Watch: Cho Seung Woo Confidently Commits To Helping Han Hye Jin Win Her Lawsuit In New “Divorce Attorney Shin” Teaser

“Divorce Attorney Shin” has previewed Cho Seung Woo’s important meeting with Han Hye Jin!

Based on a popular webtoon, JTBC’s “Divorce Attorney Shin” will tell the story of a talented divorce lawyer punnily named Shin Sung Han (the word “shinsunghan” means “sacred” in Korean).

Cho Seung Woo will star as Shin Sung Han, a classical pianist who was born to an affluent family and grew up enjoying every advantage in life. Due to his talent and intelligence, Shin Sung Han becomes a professor at a university in Germany in his thirties—but just when it seems he has everything going for him, he catches wind of some shocking news that changes his life forever.

Having lost his enjoyment of life, Shin Sung Han suddenly switches career paths and begins studying to become a lawyer. That’s how he becomes acquainted with radio DJ Lee Seo Jin (Han Hye Jin), who seeks out his services for her custody and divorce case.

The drama’s second teaser focuses on the relationship between Shin Sung Han and Lee Seo Jin as they work together to finalize her divorce “well.” At the start of the clip, Shin Sung Han is with his best friend Jang Hyung Geun (Kim Sung Kyun) who tells him, “Lee Seo Jin, my radio DJ, quit.” When Shin Sung Han expresses confusion, Jang Hyung Geun responds with an annoyed tone, “The radio DJ I enjoy listening to! Remember please!”

Their conversation is then interrupted by a client waiting to speak to Shin Sung Han, which turns out to be none other than Lee Seo Jin herself. She confidently explains, “I’ve received a notice for divorce. I’m going to do it well. Divorce.”

However, things don’t seem to be going that well for Lee Seo Jin as Shin Sung Han tells her, “I’m not sure of the reason, but I don’t think the situation is great to be able to divorce well.” At home, Lee Seo Jin is attacked by her husband while their child talks about hating his mother.

Lee Seo Jin then asks Shin Sung Han, “What is your standard? Your standard of divorcing well?” This question represents how desperate Lee Seo Jin is, which flips a switch in Shin Sung Han’s mind. He commits to working with her and says with confidence, “That’s why I’m telling you that we have to win this lawsuit, no matter what.” He holds out his hand then adds, “Let’s see who wins.”

Jo Seung-woo counsels Han Hye-jin as Divorce Attorney Shin

by tccolb

jtbc_divorceattorneyshin_tt-1.jpg

New stills and a video teaser have been released for JTBC’s Divorce Attorney Shin, unveiling more about Han Hye-jin (Let’s Hold Hands and Watch the Sunset) and how she comes to meet our hero Jo Seung-woo (Sisyphus).

Shin Sung-han (Jo Seung-woo) is the lawyer to seek when dealing with a divorce — but he started out in classical piano before moving into the courtroom instead. No matter what life brings, he can always rely on his two friends, Kim Sung-kyun (Grid) and Jung Moon-sung (The Good Detective 2) to wallow or celebrate together.

The new video teaser begins with the camera following Lee Seo-jin (Han Hye-jin), as she makes her way to Sung-han’s office. As timing would have it, though, she walks in just as a grumpy Jang Hyung-geun (Kim Sung-kyun) is complaining that Seo-jin – his favorite radio DJ – is quitting her show.

In the consultation, Seo-jin discloses that she received a divorce notification and wants to do a good job at divorcing. Sung-han responds carefully, explaining that her situation may not allow for a “good” divorce and, in the sequence, we see glimpses of the complications – including her fame, her child’s resistance, and an abusive husband. Remaining composed, Seo-jin then asks what Sung-han defines as a good divorce.

After contemplating on his own, Sung-han finds Seo-jin waiting for him outside his office. She reveals that there’s only one thing she wants and Sung-han replies, “That’s why we need to win this lawsuit, without fail.” Reassuring her that they are going to win and encouraging her to press forward, the teaser comes to a close on their handshake to start the case.

Directed by PD Lee Jae-hoon (Run-On, Chief Kim) with scripts penned by Yoo Young-ah (Thirty-Nine, Boyfriend), JTBC’s Divorce Attorney Shin will be premiering on March 4, following Agency in the weekend slot.

Cho Seung Woo, Han Hye Jin, Kim Sung Kyun, And Jung Moon Sung Make An Optimistic Team In “Divorce Attorney Shin” Posters

Feb 13, 2023
by S. Cho

“Divorce Attorney Shin” has dropped new character posters!

Based on a popular webtoon, JTBC’s “Divorce Attorney Shin” will tell the story of a talented divorce lawyer punnily named Shin Sung Han (the word “shinsunghan” means “sacred” in Korean).

The new group and individual character posters capture the four main actors’ transformations, as well as their characters’ unique personalities.

Cho Seung Woo stars as Shin Sung Han, a classical pianist who was born to an affluent family. His talent and intelligence land him a teaching position at a German university, but he quickly receives shocking news that causes him to suddenly switch career paths.

Having lost his enjoyment of life, Shin Sung Han begins studying to become a lawyer and eventually starts working as a divorce lawyer. Despite how serious and uptight his job title may sound, Shin Sung Han’s poster shows just how relaxed the character is. His necktie is loosely tied and his hair is freely grown out while he kicks back in his office and shoots a soft smile towards the camera. The poster reads, “Fully armed with lonesome wits.”

Shin Sung Han’s newfound career is how he becomes acquainted with radio DJ Lee Seo Jin (Han Hye Jin), who seeks out his services after getting caught in a heated divorce and custody battle. As she sets out to end her hell-like marriage, Lee Seo Jin looks at peace while handling various documents.

Shin Sung Han’s best friends Jang Hyung Geun and Jo Jung Sik are played by Kim Sung Kyun and Jung Moon Sung. Jang Hyung Geun works closely alongside Shin Sung Han and is the “housekeeper” of his office. While working, Jang Hyung Geun is met with a pleasant surprise when his favorite radio DJ Lee Seo Jin waltzes in as a client. However, Jang Hyung Geun is experiencing an ambiguous breakup of his own, as his poster reads, “Somewhere in between separation and divorce?” leading to questions about how the character truly feels.

The quirky Jo Jung Sik is a fun, single man in his forties who lights up any room with his unrivaled speech. He’s described as someone whose “calling is to open his mouth,” raising anticipation for his funny character.

The group poster features all four characters at Shin Sung Han’s office and showcases their individual auras that oddly suit one another. Although the office appears outdated, the warm sun shining in combined with the characters’ determination reflects the hope that this drama will convey.

Watch: “Divorce Attorney Shin” Introduces Cho Seung Woo, Kim Sung Kyun, And Jung Moon Sung’s Chaotic Friendship In New Teaser

Watch: “Divorce Attorney Shin” Introduces Cho Seung Woo, Kim Sung Kyun, And Jung Moon Sung’s Chaotic Friendship In New Teaser

Cho Seung Woo, Kim Sung Kyun, and Jung Moon Sung are ready to showcase their chemistry in “Divorce Attorney Shin”!

Based on a popular webtoon, JTBC’s “Divorce Attorney Shin” will tell the story of a talented divorce lawyer punnily named Shin Sung Han (the word “shinsunghan” means “sacred” in Korean).

The drama’s latest teaser introduces the hilariously realistic friendship between Shin Sung Han (Cho Seung Woo), Jang Hyung Geun (Kim Sung Kyun), and Jo Jung Sik (Jung Moon Sung), who have been friends since middle school.

First up is Shin Sung Han, a former classical pianist who suddenly switches his career path to divorce law when he receives shocking news. The brazen character describes himself as “a sexy guy who has everything,” but he is really a carefree and clumsy soul.

Fitting for the unique character, both his best friends Jang Hyung Geun and Jo Jung Sik prove to be odd souls too. Jang Hyung Geun works alongside Shin Sung Han at his law office as a manager, but they show their bond goes much deeper than just co-workers with Shin Sung Han nonchalantly pushing Jang Hyung Geun away and throwing things at him.

Shin Sung Han also bickers non-stop with Jo Jung Sik, who ambitiously aims to set up his own real estate office in Shin Sung Han’s building. Despite an argument over rent, the two dramatically make up with tears and a bear hug as Shin Sung Han tells Jo Jung Sik, “Don’t pay rent from now on.” At the end, Jang Hyung Geun remarks that the trio’s visuals aren’t too shabby in their neighborhood.

Get a glimpse of this trio’s wild friendship below!

JTBC's upcoming Saturday and Sunday drama series titled Divorce Attorney Shin is a webtoon-based K-drama about an expert divorce lawyer, the incredibly sensitive Shin Sung Han (Cho Seung Woo) who deals with clients who act wild beyond belief, but finds solace in his two closest friends and fellow “40-year-old youths” Jang Hyung Geun (Kim Sung Kyun) and Jo Jung Shik (Jung Moon Sung).

Cho Seung Woo stated:

"I was attracted to the message and bright yet heavy development of the story of people's lives."

Since Cho Seung Woo has consistently shown impressive acting that makes people think of the names of the characters he performed, it makes people wonder what kind of impression he received from the character Shin Sung Han. Cho Seung Woo introduced the character: "My character Shin Sung Han, is a former classical pianist who suddenly switches his career path to become a divorce lawyer. Shin Sung Han describes himself as 'a sexy guy who has everything,' but he is really a carefree and clumsy soul. "

Cho Seung Woo also mentioned the character's well-to-do life, saying,

"He is a person who grew up freely with great support of a warm family. He started playing the piano because he liked it. And studying abroad was also his own decision, and he must have enjoyed living there."

Cho Seung Woo also mentioned a few of Shin Sung Han's charms which includes him being a good listener, a critical thinker and an intelligent speaker. For the character's selfless side to be seen, Cho Seung Woo must have thought about visuals, tone of voice, gestures, and attitudes.

Cho Seung Woo added,

"Acting is not something I do alone, so I thought of having an ensemble cast and I acted harmoniously with them."

After the filming started, Cho Seung Woo said,

"A rookie lawyer who was at a loss and doesn't know where to go took several cases, he then experienced both winning and losing. As he delved into the lives of people, he could never have imagined their state, sympathized, and solved problems with them, he would definitely become stronger and more mature."

Here, we can take a glimpse Cho Seung Woo's affection for the character Shin Sung Han.

Lastly, when asked what it is if there is something genuinely sacred in "Divorce Attorney Shin," Cho Seung Woo replied with,

"Respect can untangle knots even in a chaotic situation that has misunderstandings and can even save lives depending on the situation one may face," he added.

The transformation of Cho Seung Woo, who will approach with fun and emotion as well as new acting, can be seen in JTBC's new Saturday and Sunday KDrama "Divorce Attorney Shin," which will be broadcasted at 10:30 pm on March 4.

Divorce Attorney Shin makes time for law and bromance

by tccolb

https://d263ao8qih4miy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/NISI20230213_0001195025_web_20230213165843_20230213171805318.jpg

The promos continue for JTBC’s Divorce Attorney Shin with a new batch of posters featuring our main quartet along with a new fun teaser that focuses on the bromantic trio.

The pianist turned lawyer Shin Sung-han – played by Jo Seung-woo (Sisyphus) – has been presented with a tough lawsuit, assisting radio DJ Han Hye-jin (Let’s Hold Hands and Watch the Sunset) with processing her divorce. But having had some life experience under their belts, our characters are hopeful that “this too shall pass” — and our hero’s journey is never lonely with his two friends Kim Sung-kyun (Grid) and Jung Moon-sung (The Good Detective 2) by his side

The video teaser opens with another introduction to our protagonist, who says that he’s, “Shin Sung-han. Attorney Shin Sung-han. Talented at everything and a sexy… guy? Sexy man?” As his name and title are repeated in the captions, we transition to Jang Hyung-geun (Kim Sung-kyun), who is happy to be recruited as Sung-han’s new office manager. But Hyung-geun shows a little too much gratitude and Sung-han advises him to put that devotion into the actual job. The appearing text then lists both their names and titles.

As a half-exasperated Sung-han describes his friends as unsophisticated, dumb, and crazy, we’re taken to see Jo Jung-shik (Jung Moon-sung) who spies his two friends eating dinner without him. Skulking around the area, Jung-shik surmises where Sung-han’s law office will be opening and decides on the spot that he’ll set up a real estate business on the first floor. With that, two become three and the captions extend the list to include “Agent Jo Jung-shik.”

Sung-han looks impressed with Jung-shik’s new setup and personal introduction: “The best real estate office, Jo Jung-shik Real Estate. I am CEO Jo Jung-shik.” But Jung-shik gets distraught, crying in fear about what might happen if he’s unable to pay rent in his own friend’s building. Sung-han reassures Jung-shik with a hug that he doesn’t have to pay rent and Hyung-geun cutely joins the hug as well. The appearing captions read: “Artist-lawyer Shin Sung-han and friends, and their lukewarm friendship.”

In the final sequence, we see our trio bantering and having fun, before closing on the group as they walk down a street together. Hyung-geun notes that Sung-han has the blood of an artist and is considered fairly handsome in their Seocho neighborhood. The teaser then ends on Sung-han’s refute that it’s not just the neighborhood, but the whole Seocho district.

Written by Yoo Young-ah (Thirty-Nine, Boyfriend) with PD Lee Jae-hoon (Run On, Chief Kim) directing, JTBC’s Divorce Attorney Shin is slated to air in two weeks on March 4.

Divorce Attorney Shin' Han Hye-jin "Cho Seung-woo → Kang Mal-geum, there was no reason to hesitate"

In JTBC's new Saturday and Sunday drama 'Shin Sung-han, Divorce' (script Yoo Young-ah/director Lee Jae-hoon), which will be broadcast for the first time on March 4, Han Hye-jin takes on the role of famous radio DJ Lee Seo-jin and embarks on a new acting transformation.

Han Hye-jin described the role of Lee Seo-jin, a former weathercaster and radio DJ in the play, as a 'character like a pretty bird trapped in a cage'. According to her, Lee Seo-jin's character looks lofty and seems to live a life that everyone would envy, but there is something inside that she can't talk about.

She revealed her affectionate gaze, saying, “Nevertheless, the courage to live on seemed to give hope to someone who was hurt.” She also revealed her sincerity towards her character Lee Seo-jin, saying, “It was wonderful and relieved to see her strong courage and maternal love sprouting in her through her good people.”

In fact, Han Hye-jin said that she paid a lot of attention to details in terms of acting in order to express her character Lee Seo-jin as a more realistic person. She said, “She is also a radio DJ, and she is a person who tries to hide her true feelings by pretending to be okay and confident. She expressed her visuals in front of people to look sophisticated and haughty, her attitude was dignified, and her tone of voice was intentionally uplifted.” She explained that she approached the character delicately. She added, “I wish I could feel sorry for Lee Seo-jin and her courage and her hard work and want to hug her.”

JTBC’s upcoming Saturday-Sunday drama “Divorce Attorney Shin” has released a new teaser!

The newly released highlight clip previews lawyer Shin Sung Han (Cho Seung Woo) who draws attention with his extraordinary tone of voice, expression, behavior, and styling. Shin Sung Han’s past story unfolds as he says in a sad voice, “There were so many people who laughed at me when I said I wanted to become a lawyer as someone who used to be a piano player.”

One day, radio DJ Lee Seo Jin (Han Hye Jin), who is at the center of an adultery scandal that stirred up the world, visits him as a new client. Sung Han can easily predict that he is highly likely to lose the case, but for some reason, he is drawn to take on Lee Seo Jin’s request.

Jo Seung-woo is an oddball lawyer in Divorce Attorney Shin

https://d263ao8qih4miy.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/DAS4.jpg

The third teaser for Divorce Attorney Shin has been released, spotlighting our crackhead lead Jo Seung-woo (Sisyphus) and his unconventional life as a lawyer.

The plot revolves around our hero Shin Sung-han (Jo Seung-woo) who used to be a big shot pianist overseas but, in a move akin to a mid-life crisis, is now back in Korea working as a divorce lawyer. His small office is a far cry from his former high-rolling life, but not to worry, his two best friends Kim Sung-kyun (Grid) and Jung Moon-sung (The Good Detective 2) won’t leave his side… because they both moved their offices to work in his building.

But it’s not all play for our lawyer, not when he has the famous radio DJ Lee Seo-jin — played by Han Hye-jin (Let’s Hold Hands and Watch the Sunset) — as his client. She’s wrapped up in a cheating scandal and needs Sung-han to represent her against her abusive husband in the divorce proceedings. If he’s going to protect Seo-jin’s bag from the messiness of the courtroom, Sung-han will need to step up his game.

The teaser opens with Sung-han’s neighbors spotting him and his friends throwing a karaoke drinking party and gossiping amongst themselves, “Isn’t he supposed to be a lawyer?” “It’s because he’s still single.”

Then we see Seo-jin visit Sung-han’s office, saying she came because she heard he specializes in divorce and wants to do a “good job” at divorcing.

We’re then given some voiceover acknowledgement of the absurdity of the situation as Sung-han’s two friends ask themselves, “He’s using his piano brain to practice law? Is that remarkable or dumb?” We also get a shot of Sung-han responding to someone asking him what he’s doing back in Korea. Is he teaching? Performing? “I’m practicing law.”

Granted, the circumstances are highly unusual, but it looks like we can trust Sung-han’s knack for lawyering as he seriously tells someone over the phone, “Let’s take this to trial.”

Written by Yoo Young-ah (Thirty-Nine, Boyfriend) and directed by Lee Jae-hoon (Run-On, Chief Kim), JTBC’s Divorce Attorney Shin will premiere March 4.

Director Lee Jae-hoon of ‘Shin Sung-han, Divorce’ “Webtoon comments are impressive, it will be fun to compare the original work”

Sacred Divorce’ director Lee Jae-hoon said, “It will be interesting to compare it to the original work.”

At the online press conference for JTBC's new Saturday and Sunday drama 'Sacred Divorce' held on the March2nd, director Lee Jae-hoon said, "What impressed me while watching the webtoon were the comments." There were a lot of comments that said, ‘This is it’ and wrote their own stories to the point that they thought it was TMI. I thought it was a work that was so naked and had a powerful story.”

He continued, “Because it is difficult for the comical acceptance that can be seen in the webtoon genre to lead to a drama, the actors themselves are a picture style. There are common characters and new relationships in webtoons, so it will be fun to compare them.”

Including Jo Seung-woo (played by Shin Seong-han), Han Hye-jin (played by Lee Seo-jin), Kim Sung-gyun (played by Jang Hyung-geun), and Jung Moon-seong (played by Jo Jung-sik), who have made a comeback after a long time, are expected to create synergy in acting.

Previously, director Lee Jae-hoon explained that 'Shin Sung-han, Divorce' is closer to a human drama. He said, “It is a pleasant human drama rather than a courtroom drama. The divine sometimes wins and sometimes loses. Clients also divorce or remarry. What I encounter in the process is the smell of a familiar and familiar person.”

Cho Seung-woo, who opened a lawyer with 'Sacred Divorce' equipped with humanity

The impact of Hwang Si-mok's character, shown by Cho Seung-woo in the drama 'Secret Forest', was great. He took on the role of an emotionless brain prosecutor and captivated many viewers. Woo Jang-hoon in the movie 'Inside Men' also left a strong impression with his reckless appearance. Cho Seung-woo, who captivated viewers with his role as a prosecutor twice, returned as a lawyer this time. Especially this time, he was equipped with humanity to the fullest.

Shin Seong-woo, played by Jo Seung-woo, is a person who suddenly prepared for the bar exam after living as a music professor in Germany and learning about 'that job'. Shin Sung, who became a lawyer, stands out in divorce cases and makes his name known as a divorce lawyer.

Except for the fact that Shin Sung entered the legal profession, there are not many overlaps with Hwang Si-mok and Woo Jang-hun. In particular, unlike the other two characters, Shin Sung knows how to express his emotions and has a warm humanity. Cho Seung-woo, who participated in the production presentation held online on the 2nd, said, "I asked the writer for the setting to pour out emotions into music. Because of this, when I was in charge of a lawsuit or a case, I suggested how to approach it as if you were playing music and interpreting sheet music.”

"Shin Sung-han has deep scars. However, inside of him, he has humanity from head to toe and is a warm person who knows how to respect people. It played a big role in choosing the work," he explained.

Divine characters full of humanity also penetrate the message of the entire work. Cho Seung-woo said, "A while ago, I asked the writer, 'What kind of work is our work? He explained that he is a stinky character who focuses on whether he has to be hurt and unravels the process.’ This part touched me a lot.”

Director Lee Jae-hoon also said, "I saw characters like 'Tazza' and 'Secret Forest', but I didn't refer to them. I thought that Seung-Woo Cho suited Shin Sung because he was an actor who could share Shin Sung's cold-heartedness and warmth. I felt that I was more suited to the character.”

In addition, 'Sacred, Divorce' contains the story of friendship between three friends, unlike existing courtroom works.  Shin Sung still maintains friendships with his middle school friends Jang Hyeong-geun (Kim Seong-kyun) and Jo Jung-sik (Jung Moon-seong). The deep friendship, ordinary daily life, and stories of the three close friends will meet with the acting of Cho Seung-woo, Kim Seong-gyun, and Jung Moon-seong to evoke the atmosphere of the play. Regarding his collaboration with Kim Seong-gyun and Jung Moon-seong, Jo Seung-woo said, "We worked well together in every scene. The director honestly seemed to enjoy it too. When the three of us were filming a short scene, he didn't know when to cut and just watched it. To be honest, it was 30 seconds long. I once thought that I could improvise even for 30 minutes if I didn't cut even if I was given the lines of '','' he said, raising expectations.

'Sacred Divorce' is based on a webtoon of the same name. Director Lee Jae-hoon said, “As a person who enjoyed the original work, it is meaningful to direct the work.” “There were a lot of vivid comments in the comments of ‘Sacred Divorce’. I thought it was because of it. We tried to express it in our own drawing style," he emphasized. Cho Seung-woo also emphasized, "I want to apologize to fans of the original work for the change of the sacred character," but also emphasized, "One thing I am confident in is that I will not lose my strength until the end of the work. Please look forward to it until the end."
