TV Chosun weekend drama 'Red Balloon' released the first teaser video on the 7th.

NISI20221107_0001123613_web.jpg?rnd=2022

'Red Balloon' depicts a heart-warming story of the relative deprivation we all suffer from, the thirst of desire, and the struggle to appease that thirst. Writer Moon Young-nam and director Jin Hyeong-wook have collaborated for the fourth time following the dramas 'The Three Suspicious Brothers', 'The Royal Family', and 'What's Wrong with Mr. Poongsang'.

In the video released along with this, the secrets about the desires of her best friends Jo Eun-kang (Seo Ji-hye) and Han Bada (Hong Soo-hyun), who have never been seen since high school, were revealed. First, Jo Eun Kang blows a red balloon into the air and prepares for her party, saying, "I'm excited when I see a balloon. It feels good."

However, as the red balloon flew in the distance, the wine glass shattered, revealing Han Bada's husband, Go Ji-won (Lee Sang-woo), kissing Jo Eun-kang violently. Then, with the voice of "Have you ever been attracted to someone other than your partner? Haven't you?", the high-level appearance of blowing Jo Eun-kang's injured knee with her mouth heralded catastrophe.

Above all, while holding hands in the pouring rain with Jo Eun-gang and the sea, while jumping and having fun like a child, “You are my golden friend” at the same time, the past that the two of them made a promise with their pinky fingers in high school overlap. and highlights the strong friendship between the two.

Seo Ji Hye Is A Cheerful, Aspiring Teacher With A Hidden Agenda In Upcoming Weekend Drama

Seo Ji Hye will showcase a new image in TV Chosun’s upcoming weekend drama!

Starring Seo Ji Hye, Lee Sung Jae, Hong Soo Hyun, and Lee Sang Woo, TV Chosun’s new miniseries “Red Balloon” (literal translation) is a thrilling yet passionate story about the sense of deprivation we all feel when comparing ourselves to others, the thirst of jealous ambition, and our struggles to quench that thirst.

Seo Ji Hye stars as Jo Eun Kang, who dreams of becoming a teacher, but instead works as a tutor after consistently failing her employment exams. While Jo Eun Kang appears quiet and calm on the outside, she harbors a fiery personality in her heart. Almost to the point of becoming subservient, Jo Eun Kang will let go of everything for her dreams. She has the grit and determination to endure any situation and is talented enough to able to win people over in order to achieve her goals.

Different from her previous roles in “Adamas,” “Kiss Sixth Sense,” “Crash Landing on You,” and “Heart Surgeons,” Seo Ji Hye’s upcoming drama will capture a completely new side of her acting.

This transformation is shown in Seo Ji Hye’s first photos as the charming Jo Eun Kang, who has a soft smile. The two stills feature Jo Eun Kang smiling happily at different target points, including the titular “Red Balloon” and her cellphone. Stay tuned to find out what kind of hidden goals the happy Jo Eun Kang has and what situation forces her to reveal her dangerous ambition.

Seo-Ji-Hye-1-2-768x768.jpg

Seo-Ji-Hye-2-1-768x768.jpg

The actress shared, “After hearing writer Moon Young Nam say ‘You can show a spectrum of emotions from 0 to 100 as the character Eun Kang,’ I worried, thinking, ‘Will I be able to do it?’ but I also had a desire to try it out. As an actress, I wanted to try growing, one step further.”

She continued, “I’m working hard using the words ‘Stay true to the story’s flow and script’ as my stepping stone. The writer’s advice to erase Seo Ji Hye and become Eun Kang has been a lot of help while acting.”

The “Red Balloon” production team commented, “While endlessly analyzing and thinking about the character of Jo Eun Kang, Seo Ji Hye is doing her best and fully immersing. We ask for lots of anticipation and attention for Seo Ji Hye’s acting transformation, as she will elicit the greatest empathy, tears, and emotion in ‘Red Balloon.'”

TV Chosun’s “Red Balloon” will premiere on December 17.

Red Balloon’ Lee Sang-woo reunites with Moon Young-nam after 15 years

image_readtop_2022_1048916_1669092841524

Actor Lee Sang-woo shared his impressions of reuniting with writer Moon Young-nam after 15 years.

TV CHOSUN's new weekend mini-series 'Red Balloon' (script Moon Young-nam/director Jin Hyung-wook/producer Green Snake Media, Highground), which will be broadcasted for the first time on December 17th, is about the relative deprivation we all suffer from, the thirst for desire that hurts our stomachs, and that thirst. It contains the risky and hot story of us struggling to appease the child.

Lee Sang-woo plays the role of Ko Da-won, a dermatologist and husband of Han Bada (Hong Soo-hyun) in 'Red Balloon'. In the play, Go-cha-won became a doctor as expected by his family, but he always thinks of other businesses because he does not fit his aptitude. He not only has a tall and distinguished appearance, but also has a good heart and humor, and has a personality that treats others kindly as he was raised. He is at the center of the conflict between his mother Na-gongju (Yoon Mi-ra) and his wife, Han Bada, but he is unable to organize traffic, so he makes fun of it, raising the conflict with his father.

Above all, Lee Sang-woo burns his passion for acting by going back and forth between dramas and movies, and he has continued to take on challenges without rest by radiating a different charm in entertainment such as TV CHOSUN's 'Golf King'. In particular, through 'Red Balloon', Lee Sang-woo reunited with writer Moon Young-nam after 15 years after 'Jogang Branch Club', drawing attention to whether he will create another 'megaton hit'. Lee Sang-woo, who has proven his unique charm as an 'actor to be trusted with' with a gentle expression and a subtle smile, is drawing attention to what kind of demonic high-level character he will make to shake the hearts of Korean women in 'Red Balloon'.

In this regard, the first force that Lee Sang-woo transformed into a high-level wearing a dandy and stylish shirt and hairstyle was revealed. A scene in which a high dimension dressed in luxurious clothes is looking at someone with a bright smile. In addition to this, a high-dimensional figure gazing somewhere with puzzled eyes is captured, raising questions. Curiosity is gathering for the high-level activity that will portray the standard of a good and kind 'warm husband'.

Lee Sang-woo expressed his respect by conveying the opportunity to appear in the work, saying, "It was the work of writer Moon Young-nam, whom I love and always want to work with, so I decided with a very happy heart before even receiving the script." He continued, “I felt pressured to do better because it was my first meeting with the writer in 15 years, but it was so fun that I forgot the pressure after reading the script, so I thought I should focus on the role and do it comfortably.”

In addition, Lee Sang-woo explained about Go Dimension, “I am a dermatologist who grew up in a family that is not lacking, and there is a bit of conflict between mother and wife because I am married, but I have a good personality who tries to overcome it well.” I'm also curious, but I'm slightly thinking that the name might have an answer. For now, I'm trying to act faithfully to the current script", even delivering a witty spectator tip related to the 'name', igniting viewers' desire for a live shooter.

The production team said, "Lee Sang-woo is drawing a high-level character through inner acting that revives the texture of emotions."

The production team commented, “In the two-person poster, we tried to project the powerful image of Jo Eun Kang, who slowly recognizes her suppressed ambition, and Han Ba Da, who ends up feeling a sense of loss as a result. Additionally, in Jo Eun Kang, Han Ba Da, and Go Cha Won’s three-person poster, we tried to capture the explosive narrative that stems from a sense of relative deprivation in ‘Red Balloon.'”

TV Chosun’s “Red Balloon” will premiere on December 17 at 9:10 p.m. KST.

Seo Ji Hye Tries To Mend Her And Seol Jung Hwan’s Souring Relationship With A Romantic Dinner In Upcoming Drama

“Red Balloon” (literal translation) has shared photos of Seo Ji Hye and Seol Jung Hwan’s lukewarm dinner date.

Starring Seo Ji Hye, Lee Sung JaeHong Soo Hyun, and Lee Sang Woo, TV Chosun’s new miniseries “Red Balloon” is a thrilling yet passionate story about the sense of deprivation we all feel when comparing ourselves to others, the thirst of jealous ambition, and our struggles to quench that thirst.

Seo Ji Hye stars as Jo Eun Kang, who dreams of becoming a teacher, but instead works as a tutor after consistently failing her employment exams. While Jo Eun Kang appears quiet and calm on the outside, she harbors a fiery personality in her heart. Seol Jung Hwan plays her boyfriend Kwon Tae Gi, who is four years younger than her.

Over the course of their four-year relationship, Jo Eun Kang has supported Kwon Tae Gi as he prepared to take his civil service exam while she patiently awaited their engagement. However, Kwon Tae Gi has taken her kindness and patience for granted and become snobby, causing their relationship to go sour.

The new stills capture the icy tension between Jo Eun Kang and Kwon Tae Gi as they share a meal. After preparing the food, Jo Eun Kang goes the extra mile by decorating Kwon Tae Gi’s house with flowers, wine, and balloons. When he returns home, she welcomes him with a bright smile, but Kwon Tae Gi responds with a dissatisfied look.

Seo Ji Hye, Lee Sang Woo, And More Talk About Charms Of Their Upcoming Drama “Red Balloon”

The cast and director of “Red Balloon” have shared their aspirations ahead of the drama’s premiere on December 17!

On December 15, TV Chosun’s new weekend drama “Red Balloon” held an online press conference attended by director Jin Hyung Wook along with actors Seo Ji Hye, Lee Sung Jae, Hong Soo Hyun, Lee Sang Woo, and Jung Yoo Min.

“Red Balloon” is a thrilling yet passionate story about the sense of deprivation we all feel when comparing ourselves to others, the thirst of jealous ambition, and our struggles to quench that thirst. Seo Ji Hye stars as Jo Eun Kang, who dreams of becoming a teacher but instead works as a tutor after consistently failing her employment exams. Lee Sang Woo plays Han Ba Da’s (Hong Soo Hyun’s) husband Go Cha Won, who is a dermatologist.

At the press conference, Seo Ji Hye explained why she chose this project by saying, “Moon Young Nam is a great television screenwriter. This was a big factor for me [in choosing this project]. Also, I think that Jo Eun Kang is an unusual character. It was appealing to me that she is a character who can reveal the essence of human beings and desires.”

Hong Soo Hyun who stars as Han Ba Da, a jewelry designer with a cheerful personality, remarked, “When I first read the script, it felt lively as if I was watching a drama even though it was written text. Even after I finished reading the script, I kept thinking about Han Ba Da and was very excited thinking about how I am going to act.” The actress also shared that as her character’s occupation is a jewelry designer, she cut her hair short in order to look sophisticated and stylish.

Lee Sang Woo who plays the husband of Han Ba Da and dermatologist Go Cha Won reunited with writer Moon Young Nam after 15 years since “First Wives’ Club” in 2007. He shared, “I was too inexperienced when I was filming for ‘First Wives’ Club.’ I have felt so apologetic about that and worked hard on other dramas for 15 years while waiting for her to call me again. She really did call me through this project, so I wanted to do well this time.”

Premiere Watch: Red Balloon

by missvictrix

redballoon_pc.jpg

Time slot: Saturday-Sunday
Broadcaster: TV Chosun
Genre: Melodrama, family
Episode count: 20

Reasons to watch: I have to give it to TV Chosun — they definitely know their audience and their kind of storytelling. And with Seo Ji-hye (fresh from an amazing performance in Adamas) and Lee Sang-woo in the lead, I’m actually kind of excited to see if the drama will be able to live up to its high promises of addictive storytelling. Tell me I won’t want to turn off this drama, and I believe you! Centered on four characters, their spouses, and the families they’ve married into, the drama is all about their ambitions, desires, passions, and — of course — frustrations. Because you can’t have high drama if everything goes your way

TL;DR: Seo Ji-hye, TV Chosun doing its thing
