Slated to air in the fall after ‘Today’s Webtoon’, we have our first look at Namgoong Min as Cheon Ji Hoon from the upcoming drama ‘One Dollar Lawyer’! The legal drama is set to follow Namgoong Min as a particularly cost-effective lawyer, who only charges a fee of 1,000 South Korean Won (approximately 60 Indian Rupees). 

Despite his proven skills, Cheon Ji Hoon sides with those in need, unafraid of standing up against those who abuse and manipulate the system with the help of their power and money. The new stills offer a look at Cheon Ji Hoon’s different quirks. Although fashionably dressed with permed hair and a true force to be reckoned with, the character teases a comical side with his expressions and mannerisms.

 

‘One Dollar Lawyer’ will also star Kim Ji Eun, Choi Dae Hoon, Lee Deok Hwa, Park Jin Woo, and Gong Min Jung. Joining Namgoong Min’s character Cheon Ji Hoon, Kim Ji Eun takes on the role of Baek Ma Ri. From a “royal family” in judicial circles, she is in the last leg of her training to become a prosecutor. Meanwhile, Choi Dae Hoon stars as Seo Min Hyuk, who dreams of marrying Baek Ma Ri. Also a prosecutor from a “royal” judicial family, he returns to South Korea after two years spent in training in Brooklyn.

Actor Namgoong-min was deeply moved by Jang Young-nam's gift.

 

 

Namgoong-min posted one of his videos to his own Instagram story on August 19th. In the video, there is a banner that reads, “I wish actor Namgoong-min and all actors and staff a successful filming.”

 

This appears to have been a gift from Jang Young-nam to Namgoong-min. Namgoong-min added a lot of her heart emoticons along with the message “I love you, senior” to add warmth.

“One Dollar Lawyer” is a new drama starring Namgoong Min as Cheon Ji Hoon, a lawyer who only charges an attorney’s fee of 1,000 won (approximately $0.75) despite his renowned skills. A hero who comes to the rescue of clients without money or connections, Cheon Ji Hoon isn’t afraid of facing off against the rich and powerful who use expensive lawyers to escape the law.

In a newly released teaser for the upcoming drama, Cheon Ji Hoon makes a dramatic entrance in a flashy suit and sunglasses, even though it’s nighttime. The lawyer then bravely crawls to the top of a bridge, seemingly unfazed by danger, in order to save the life of a man contemplating suicide.

Offering his services, Cheon Ji Hoon says, “I came because I heard that you were going through such a hard time that you felt like dying.” His prospective client asks in surprise, “Is it true that your fee is only…” and Cheon Ji Hoon interjects, “That’s right. It’s 1,000 won.”

"One Dollar Lawyer" will officially premiere next month!

On August 23rd, SBS released a new trailer confirming the premiere date of "One Dollar Lawyer." The upcoming series will air its first episode on September 23rd at 10 PM KST. 

"One Dollar Lawyer" will revolve around a great lawyer whose professional fee costs only a thousand Korean won. He is one of the most skilled lawyers in the country and he usually battles against expensive lawyers and rich clients who are breaking the law. 

The series will be led by  Namkoong Min, Kim Ji Eun, Lee Chung Ah, Choi Dae Hoon, Lee Deok Hwa, Park Jin Woo, and more. 

The drama will be the collaboration of director Kim Jae Hyun and writers Choi Soo Jin and Choi Chang Hwan ("Heart Surgeons" and "Defendant"). The drama will be produced by Studio S. 

In the released teaser, Namkoong Min's character shows off his aura. He is seen climbing up an extremely high bridge and trying to help a person who's already at the top of the bridge and on the verge to give in to an extreme choice. He also confirmed that his professional fee as a lawyer is only a thousand Korean won. 

"One Dollar Lawyer" will be part of the Friday and Saturday timeslot of SBS. The drama will have a total of 16 episodes.

A hero who comes to the rescue of clients without money or connections, Cheon Ji Hoon isn’t afraid of facing off against the rich and powerful who use expensive lawyers to escape the law.

 

In the video, Cheon Ji Hoon makes a dramatic entrance in a flashy suit and sunglasses, and his ears prick at the sound of people venting about their unfair situations. One woman says, “I’m really not the culprit,” and another woman mourns, “No one believes me.” At the sound of a man asking for help, Cheon Ji Hoon is dispatched to the scene as he states, “I came because I heard that you were going through such a hard time that you felt like dying.” What’s even more shocking is that his fee is only 1,000 won.
