"Bad Mother" is a healing comedy drama about a mother who made her son become a prosecutor but lost his memory due to an accident.

The mother had no choice but to be a bad mother to her children and her prosecutor son who will lose his memory and becomes thinking like a child again.

Character descriptions

Young-Soon (Ra Mi-Ran) is a single mother and runs a pig farm. She raised her son Kang-Ho alone. Young-Soon made herself into a bad mother and was strict with Kang-Ho, because she didn’t want him to become like her.

 

Kang-Ho (Lee Do-Hyun) is all grown up. He works as a prosecutor and has a cold-hearted personality. While pursuing his career and holding his own secret, he turned away his mother Young-Soon. One day, Kang-Ho has an unexpected accident and becomes like a child. He moves back to his hometown and begins a new life with his bad mother Young-Soon. Meanwhile, Mi-Joo (Ahn Eun-Jin) is Kang-Ho’s childhood friend. She has a warm heart and is the type of person who can’t walk away from injustice. She meets Kang-Ho again, who has become like a child, and her life changes.

 

Mi Joo (Ahn Eun Jin) is  Kang Ho’s long-time friend. Mi Joo has a big heart and cannot stand injustice, and she gives her all when it comes to love and honor. She falls on hard times financially, returning to her hometown broke only to once again meet Kang Ho, who has now turned into a child.

Ra Mi Ran will possibly star in a new JTBC drama!

On July 8th it was reported by media outlet YTN Star that Ra Mi Ran has been picked as the main lead of the upcoming series titled "Bad Mother" (literal translation). The series is set to premiere next year. 

"Bad Mother" is a healing comedy drama that will revolve around Young Soon, a mother who had no choice but to become a bad one to her son Kang Ho. His son Kang Ho was a prosecutor who lost his memory one day and became a fool. 

Ra Mi Ran received the offer to play the role of Young Soon, the mother of the prosecutor who lost his memory. The actress hasn't responded to the casting reports. 

The upcoming series will be directed by Shim Na Yeon ("Beyond Evil" and "Moment at Eighteen"). The script will be penned by Bae Se Young ("Extreme Job" and "Stellar: A Magical Ride"). The series will be produced by SLL and Film Monster. 

There are still no details yet on who will play the role of Ra Mi Ran's character's son named Kang Ho.

By 2022, Ra Mi Ran is booked and busy with various dramas and movies, but also, recently, media outlet YTN Star reported that Ra Mi Ran had been cast as the main lead in the upcoming series titled «Bad Mother” (literal translation). The series will premiere next year. «Bad Mother» is a healing comedy-drama that will revolve around Young Soon, a mother who had no choice but to become a bad mother to her son Kang Ho who was a prosecutor who one day lost his memory and became a fool.

Actors Lee Do Hyun and Ra Mi Ran might be coming together to star in a new K-drama! Helmed by ‘Beyond Evil’ director Shim Na Yeon, and written by Bae Se Young, the upcoming JTBC drama ‘Bad Mom’ (literal title) is set to be a comedy that exudes warmth, about a mother Young Soon, and her son, Kang Ho. 

On August 22, it was reported that ‘Youth of May’ star Lee Do Hyun received an offer for a leading role in the upcoming JTBC drama. Following this, the actor’s agency responded to the report, stating, “Lee Do Hyun received an offer to star in ‘Bad Mom’ and is positively reviewing (the offer).”

The star is currently reviewing the role of the son in the drama, Kang Ho. The character follows his mother’s wishes and becomes a prosecutor, but after losing his memory one day, becomes child-like. Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Ra Mi Ran will be taking on the role of Kang Ho’s mother Young Soon, who ends up becoming a “bad mom”, though doing her best for her son.

Lee Do Hyun debuted in 2017 through the drama ‘Prison Playbook’, which saw him taking on the role of Jung Kyung Ho’s character’s younger version. Lee Do Hyun will reportedly be part of the upcoming JTBC drama "Bad Mother."

On August 23rd, the media outlet Dispatch reported that Lee Do Hyun will be one of the main casts of the upcoming drama "Bad Mother." Ra Mi Ran was the first to receive the offer to be part of the drama. 

Lee Do Hyun's agency Yuehua Entertainment responded to the reports and stated that the actor did receive an offer to star in "Bad Mother." They also stated that Lee Do Hyun is positively considering the offer.

On November 9th, media outlet SPOTV News shared that Jo Jin Woong will reportedly make a special appearance in the JTBC series "Bad Mother." It was also revealed that the actor already finished filming for his cameo role.

The drama will tell the story of how they try to find happiness once again and is said to have an emotionally moving storyline mixed with light, comedic scenes as well. Ra Mi Ran will take on the role the tenacious “bad mom” Young Soon who does everything she can to protect her child. Completely alone, she manages a pig farm while raising her son, turning herself into a bad mom in order to shield her son from any pain she has had to go through. Viewers can anticipate a very moving performance from Ra Mi Ran as she portrays a woman who has built up her walls so high to shield herself and her child. On January 12, JTBC announced that Ra Mi Ran, Lee Do Hyun, and Ahn Eun Jin will be the main leads of the upcoming comedy K-drama "Bad Mom." 

"Bad Mom" is a healing comedy K-drama that will tell the story of Young Soon, a mother who has no choice but to become a bad mother to her child, and her son Kang Ho who will return to being a child because of amnesia after an unexpected accident. 

The upcoming series will be the latest work of director Shim Na Yeon ("Beyond Evil" and "Moment at Eighteen") and writer Bae Se Young ("Extreme Job" and "Stellar: A Magical Ride").

Ra Mi Ran will portray the role of the bad mother named Young Soon. She became a bad mother in order not to bear the pain and protect her child as she raises him alone. She will have a sudden change wherein she will be crueler to her son when she feels sorry after the accident.
