Plot

 

Villains” (literal title), the crime series follows the intense and competitive story of villains and their encounter with incredibly precise counterfeit bills called “Super Note.”

Character description

 

"J" (Yoo Ji Tae) is a genius architect of crime who is known with the code name. He’s known as a sociopath with a perfect crime rate who believes his crimes are a work of art.

 

Han Soo Hyun (Lee Min Jung) is the best artist of counterfeit bills. While living a hopeless life, Han Soo Hyun encounters a producer of counterfeit bills and learns the ropes to become the best in the business. Five years prior, her life fell apart because of a project designed by J, so when he suddenly reappears in her life, she dives into a whirlwind of greed in order to get revenge.

 

 

Jang Joong Hyuk (Kwak Do Won) is a detective but the final boss of all evil who steals money from thieves without shedding a tear or a drop of a blood. With no prestigious education and no connections, Jang Joong Hyuk is forced to face reality very early in his life. As he becomes obsessed with money, he intervenes in various fields and ends up as a corrupt detective. From his perspective, wrongdoings eventually turn into money and promotions, which he thinks justifies his criminal behaviour.

 

Cha Gi Tae (Lee Beom Soo) is the former head of the National Intelligence Service Financial Crimes Team. While on the hunt for J, who caused trouble in his life, the various characters entangled in the incident from five years ago begin to resurface, resuming his relentless pursuit.

Lee Seung Gi may be returning with his next small screen project!

On October 18, SPOTV News reported that Lee Seung Gi had been cast in the upcoming drama “Supernote.” Following the report, Hook Entertainment clarified to media outlet Star Today, “‘Supernote’ is one of the projects he is reviewing.”

“Supernote,” subtitled “The Heyday of the Villains,” is a hero drama about supernotes, which refer to very high quality counterfeit bills.

“Supernote” will be produced by Taewon Entertainment, and its broadcasting channel and schedule have not been decided yet. Earlier, Kwak Do Won’s agency confirmed that the actor is in talks for the drama, and it was reported that Lee Beom Soo had been cast in it as well.

Meanwhile, Lee Seung Gi is currently appearing on the SBS variety show “Master in the House.” He will also be starring in the upcoming Netflix variety program “New World” starting November 20.

Lee Min Jung may be starring in a new drama soon!

On May 19, OSEN reported that Lee Min Jung will be starring in “The Golden Age of Villains” (literal title).

In response to the report, a source from MSteam Entertainment shared, “Lee Min Jung has received an offer to star in ‘The Golden Age of Villains,’ and she is reviewing the offer.” If she accepts, this will be her first drama in two years since she starred in the popular weekend drama “Once Again.”

Lee Min Jung previously starred in numerous hit projects including “Boys Over Flower,” “All About My Romance,” “Come Back Alive,” “Fates and Furies,” and more.

“The Golden Age of Villains” depicts the battle and story of two villains who are famous for being cruel, and Kwak Do Won and Yoo Ji Tae are reportedly also in talks for the drama. It is currently in discussion to air via an OTT (over the top) platform. The drama will be helmed by producing director Jin Hyuk of “Sisyphus: The Myth,” “Legend of the Blue Sea,” “Doctor Stranger,” “Master’s Sun,” “The Chaser,” and “City Hunter.”

In May, it was reported that Lee Min Jung, Yoo Ji Tae, and Kwak Do Won were in discussions to appear in TVING’s original series “The Golden Age of Villains” (literal title).

Yoo Ji Tae, Kwak Do Won, Lee Bum Soo, and Lee Min Jung will be the leads of the upcoming TVING original series "The Golden Age of Villains."

On June 10th it was officially confirmed that Yoo Ji Tae, Kwak Do Won, Lee Bum Soo, and Lee Min Jung  will be the main leads of the upcoming TVING drama "The Golden Age of Villains."  The drama will premiere in 2023. 

"The Golden Age of Villains" is a crime drama that will tell the story of the clash and confrontation of villains over counterfeit money. 

The series will be directed by Jin Hyeok ("Sisyphus: The Myth" and "The Legend of the Blue Sea") and written by Kim Hyung Joon ("The Scent "). Taewoon Entertainment will produce the upcoming series. 

Yoo Ji Tae will play the role of "J," the crime designer with a genius brain. He has a 100% winning rate. 

Kwak Do Won will play the role of Jang Joong Hyuk, the detective in the series. His goal is to steal money from the thieves and he doesn't plan on giving them any lenient. He is a corrupt detective. 

Lee Bum Soo will play the role of Cha Ki Tae, the former head of the NIS's financial crime team. 

The upcoming series is slated to air next year.

This will be one of the upcoming projects of Yoo Ji Tae. He will begin the year by starring in the Netflix original series "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area" with Kim Yoon Jin, Park Hae Soo, Jeon Jong Seo, Lee Won Jong, Kim Ji Hoon, and more. He will also lead the upcoming drama "Vigilante." 

 

Kwak Do Won started the year with the drama "Never Give Up" with Highlight's Yoon Doo Joon, Han Go Eun, Jung Dong Won, Park Won Sook, and Kim Young Woong. He will also join the upcoming movie "Firemen."

Kim Jae Yong will reportedly  be part of the upcoming TVING original series "Villains."

On June 29th media outlet JoyNews24 reported that Kim Jae Yong will be joining the cast of the upcoming TVING original series "Villains." He will be joining the main leads Yoo Ji Tae, Kwak Do Won, Lee Bum Soo, Lee Min Jung, and I.L

"Villains" is an original series from TVING. It will tell the bloody confrontations of villains over ultra-precise counterfeit supernotes. 

The series will be directed by  Jin Hyeok ("Sisyphus: The Myth," "The Legend of the Blue Sea," and "The Master's Sun") and written by Kim Hyung Joon ("Daddy Long Legs" and "The Scent.") The series will be produced by Taewon Entertainment. 

There are no details yet on the possible character of Kim Jae Yong.

TVING has released several original dramas such as "Yumi's Cells," "Happiness," "Work Later, Drink Now," and more. "Villains" will be one of their entries for next year.

"Villains" will reportedly premiere in 2023.

In 2022, Kim Jae Yong starred in the drama "Ghost Doctor" with Rain, Kim Bum, After School's Uee, APINK's Son Na Eun, Sung Dong Il, and Tae In Ho. He also made a special appearance in the film "Piggy Back." 

Kim Jae Yong first made his debut as a member of the K-Pop boy group HALO. They debuted in 2014. All the members including Kim Jae Yong did not renew their contract with HALO's agency in 2019. The group has been on hiatus since 2018.

He made his acting debut in 2015. He has starred in the dramas "Miracle That We Met," "My First First Love," "Love with Flaws," "Midnight Thriller," and more. 

Kim Jae Yong is currently active as an actor and he is currently signed under Triple Entertainment.
