“Blind” Previews Intriguing Ties Between Jung Eun Ji, Taecyeon, Ha Seok Jin, And More With Relationship Chart

The production team of “Blind” has revealed a character relationship chart!

tvN’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Blind” is a mystery thriller that depicts the story of people who have unfairly become victims because they are ordinary and perpetrators who have closed their eyes to the uncomfortable truths. The story centers around detectives, judges, law school students, and jurors.

The relationship chart allows viewers to see at a glance the intertwined relationships of the characters involved in the mysterious serial murder of a jury, stimulating the viewers’ curiosity.

In the chart, from top left to right are the two brothers, Ryu Sung Joon (2PM’s Taecyeon) and Ryu Sung Hoon (Ha Seok Jin), and Jo Eun Ki (Apink’s Jung Eun Ji), who is one of the nine jurors. Detective Ryu Sung Joon and judge Ryu Sung Hoon, who are the sons of Supreme Court justice Ryu Il Ho (Choi Hong Il) and Minister of Welfare nominee Na Gook Hee (Jo Kyung Sook), are on a hunt for the unknown serial killer of the so-called “Joker’s Murder Case” who leaves a brutal signature mark at each crime scene.

Overly motivated and passionate, detective Ryu Sung Joon always makes his older brother Ryu Sung Hoon concerned. The previously released teaser captures the two brothers not being able to trust each other. Anticipation is high for whether these brothers can overcome their distrust and find the culprit.

The chart also depicts the family relationship of Jo Eun Ki, a social worker and juror who is pursuing the truth of the murder case along with Ryu Sung Joon and Ryu Sung Hoon. Growing up with her mother Jo In Sook (Jo Yeon Hee), who took on the responsibility of her family’s livelihood on her own, Jo Eun Ki went through many hurdles in life and became blunt about things. Even when her life is at risk, Jo Eun Ki remains calm. Viewers are curious to find out whether Jo Eun Ki can survive from the unidentified killer who is targeting the jury.

From top left to right are Kang Young Ki (Kim Ha Kyun), who retired as managing director at a large firm, Bae Chul Ho (Jo Seung Yeon), a producing director of educational programs, Kwon Kyung Ja (Choi Ji Yeon), a famous fortune teller in Eungam neighborhood, and Yeom Hye Jin (Baek Seung Hee), a famous influencer known as “Cocomom.” On the bottom left to right are Choi Soon Gil (Choi Jae Sup), a taxi driver, Ahn Tae Ho (Chae Dong Hyun), a CEO of an architecture company, Charles (Oh Seung Yun), a Japanese restaurant chef, and Jung In Sung (Park Ji Bin), a computer security company assistant. The jurors have strong personalities and diverse professions, adding more anticipation to the drama.

While it is unknown who will become the serial killer’s first target among the nine jurors including Jo Eun Ki, detective Ryu Sung Joon and his colleagues are desperate to catch the real culprit. Under the direction of police chief Yeom Ki Nam (Jung In Ki) and team leader Oh Yeong Guk (Jung Eui Wook), the team members of the fourth branch of the violent crime division at Muyeong Police Station including Ryu Sung Joon will do their best to track down the criminal to prevent further casualties.

On the bottom are Jung Man Choon (Jeon Jin Woo), who is pinned as the prime suspect in Joker’s murder case, In Sung’s mother (Oh Min Ae), who is looking for her missing son, and Kwon Yu Na (Kang Na Eon), a wandering youth. “Blind” has dropped ominous special teasers!

tvN’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Blind” is a mystery thriller that depicts the story of people who have unfairly become victims because they are ordinary and perpetrators who have closed their eyes to the uncomfortable truths. The story centers around detectives, judges, law school students, and jurors.

2PM’s Taecyeon plays Ryu Sung Joon, a violent crimes detective who is hell bent on catching criminals. Ha Seok Jin takes on the role of Ryu Sung Joon’s older brother Ryu Sung Hoon who is also a perfectionist judge. Apink’s Jung Eun Ji stars as the social worker Jo Eun Ki who is one of the jurors for a murder trial.

The special poster features all three characters alongside the remaining eight jurors. While detective Ryu Sung Joon searches for the serial killer and judge Ryu Sung Hoon gets appointed to the “Joker’s Murder Case,” the two brothers and the nine jurors suddenly become targets of the killer.

The individual photos on the poster take on a mugshot concept with each character’s name and age. This set up initially makes them all look like potential suspects, but could also be a “target profile” created by the serial killer to get an organized look at his targets.

In between the photos read, “Why were these people invited to the murder trial?” As the jurors are just regular people, the reason why they’ve become targets is unclear.

In a newly released highlight teaser, it is revealed that there is a monster among the jurors, raising many questions about who could be the true culprit. After the initial murder trial is when the case heats up as the jurors find themselves in danger. The hunt for the killer intensifies and Ryu Sung Joon finds himself being cornered as the criminal.

Jo Eun Ki comments, “‘I’m not the criminal. Please believe me.’ [Those words] sounded real for some reason.” On the other hand, Ryu Sung Hoon firmly states, “[I will try] to personally catch the culprit who ruined this trial, even if that culprit is you.”

By the end, Jo Eun Ki remarks in horror, “You’re a monster.” Catch the full teaser below and stay tuned to find out who the serial killer monster is and who they will target first.

The production team shared, “There will be fun in trying to guess what connection these randomly selected jurors have with the murder trial as well as their relationships to one another. As the case moves forward, the connections between the jurors as they get tangled with each other will intensify the tension.”

“Blind” premieres on September 16 at 10:40 p.m. KST.

Ha Suk-jin suspects Taecyeon in new teasers for tvN’s Blind

by solstices

tvN’s upcoming crime mystery Blind has released more promotional material, and it looks like the drama is shaping up to be an intense thriller that will have you holding your breath.

Ok Taecyeon (Secret Royal Inspector and Joy) stars as the tenacious detective Ryu Sung-joon, who throws himself into cases with reckless abandon. In contrast, Ha Suk-jin (A DeadbEAT’s Meal) plays his older brother Ryu Sung-hoon, who is a level-headed and principled judge.

Jung Eun-ji (Work Later, Drink Now) rounds out our main trio in the role of Jo Eun-ki. Her difficult childhood led her to become a social worker, so that she can help kids who are struggling just like she used to.

The mystery begins when the corpse of a high school student is discovered. A suspect is apprehended and brought to court, where he requests for a trial by jury. However, after the case concludes, the jurors get murdered one by one — who is killing them, and why?

The drama’s character teaser gives us our first glimpse of the presumed true killer, whose face has been disfigured into a perpetual smile. It looks like the killer exacts the same mutilation they suffered upon their victims, forming their grotesque signature. A corpse lies on an autopsy table with a smile carved into her face and bruises around her ankles.

Sung-hoon vows to catch the culprit who turned his trial into a mess, even if that person could be his younger brother. In response, Sung-joon protests that it’s all a misunderstanding, and we see flashes of multiple tussles along with a gunshot. Juror Eun-ki testifies that the defendant sounded genuine when he pleaded innocence, and she’s inclined to believe him.

However, our protagonists’ pursuit of the elusive murderer will lead them into dangerous situations — we see a bloody Sung-joon, and a bound Eun-ki. Still, that won’t stop our protagonists from striving to uncover the truth.

Next, in the drama’s main teaser, Sung-joon warns that the “crazy dogs” are coming. Two hounds run through the woods, though it’s not clear who they’re chasing. A cynical Sung-hoon declares that he doesn’t trust anybody, not even his younger brother. His suspicions aren’t entirely unfounded; we see Sung-joon holding a scalpel up to the forensic examiner’s face, as if to figure out how the killer did it.

In the killer’s lair, photos of the nine jurors are accompanied by creepy mannequins below. Sung-joon rushes into an apartment to save someone dangling from the rafters, with Eun-ki following close behind — except it turns out to be a mannequin. Eun-ki promises to help in whatever way she can, and Sung-joon swears that he’ll punish the perpetrator of these heinous crimes.

Directed by Shin Yong-hwi (Voice 4, Tunnel) and written by Kwon Ki-gyung (Andante), Blind airs on Friday and Saturday nights starting September 16.

2PM’s Taecyeon Discusses The Charms Of Upcoming Drama “Blind,” His Character’s Personality, And More

Sep 3, 2022
by L. Kim

2PM’s Taecyeon shared his thoughts about his new tvN series “Blind”!

“Blind” is a mystery thriller that depicts the story of people who have unfairly become victims because they are ordinary and perpetrators who have closed their eyes to the uncomfortable truths. The story centers around detectives, judges, law school students, and jurors.

Taecyeon plays Ryu Sung Joon, a violent crimes detective who is hell bent on catching criminals. Ha Seok Jin takes on the role of Ryu Sung Joon’s older brother Ryu Sung Hoon who is also a perfectionist judge. Apink‘s Jung Eun Ji stars as the social worker Jo Eun Ki who is one of the jurors for a murder trial.

Taecyeon shared that he was attracted to Ryu Sung Joon the moment he read the script, saying, “I’ve always liked mystery and thriller genres, and the tangled relationships of the characters in ‘Blind’ and the strange psychological warfare where they doubted each other were so attractive.”

Taecyeon-1.jpeg

Concerning the first impression of Ryu Sung Joon, Taecyeon remarked, “I was more interested in him because he was an extraordinary hot-blooded detective.” In particular, he was drawn to the fact that, although Ryu Sung Joon was born as the second son of a well-to-do family, he doesn’t really get along with them and instead chases after criminal cases without any hesitation.

Taecyeon also expressed his pity towards Ryu Sung Joon, who faced many hardships and obstacles while hunting down the truth of the mystery case involving jurors. He explained, “Ryu Sung Joon’s biggest charm is that he tries not to lose his righteousness until the end with a strong will to catch the real criminal even though he continuously fights alone without being able to rely on anyone.”

Taecyeon-2.jpeg

Taecyeon talked about what he’s focusing on in order to better portray Ryu Sung Joon. He explained, “I thought the most important point was the inner emotional changes of Ryu Sung Joon, who faces a shocking truth as the incidents of the case become revealed one by one.”

The actor increased anticipation for the drama’s premiere by sharing a key point. He commented, “I think tvN’s ‘Blind’ is a fun drama where [viewers can] deduce who is the culprit of the serial murder involving jurors and what the real evil that is hiding the truth through the new hints given in every episode. I hope you can experience the entertainment of mystery thrillers.”

Lastly, Taecyeon remarked, “As it is a project that many people worked hard to make, I think viewers will be able to feel fresh shock and fun through our drama. Please show lots of anticipation and love from the beginning to end.”

New teaser for tvN’s crime-thriller Blind sets up the tension to come

by missvictrix

Blind_0.jpg

We’ve still got a little over a week before tvN’s crime-thriller Blind premieres, but the promos have been coming in hot. And each one just gets creepier.

Ok Taecyeon (Secret Royal Inspector and Joy) and Ha Suk-jin (A DeadbEAT’s Meal) star as brothers, which is probably one of the best things about this drama’s premise, because dramaland needs more awesome brother stories (and Ha Suk-jin always plays a great hyung character!). However, it’s not all brotherly love and soju shots with this pair.

Taecyeon plays violent crimes detective Ryu Sung-joon, and Ha Suk-jin plays judge Ryu Sung-hoon. Both pursue justice in their own way, but what happens when a new case leads one to suspect the other? The drama’s new teaser is anything but warm and fuzzy and we see how Sung-hoon begins to suspect his own little brother of being involved in the crime.

Also featured in the teaser is Jung Eun-ji (Work Later, Drink Now) who plays a social worker who is a juror on the case. We see her getting attacked, telling the person that they’re a monster, not a human.

The teaser ends with the question of who killed Baek Ji-eun (ostensibly the victim of the case), as the brothers go head to head. And the production ain’t subtle about making us terribly unsure whether Sung-joon is a hot-headed and righteous pursuer of justice, or a blood-thirsty killer like… you know… his last memorable role. I’m hoping the production is using Taecyeon’s Vincenzo character as a red herring here — and will have fun playing with the suspense instead of straight-up announcing him as the villain — but time will tell.

Directed by PD Shin Yong-hwi (Voice 4, Tunnel), Blind premieres on September 16 in the Friday-Saturday slot on tvN.
