tvN’s upcoming Monday-Tuesday drama “Family” has unveiled a new teaser!

 

“Family” tells the story of a National Intelligence Service (NIS) black agent husband who is undercover as an ordinary office worker and a sweet but fierce wife who dreams of having a perfect family. The drama is helmed by executive producer Jang Jung Do, whose hit works include “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” “The Crowned Clown,”

 

“Our Blues,” “Alchemy of Souls,” and more. “Family” also marks the fourth project led by Jang Hyuk and Jang Nara as well as their first collaboration in nine years.

Jang Hyuk will be starring as Kwon Do Hoon, Kang Yu Ra’s husband who is an NIS black agent disguised as a trading company employee. Despite being a charismatic and slightly intimidating agent, Kwon Do Hoon is a loving and romantic husband at home. Jang Nara will be playing Kang Yu Ra, a housekeeping expert and Kwon Do Hoon’s wife. While she’s a dedicated wife who works to protect the perfect family of her dreams, she hides a secret behind her lovable nature.

 

The newly released teaser begins with NIS agent “codename 404” Kwon Do Hoon charismatically carrying out a mission, raising tension with fierce fighting and action inside a bus.

 

However, the atmosphere quickly changes with the introduction of Kwon Do Hoon’s wife Kang Yu Ra. Even as Kwon Do Hoon unexpectedly clings on to Kang Yu Ra’s moving car door, Kang Yu Ra continues to drive on nonchalantly.

 

The teaser also depicts Kwon Do Hoon and Kang Yu Ra’s family members including Kwon Woong Soo (Lee Soon Jae), who impressively does turns on a metal bar despite getting on the years, Kwon Min Seo (Shin Soo Ah), who is acting energetically as always, and couple Kwon Ji Hoon (Kim Kang Min) and Lee Mi Rim (Yoon Sang Jung).

 

The text, “Our family’s story, which is more secretive and more intense than a secret agent,” appears on screen as Kwon Do Hoon narrates, “This is the power of family,” further raising anticipation for the family’s intriguing double life.

tvN released the second teaser of the upcoming espionage comedy K-drama Family. 

The trailer shows the double life Kwon Do Hoon (Jang Hyuk) leads in the drama. Everyone believes him to be an ordinary office worker when, in reality, he is a secret agent working for NIS. 

At the beginning of the trailer, Do Hoon is seen loading a gun and fighting people as a part of his mission assigned to him by NIS. Then the scene shifts to portray him trying to get on top of a car, not to chase a criminal but to follow his wife who seems upset with him. 

 

Kang Yoo Ra, played by Jang Na Ra, is portrayed as a sweet and cruel wife with a dynamic personality. Yoo Ra only dreamed of an ideal family all her life, and after marrying Do Hoon her perfect life was complete. In the eyes of the world, she is a simple housemaker who tries to protect her family but, just like Do Hoon, she too hides a secret only she knows about. 

The drama also casts the Suits actress Chae Jung An in the role of Oh Cheon Ryun - a NIS operative and Do Hoon's senior - and Kim Nam Hee, who played the titular role of Jin Sung Joon in Reborn Rich. Kim Nam Hee will be seen as Tae Goo, a mysterious uninvited guest to the families of Do Hoon. The rest of the supporting cast play the roles of family members of Do Hoon and Yoo Ra. Lee Soon Jae is Do Hoon's father Kwon Woong Soo, Kim Kang Min is his younger brother Kwon Ji Hoon, and Yoon Sang Jung is Kwon Ji Hoon's wife Lee Mi Rim.

Actor Jang Hyuk of tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Family' has fans anticipating the return of his comedic acting.

 

'Family' is a thrilling family shooter espionage comedy about a NIS black agent husband who disguises himself as an ordinary office worker and a sweet wife who dreams of a perfect family. 

 

On March 21 KST, tvN released the first on-set photos of Jang Hyuk's shocking new appearance. In the photos, Jang Hyuk steals attention with bare eyebrows reminiscent of the Mona Lisa. The shocking visuals where his eyebrows seem to have disappeared without a trace and his deadpan expression evoked laughter and stimulated curiosity about what happened to him.

 

Additional photos showed Jang Hyuk shirtless while carrying his on-screen daughter, and another where he's shown doing couples yoga with Jang Na Ra.

tvN released new still cuts from the upcoming K-drama Family featuring Jang Hyuk in the role of Kwon Do Hoon. 

The first cut hilariously shows him with his eyebrows shaved and a lost expression on his face. It probably indicates that it's one of the mischievous acts of his daughter. In another cut, he is seen holding her while wearing only shorts. And the last still cut shows him doing yoga with his wife Kang Yoo Ra (Jang Na Ra), putting all his efforts to satisfy her. He might have never failed to take down a criminal, but the only ones who can take him down are his family members.

On the 22nd, tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'Family' (Screenwriter Jeong Yoo-seon/Director Jang Jeong-do, Lee Jung-mook) released the main poster featuring Jang Hyuk's risky double life, Jang Nara, and Chae Jung-an.

'Family' is a thrilling family shooter espionage comedy about a NIS black agent husband who disguises himself as an ordinary office worker and a sweet and bloody wife who dreams of a perfect family.

 

In the play, Jang Hyuk is a one-shot, one-kill NIS black agent who disguises his identity as a trade manager outside the house, but inside the house, he plays the role of Kwon Do-hoon, a husband who is at the bottom of the hierarchy. Jang Nara took on the role of Kang Yoo-ra, a housewife in the 9th grade. Along with this, Chae Jeong-an will break down into Kwon Do-hoon's shooter, Oh Cheon-ryeon, a professional NIS officer, and show off her girl crush charm, while also presenting a shooter chemistry with Jang Hyuk.

 

The poster released on this day contains the double life of Kwon Do-hoon, who is on and off inside and outside the house. Outside the house, he wears an all-black suit, loads a pistol, and exudes sharp charisma, creating tension. On the other hand, inside the house, wearing a cute apron, holding a shopping cart and going into crumpled mode, the perfect contrast creates laughter. As a result, interest in the risky double life and activity of Kwon Do-hoon, who goes back and forth between the black agent of One-Shot One-Kill and the jjuguri husband, is amplified.

Jang Na Ra plays the character of Kwon Do Hoon's (Jang Hyuk) wife Kang Yoo Ra. Though she may seem like an ordinary housewife from the outside, she harbours a secret only she knows about. 

The first still cut shows a simple and sweet side of Yoo Ra. She is seen with a bright smile on her face, which gives her a kind disposition. 

 

The second still cut shows her with her husband, Do Hoon, in which the duo seems to be in the middle of an argument, and Yoo Ra clearly seems displeased with him. It indicates that we can expect some hilarious bickering between the husband and wife in the drama.

Jang Hyuk on working with Jang Na Ra in "Family: The Unbreakable Bond"

tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama Family: The Unbreakable Bond is an espionage comedy about a husband working as a NIS agent under the disguise of an ordinary office worker and a sweet and cruel wife who dreams of a perfect family.

When asked why he chose Family: The Unbreakable Bond, Jang Hyuk said, "More than anything else, the genre appealed to me".

 

 

Family: The Unbreakable Bond marks the fourth collaborative work of the Jang Hyuk Jang Nara. Their other K-dramas include Whenever they meet, such as Successful Story of a Bright Girl, Fated to Love You, and the 2014 MBC Drama Festival Old Goodbye. 

When asked about how it feels to be reunited with Jang Na Ra, Jang Hyuk said, "I have been working well with Jang Nara since the Successful Story of a Bright Girl. I think each of our characters is well-matched and balanced," he said. "This romantic comedy properly balances comedy while going in-depth into the story. Since Jang Nara is good at delivering realistic performances, she makes room for me to naturally immerse in".  

 

 

He further added, "When I act with Jang Na Ra, I don't think 'what will she do in this part and how I should adjust'. We are acting naturally with trust in each other’s ability, so we sync well like a perfect couple".

When asked about his character Jang Hyuk said, "Kwon Do Hoon lives a double life and has secrets, but he has the joys and sorrows of wanting to protect his family".

 

 

 

He continued, "Through Kwon Do Hoon, when I'm acting as a husband at home, I think I did a lot of fun acting which is unique to the rom-com genre. On the other hand, outside the house, as a black agent, I wanted to show a dry and cold side, so I wanted to focus on expressing the contrast that comes from leading a double life".

When talking about working with Lee Soon Jae, Kim Kang Min, Yoon Sang Jung, and Shin Soo Ah - who appear as the family members of Kwon Do Hoon and Kang Yoo Ra in the K-drama - Jang Hyuk said, "I think the balance everyone creates together is good. I think this family's eccentricity and fresh appearances are portrayed in a very fun way". 

He also mentioned Chae Jung An and Kim Nam Hee. He said, “I met and worked with Chae Jung An for the first time in this drama, and she seems to express the charm of her cool character well. He continued, “I think Kim Nam Hee is not only good at acting but is also an actor with a good personality and charm".  

Lastly, Jang Hyuk said, “Family: The Unbreakable Bond combines comedy, action, and drama. Please look forward to it for a fresh and unique genre".
