ENA’s upcoming drama “Love is for Suckers” has shared a glimpse of AB6IX’s Lee Dae Hwi in character!

“Love is for Suckers” is a new romantic comedy starring Lee Da Hee and Super Junior‘s Choi Siwon as two best friends who have known each other for 20 years. When they meet as the producing director (PD) and a cast member of a reality dating show, they unexpectedly begin to develop romantic feelings for one another.

Lee Dae Hwi will be playing the role of Kim Sang Woo, a rookie variety show producer under Goo Yeo Reum (Lee Da Hee)’s tutelage. Skilled at running all sorts of errands and taking care of the little things on set, Kim Sang Woo makes a reliable assistant for the more experienced Goo Yeo Reum, who needs all the help she can get on the hectic filming set.

In newly released stills from the upcoming drama, the busy Kim Sang Woo frantically runs around to wherever he is needed at the moment. In one photo, he holds up the slate to mark the start of filming; in another, he can be seen rushing around to resolve unexpected crises on set. Yet another photo captures the rookie producer looking sheepish as he gets scolded by Goo Yeo Reum, apparently having made some sort of mistake.

Lee Dae Hwi remarked, “I was so happy and had so much fun during filming. Because it was my first time appearing in a full-fledged drama, I was very nervous and felt a lot of pressure, but thanks to the director and senior actors giving me a lot of help on set, I was able to do a good job filming.”

In the new poster, Goo Yeo Reum makes a cute expression while holding a camera in her hands, hinting at her job as a variety show PD.

 

Park Jae Hoon looks very confident and poses as if he is aware of his popularity since he is equipped with both a handsome appearance and a good profession. Next to each of them, there is a television which has a close-up of each other’s face on the screen. The text that reads, “You are… making my heart flutter?!” suggests a change in their relationship that is more than just friends. Viewers are curious to find out about the new emotions that the two who have been best friends living in the same neighborhood for the past 20 years will discover after meeting as a reality dating show producer and cast member.

Lee Da-hee and Choi Siwon fail to prove that Love is for Suckers

Another round of promos has been released for ENA’s Love is for Suckers, including new character posters and a video teaser of our bickering OTP.

In a classic rom-com set-up, our heroine Gu Yeo-reum – played by Lee Da-hee (L.U.C.A.: The Beginning) – is long-time friends and neighbors with Choi Siwon’s (Work Later, Drink Now) Park Jae-hoon. But their almost too comfortable friendship is about to be shaken, of course, when Jae-hoon agrees to appear on Yeo-reum’s dating reality show and cue the denial of ~feelings~.

 

 

The new video teaser begins with Jae-hoon interviewing that he’s been friends with Yeo-reum since high school. She calls and sends a text, cutely asking Jae-hoon to bring chicken feet take-out for dinner, and he messages back: “You can use your finger to order delivery.” We then cut to Yeo-reum’s interview, where she calls Jae-hoon her faithful neighborhood friend.

Updating Jae-hoon on her dating life, Yeo-reum claims that she changed her approach and is going for a sexy vibe. He scoffs that she’s far from sexy, but is taken aback when he catches sight of Yeo-reum with another man. Disapprovingly, he wonders why she’s letting a man into her home at 1 AM and randomly tries to distract himself by dancing to loud hiphop. Enter Yeo-reum who calls him crazy for putting on a show in the middle of the night.

As we return to Jae-hoon’s interview, he explains that Yeo-reum is a variety show PD and worries that her show isn’t doing well. Poor Yeo-reum is trying her best, but continues to disappoint her boss with low ratings. In her interview, Yeo-reum explains that Jae-hoon looks like he’s unemployed, but is actually a doctor – which always impresses people. In the intermittent text screens, we read: “Our once safe relationship is starting to shake!”

The video then jumps to Noh Susanna (Men Are Men) telling Min Jin-woong (Secret Royal Inspector and Joy) that Jae-hoon is appearing on Yeo-reum’s show. Yeo-reum gives the excuse that she was pressed for time and didn’t have a choice, while Jae-hoon garbles his response. We watch as our hero transforms from scruffy to dandy, surprising everyone when he arrives on set. The teaser then closes on Yeo-reum’s conflicted expression when a contestant asks Jae-hoon about his ideal partner.

Kang Seo Joon to join the ENA drama "Love Is for Suckers"

Kang Seo Joon will be added to the cast of the upcoming drama "Love Is for Suckers."

On September 29th, Kang Seo Joon's agency announced that the actor would be part of the upcoming ENA drama "Love Is for Suckers" that will air next week. 

The upcoming ENA Wednesday and Thursday drama "Love Is for Suckers" will revolve around 20-year-old best friends who will unexpectedly work together as a producer and performer of a love reality show. 

The series will be the latest work of director Choi Kyu Shik ("Drinking Solo" and "Let's Eat 3") and writer Kim Sol Ji ("Pegasus Market" and "Joseon Survival"). It will be produced by KT Studio Genie and StoryTV. 

Kang Seo Joon will be joining main leads Lee Da Hee, Super Junior's Choi Si Won, Jo Soo Hyang, Park Yeon Woo, Im Ha Ryong, and Yang Hee Kyung. 

He will portray the role of General Hwang, a fitness trainer full of charm and passion. He will join the love reality show and he aims to be the winner of the program. 

"Love Is for Suckers" will premiere on October 5th. The series will have a total of 16 episodes. It will air on the ENA channel and it will also be available on the global OTT platform, Viki.

 

 

 

 

This will be the first official drama of Kang Seo Joon after three years. He last starred in the 2019 series "Special Labor Inspector Jo" with Kim Dong Wook, Park Se Young, Kim Kyung Nam, Ryu Deok Hwan, Seol In Ah, and Oh Dae Hwan. 

He made a special appearance in the 2020 drama "Mom Has an Affair" and the 2021 drama "The Devil Judge." 

Kang Seo Joon made his acting debut in 2006. Since then, he has starred in several dramas such as "Happy Sisters," "The Unusual Family," "I Have a Lover," "My Mother is a Daughter-In-Law," "My Love, Madame Butterfly," "Warrior Baek Dong Soo," and more.

“Love is for Suckers” tells the story of a “realistic survival romance” between Goo Yeo Reum (Lee Da Hee) and Park Jae Hoon (Super Junior’s Choi Siwon), who have been best friends for 20 years. The pair begins to experience romantic feelings for each other after unexpectedly meeting as a producing director (PD) and cast member of a reality dating show.

In the stills, Goo Yeo Reum and Park Jae Hoon walk down the alley while sharing an ice cream under the street lights late at night. Looking at the way Park Jae Hoon eats the ice cream, Goo Yeo Reum gets startled at first, but she soon continues the conversation calmly. Park Jae Hoon, who was trying to entertain Goo Yeo Reum with his playful facial expression and funny manner of speaking, stares at Goo Yeo Reum with a serious face.

On October 6, both new dramas enjoyed significant rises in viewership for their second episodes. According to Nielsen Korea, the second episode of “Love is for Suckers” scored an average nationwide rating of 1.2 percent, marking a 50 percent increase from the rom-com’s premiere the previous night.
