Chingus, there are always characters never fail to make us hate them (thanks to good script writing and the performance by the actor/actress). These characters may not necessarily be evil, they may even have some reason for doing what they are doing, but still make us hate them or annoy us to the point of hating them. You might hate them because of their actions, their decisions or just simply because of their existence

 

These characters may also not even be among the leads, or the main baddie, they could just be a side character who would leave an impression on you to the point that you hate them.

I'm familiar with the listed Last Empress villains.  But I thought there'll be more choices for Empress Ki. 

 

Hmm, IMO, the rival consort in Mr Queen isn't so villainy, compared to the Empress Dowager, the DIL who was obsessed with curses and hexes, and the brother of the Empress Dowager.

Hi and thanks for tagging me. I'm unfortunately nor very familiar with most of the mentioned dramas. Those from Scarlet Heart I suppose are more smbd who are victims of circumstances and brutal times they live in. 

The real great villain I just recently happened to meet is definitely Lee Geung-young from currently airing Again My Life. Corrupt and brutal politician, who intervenes in people's lifes and they get very deep unto his "spider web", to the point there is no return for those people. The actor is doing an amazing job.

The Dr and Wife Killer in Happiness was my top ‘I hate youuuuuu’ villain. He was totally psycho but because of his status and wealth, he got away with so much but he gets my vote as one of the most evil, irritating, villain! Having said all that - having such strong villains made Happiness a great drama; best zombie Kdrama after Kingdom (where I am reminded how some people are truly scarier than zombies).

 

I voted on some others from my members of older dramas aka Lady Choi heheh

I don't have problems with this list. My first kdrama was Winter Sonata and I disliked the SFL  but she was hopelessly enamoured by the ML. It was unrequited feelings which I can emphathise  but I didn't hate her.
My first most hated character was Lady Choi in DJG. She was ever so nasty, devious and vengeful. Unfortunately they killed her off without paying for all her evil deeds. 

The others after her were annoying and actively disliked. However in the last few years, the antagonists are just so hateful.  I am watching Love Twist and the character Kang Yoon Ah is so hateful, many posters, me included, all wish the worst for her. She has no sense of wrongdoing. Quite amoral. She's not in the list. 
Two other characters that I totally detest are the cheating husband and his mistress in VIP. The writer was obviously  trying to show the other side of cheating, humanise them. Not a chance. Stone them. There are others in the list, I am going to happily tick them. I wish that I had watched more of the shows.

I go for Jang Joon Woo from Vincenzo. I still have this scene with crows in front of my eyes, when I think about him. If comparing to some other villains, his actions wasn't that much different, still cruel and violent, but probably not the worst, yet his ending was something I didn't see often in dramas. I definitely was curious about him and I think he was well-written and acted, so the frustration and fear at times comes from the exploration of human nature (well, villainy in villains blood) rather than things outside of the drama's reality (bad script, or acting, or both). And because I honestly followed his storyline, not just checked him as a typical villain and left it like it (Jang Joon Woo wasn't boring as a typical villain, I think).

 

I recognize some of the other characters as irritating or bad-written, or simply stereotypical villains without much character (just the obstacle for a main characters in human skin), but not enough to like them as a whole. 

 

Also, I've heard of most of those titles, but I hardly saw them... Start wondering if I'm soo picky (after some time you start recognizing if the drama is interesting for yourself enough after the first episode) or the dramas' "drop-ablity" rise those days? Or it's simply my reluctance to investing time in romances...

Chingu the main reason there are lesser villains from those dramas is because I believed they were evil, and with being evil hate comes hand in hand, but were they so hateful that you would remember them as your favorite "hateful" character 

 

As for Empress Ki, for me, no one comes near to "Cockroach Yeom Byeong Soo" in terms of hateful characters 

 

I can add character from the dramas you mentioned here, since other Chingus might also have suggestions, so tell me which character I need to add and I will add it

I do agree on Lee Geun Young, he is pretty smart evil actually, which I actually like to see in dramas. We couldn't add him in the poll since we are not including the characters from on-going dramas. Surely he will feature in the next "Love to hate" polls

Most of the characters in Scarlet Heart were actually victims of circumstances, and they didn't have any other option than to try to survive in the political struggle which come once the King (the princes' father) would die.

 

But then again that dude "Wang Yo" was should to be not only evil, but pretty cruel and annoying since the start. And he remained that way till the very end. Same goes with his mom "Queen Yoo" who not only evil, but pretty hateful for all the things she did and plotted throughout the drama

That actor always gets such roles. He was annoying villain in Happiness, he was the same in "Devil Judge"

Its definitely - (though my heart aches choosing one)

 

Nam Gyu Man from remember war of son 

- Since he is the first character that i hated the most in my mid  kdrama days (earlier ones are already in the list)

 

HE DESERVES THE MOST TO BE THERE.

Well, Jang Joon Woo actually got that ending mainly because he messed up with a villain on a totally different level than him. Vincenzo was the bigger villain, and had been patient planning this revenge on him. 

 

He surely was an interesting villain, both he and Choi Myung Hee. They are in the list because of the hate they got for the stuff they did in the drama, and also the fact that they would never learn a lesson and still continue to go after Vincenzo despite getting constant threatening warnings from him in return.

The second one is Choi Sung-jae from A place in the sun, despite being a  villain, I liked him very much

in this list, I only voted for two characters; the evil MIL in 'lie after lie' and the evil CEO in 'graceful family' -- both of them gave me the creeps and it was hard to understand the reasoning. villains can be super interesting but there are few I love to hate. one not on the list was this one -- 

 

 

the emperor in last empress got some weird white washing in the end -- unclear if he was mentally ill, not right in his head or some strange alien. maybe I just dislike him because he never really got his desserts and the hero was randomly written off. face palm.

I don't know if I've ever hated a character as much as the doctor in Happiness. Even the bad guy in I Hear Your Voice--he was always bad but you understood him by the end. But this doctor makes me want to set my hair on fire every time I see him. 

 

The actor has a fun sense of humor, though. He knows he plays these baddies and he can laugh about it.

A lot of the mentioned characters are, for me personally, annoying and not hateable. For some "evil" characters, I was still able to sympathise, or at least the writer portrayed them in a... well I wouldn't say better light, but their motivations were sort of... reasonable ? Those are possibly wrong words, but for now I can't find the correct ones.

 

E.g. like someone mentioned, the people in Scarlet Heart - a lot of their actions were based on the conditions of past times.

 

Anyway,

most hateable for me:

 

In fact, it bothered me a lot, his "reasons" for why he did the things he did - excuses. and moreover, he then wanted to be pitied, even though his actions were to blame. I really wanted him to be caught!

 

Then, tied 2nd place:

 

Wife killer & wannabe house rep from Happiness - both despicable each in their own way. In situations, where it's vital to work together for survival, they were motivated by their own greed. And they both didn't really get any consequences, as far as I remember...

 

But... I am also greatly annoyed by all characters in LOVE FEAT. MARRIAGE & DIVORCE drama. Perhaps it's less the characters' fault, but the writer's for writing nonsensical rants between robots that are "disguised" as conversation between humans. Nobody freaking talks like that, seriously!
