Especially, Chae Rim gets hot praises.

For example, viewers post messages with titles such as “Now, it is Chae Rim”, “Also, the birth of Chae Rim’s type of drama”, “CR’s forever brightness and liveliness matches this uncontrolled and lovely character”, “Good performance, matched casting, true diversity, best endeavor, and real powers of performers.”

The first episode records 14.9% nationwide TV rating on 1/3.

heeh, watching EP 2 again...why does Dal Ja seem to think Tae Bong's a pervert? Is it because of his job? He gets slapped when she imagined him doing something to her when she was drunk up in the hotel room on Christmas Eve. And then again at the end of the episode when she imagines the two locking lips to the point he rips off the front of her dress?!

But then again, Min Ki's facial features does remind you of those leading males in anime who are somewhat perverted, get bloody noses if they look at a hot female...

So does anyone know who he's sending his money to? Or at least what was written on what he gave to the bank clerk?

And did you notice? Either Tae Bong's very smart, or he had plenty of time on his hands...because in the scene where he's at home feeling guilty over what he had done, he's playing around with that cube (I forgot what it's called) and he makes some decision and sets it down along w/ the remote control, and if you take a look at the cube, the colors are in their corresponding positions.

I really like how Dal Ja and Son Ju handled their differences/came to an understanding.

creidesca great analysis you got there taebong is very mysterious since there are lots of things about him that we dont kno yet. that makes us want to watch more.. yah i noticed the rubic cube he was able to finish it while watching tv. and i even thought at first when he was trying on those clothes and making dalja pay.. he made dalja kind of "sugarmom" but then he tried to sell it.. now i question why. and those gansters who taebong was hding from. it's so funny that dalja was always with him everytime those gangsters appear..

im loving the pair now. the scene where they were against the wall and so close together made my heart races haha!

i also laughed when soonae (dalja's sunbae) was so loud in the comfort room... she is fun to watch!

ratings remained the same for the whole korea and increased for seoul yeah!

as for the subbing teams.. there are still no teams to sub.. but i asked already one of the groups and they said theyll think about it. if you are also part of any group maybe you can include this drama as part of your projects thanks so much!

Ripgal, could you tell what is controversial scene ? . Is Lovers any good ?. I do not like KJE (I got irritated with her in LIP and stop watching after only 1 episode) . I would love to see the ratings for DJ's spring in the 20s . I love anything with CR in it

^ Lovers is very good. It's my favourite series amongst all other series that i am watching at the moment. as for the controversial scene, i meant a bed scene. tho not common in Kdramas, but definitely a mature and beautifully done shot. as for KJE, i think she's a great actress and her chemistry with LSJ in Lovers is just excellent. they're one of my fav couples now..

and sorry 4 being off topic, for me, i haven't seen Chae Rim act since her banjun with Eric, nor have i seen Lee Min Ki act before. so i am interested in watching this one... seems like a cute series. i love to have a good laugh

did you see that dalja's lawyer's name is jang dong-geon. LOL i thought that was hilarious. what a resemblance..

there's something about lee min-ki's character. taebong? taepong? what was his name.. anyways.. something about his character that is really intriguing.. i think he must have a real good reason to leave the top-5 law firm a year ago.. and i think that is related to the money he is depositing into that mysterious account.. my guess is that something happened at the lawfirm he worked at (like a death or something) that has turned him into the 'carefree' person he tries to be.. and he must be a genius of some sort he's just hiding it to 'get away' from his past..? anyone know more.?

oh i love gong hyeong-jin. and his character name, shin se-do is really funny to me for some reason. he sounds like a neighborhood name or street name. he's a perfect fit for that role though.. loved him in 'alone in love'.. stellar.

anyone care to interpret these two panels? The second one (featured at the end of EP 2) seems pretty easy...it's the first one that has got me pretty much clueless. What's the significance of the snake? It's clearly wrapped around Dal Ja...but is it also wrapped around the "other" Tae Bong? And the heart in a box?

Ooooh, loved reading all your comments & guesses.....seems like the imaginative minds here are quite a match for Dal Ja's Hope to have chinese or english subs soon, it'll be more interesting to understand their dialogues as I think they should be quite witty & comical
