Watch: Taecyeon Must Prove His Innocence To Brother Ha Seok Jin And Jung Eun Ji While Chasing A Serial Killer In Thrilling “Blind” Teaser

Taecyeon, Ha Seok Jin, and Jung Eun Ji have found themselves in a trial of death in tvN’s upcoming drama!

“Blind” is a mystery thriller that depicts the story of people who have unfairly become victims because they are ordinary and perpetrators who have closed their eyes to the uncomfortable truths. The story centers around detectives, judges, law school students, and jurors.

2PM’s Taecyeon plays Ryu Sung Joon, a violent crimes detective who is hell bent on catching criminals. Ha Seok Jin takes on the role of Ryu Sung Joon’s older brother Ryu Sung Hoon who is also a perfectionist judge. Apink’s Jung Eun Ji stars as the social worker Jo Eun Ki who is one of the jurors for a murder trial.

Ahead of the drama’s premiere, “Blind” has unveiled an in-depth highlight teaser that eerily starts with the struggling victim’s voice. Ryu Sung Joon then explains the unique signature characteristic of the killings known as the “Joker’s Murder Case.” To ensure more strict judgement for the upcoming trial, jurors are chosen – but their photos are later shown to be meticulously studied by an unknown figure, hinting at the danger these participants are in.

Once the “Joker’s murder case” trial starts, suspect Jung Man Choon (Jun Jin Woo) throws the court room into chaos and Ryu Sung Joon notes that something’s off about the case. The suspect also manages to steal part of the jurors’ address book before he eerily warns, “The reason you guys will die is because of what you did today.”

Now that the trial is over, the real case begins as the investigators fall further and further from the truth. Eventually, brothers Ryu Sung Joon and Ryu Sung Hoon start to suspect one another. Ryu Sung Hoon has always hid his anxiety about the way his younger brother suppresses violent criminals, so as he starts to remember chaotic old memories, he asks Ryu Sung Joon, “Did you do it? Isn’t there a different reason why you became a police officer?”

Jo Eun Ki sounds confused as she asks Ryu Sung Hoon if he does not trust his own brother while Ryu Sung Joon comments, “Sometimes, I have scary dreams, but I don’t know whether they’re dreams or memories.”

When Ryu Sung Joon is caught at a crime scene covered in blood, Ryu Sung Hoon’s suspicions appear to be confirmed, and more and more evidence comes out against Ryu Sung Joon, sending the “Joker’s murder case” into a completely new direction.

While Ryu Sung Joon fights his terrifying past memories as well as the accusations against him, Jo Eun Ki pretends to assist him as she says, “I’m going to try and believe you.” Instead, she teams up with Ryu Sung Hoon to corner him but Ryu Sung Joon shares his desperation to find the killer. Unaffected, Ryu Sung Hoon states his own determination and adds, “Even if the real culprit could be you.”

Even with so much evidence and opinion against Ryu Sung Joon, he continues to try his best to unveil the truth. Along with Ryu Sung Hoon and Jo Eun Ki, the three characters dive into this case to find the real culprit who’s hiding within the hidden truth.

As they start to combine forces, Ryu Sung Joon confidently announces, “They said [the culprit] is in court. The culprit is in there.” Ryu Sung Hoon adds, “The culprit is playing a game right now.” The closer they get to the truth, the more danger these characters will find themselves in.

Watch the full highlight teaser below!

3 Reasons Why New Mystery Thriller “Blind” Is Worth Checking Out

tvN’s new mystery thriller “Blind” is closing in on its premiere!

Starring Ha Seok Jin, 2PM’s Taecyeon, and Apink’s Jung Eun Ji, “Blind” depicts the story of people who have unfairly become victims because they are ordinary and perpetrators who have closed their eyes to the uncomfortable truths. The story centers around detectives, judges, law school students, and jurors.

Here are three points to be on the lookout for before entering the riveting world of “Blind”:

A suspenseful chase after the real culprit

In “Blind,” jurors of a particular case start dying one by one in a mysterious serial murder case. Taecyeon plays Ryu Sung Joon, a violent crimes detective who is hell-bent on catching criminals. Ha Seok Jin takes on the role of Ryu Sung Joon’s older brother Ryu Sung Hoon, who is also a perfectionist judge. Jung Eun Ji stars as the social worker Jo Eun Ki, who was one of the jurors for the same murder trial. The three become intertwined as they’re all pulled into the wild chase after the person behind the murders.

In a previously released teaser, an unknown figure was seen studying photos of the jurors and murdering them. Amidst heightened suspense, the chase to catch the mysterious culprit continues.

The chosen 9

Along with the three characters at the center of the plot, the remaining jurors are also worth noting. Including Jo Eun Ki, the nine jurors were selected randomly for the “Joker’s Murder Case.” Nothing about them is the same, from their age to gender and background. However, because they participated in the case as jurors, they have now become targets in a serial murder case.

This begs the question, “Why?” Is their part in the case the only link? Or is there another similarity that is yet to be uncovered? But as the story progresses, more questions come to the surface, like the truth behind the horrendous memories that haunt Ryu Sung Joon.

Taecyeon, Ha Seok Jin, and Jung Eun Ji’s chemistry

“Blind” will have all its viewers joining in on a thrilling investigation, and at the head of it will be a trio with immaculate teamwork. Taecyeon has established himself as a noteworthy actor over the years, while the multi-faceted Jung Eun Ji brings the perfect balance between him and the gentle yet charismatic Ha Seok Jin. The resulting synergy is expected to make this drama one worthy of checking out!

tvN’s new drama “Blind” has shared a glimpse of its upcoming second episode!

Spoilers

On the first episode of “Blind,” Ryu Sung Joon launched an investigation to find the culprit of the so-called “Joker’s Murder Case,” a brutal crime where the perpetrator murdered the victim and tore her mouth. As a result, a person named Jung Man Chun (Jeon Jin Woo), who was consistent with the autopsy’s opinion that the murderer was a person who used a knife well, was pointed out as the suspect. After securing footage containing his image as well as testimony that he had a grudge against the victim’s father, it was almost certain that he had committed the crime.

Ryu Sung Joon did whatever he could to arrest the suspect, and his brother Ryu Sung Hoon became the judge in charge of the trial. However, there was an unexpected twist of events when Jung Man Chun denied the charges and instead pointed out Ryu Sung Joon as the culprit.

In newly released stills, Ryu Sung Joon appears in court as a witness and a detective who arrested the suspect. Both Ryu Sung Hoon and Ryu Sung Joon display solemn gazes. Expectations are high on whether Ryu Sung Hoon, the perfectionist judge, will be able to keep calm in front of his younger brother and what kind of outcomes there will be.

As Ryu Sung Joon continues his testimony, Jang Man Chun’s face becomes filled with icy terror, causing the jurors, including Jo Eun Ki, to become pale with fear. Jang Man Chun even races towards Ryu Sung Hoon with bloody hands, heightening the ominousness. Will Ryu Sung Joon be able to rescue his brother from the suspect who went mad in court?

Never done jury duty but it looks sort of fun LoL? Don't think it is part of our legal system here or .. oh well LoL.

Taecyeon seem more suited for action roles, in particular a police detective one to be exact.

Yikes it must be stressful for Sung Joon as his family are overachievers. Father and brother are judges. Oof the pressure.

Sung Joon couldn't be the culprit right? And the jury seem to be picked beforehand like it's pre-planned or somethin'(?)

Saw the first two episodes and now I'm hooked.  I can see a lot of twists and turns are coming.

Has elements that remind me of the old movie "Sleepers".  But we don't know who those kids are today.

Lots of action (violence, too), the pace moved along well for me.  I hope they keep it up.  I'm glad they pixelize the gory stuff.  I always close my eyes when watching Western movies.

Episode title: Crazy Dog

Ep 1 Recap - DO NOT READ unless you want to be spoiled:

Spoiler
  • In a flashback we see that Mr Baek, father of the girl murdered later, is NOT a good guy.  He is the one chasing the kids.  They call him "Crazy Dog".

**********

Added 9/19:

  • 5 kids running through a dark forest.  Dogs chasing.  They enter a walkway.  The youngest kid, YoonJae, falls to the ground below.  They hear Crazy Dog whistling an eerie tune.  Two of the older boys run (#7, #24).  The older boy who wants to help YoonJae tells the younger boy to run, too.  He goes down to help YoonJae.
  • The dogs arrive, they hide.
  • The 2 older boys make it over the fence and try to stop an oncoming car.  The car runs over one of the boys and kills him.
  • The younger boy (#12) who was following them gets his leg caught in an animal trap.
  • The other 2 boys make it into a building and hide under the floor.  The dogs find them.

*********

  • Move to present day and we see the first murder in progress.  Appa and eomma are waiting at home getting ready for her 20th birthday party.  Appa is ironically dressed in angel wings.
  • Killer whistles the same tune as Crazy Dog, while tormenting the victim.
  • A week later the body is found in a garbage bag staged in a ditch.
  • Autopsy.  Identifying the kind of weapon and skills required.
  • Police case meeting
  • SungJoon and partner are investigating the probably kidnapping location.  He sees a motorbike delivery guy with a helmet cam.
  • After speaking with victim's friend, SungJoon investigates a club scumbag who drugs girls and uses a knife.
  • Scumbag trying his moves on another girl; SungJoon beats the $--t out of him; "crazy eyes"
  • Scumbag has a record
  • Jo EunKi is the club girl's guardian;  mistakes SungJoon as a bad guy at the police station.  I think this happens a lot to him.
  • SungJoon suspects scumbag for murder, but he has an alibi.   Scumbag threatens SungJoon with legal action because he is rich and his uncle is a lawyer.  We find out SungJoon's father is a Supreme Court Judge and his brother is also a judge (we knew that )
  • SungHoon is approached by the lawyer to change the court date.  The scumbag was on probation for priors.  We see how he doesn't get influenced by who you know, how much money you have or whatever.  The lawyer threatens to sue SungJoon because he beat up the scumbag.  SungHoon tells him he should.  People who do bad things should get punished.
  • Chief rails into SungJoon because he is being sued...again it seems.
  • SungHoon calls, there's a family meeting tonight.  SungJoon doesn't want to go.
  • Eomma has been nominated as Minister of Health and Welfare.  Both parents dote on older brother.  Seems they were busy and it was up to SungHoon to look after his younger brother, the troublemaker.  They are worried his troubles will affect the nomination.  Soooo this is the reason for the family meeting.  I don't like the parents.
  • When they get home (seems like they live together), SungJoon tries to explain but his brother, but his brother is visibly angry.  He asks, "Why did you become a cop?"
  • flashback:  SungHoon coming home and sees HS kids running.  Sees SungJoon beating up kids in an alley.  It was at least 5 to 1.  We don't see the back story, but my guess is they started it.  We see that SungJoon's face is really bloody and messed up..."crazy eyes" again
  • SungHoon says he was always afraid SungJoon would actually kill someone.  We see an inkling of the mistrust.  SungJoon is really shaken and hurt by his brothers words.  He drinks alone.
  • Victim's funeral.  SungJoon meets with the father.  Asks him about people around his daughter.  Talks about the knife.  Mother names a possible suspect.  Father dismisses what she said, hmmmmmmm?
  • SungJoon investigates the father.  He was in the special forces.  He now owns "Hope Foods".  The factory is close to where the body was found.
  • SungJoon goes to Hope Foods and sees the butcher shop.  All workers are skillfully using knives.  Foreman says he doesn't know Jung.  It's obvious from the looks of one of the workers that he also worked there.
  • When worker gets in touch with Jung, SungJoon is there and gets the name, Jung Man Chun.  They are both illegal aliens.
  • The detectives review footage from the delivery guys cam and see Jung holding a knife to victim.
  • SungJoon is taken to Jun's hideout.  Jung cuts SungJoon, they fight.  SungJoon beats up another suspect.  Back up arrives.  I like to see that.  So many times in kdramas the guy doesn't call for backup and he gets hurt or perp gets away or whatever.
  • Father and foreman are watching from a distance.
  • Interrogation room.  Insists he did not kill the victim; won't confess, eventually requests a jury trial.
  • Potential jurors are getting their "invitations" to jury duty in the mail, one is the restaurant eomma where SungJoon often goes.
  • EunKi's door is broken.
  • Juror are selected by lottery balls, while we hear a voiceover of SungJoon is explaining the process to restaurant eomma (who doesn't get chosen).  As they are selected, we see someone putting up their pictures.  Hmmm does the suspect have an accomplice in the judicial office?
  • Trial begins with instructions to the jury.  Jung says he threatened victim because her father did not pay him.  But he did not kill her.  Mother gets angry, has a fit and gets carried out of court.
  • He says he saw someone else take the girl........... RYU SUNG JOON!!!!!!!

The ending scene cuts back ad forth from the past, confirming that the father was the one terrorizing the kids; and present time looking at father, with evil look, and SungJoon with a smirk.

Note:  One filming method used by the director is to actually show us what the person is thinking.  When Detective SungJoon says the killer didn't just roll the body down the hill, we see his thoughts and see the killer carefully placing the body.  In this case it makes sense, however, this happens often, and I think the important thing to remember is we are seeing someone's thoughts, not necessarily what happened in reality.

I'll do a recap for Ep2 tomorrow if I don't see one here.

Recap for Episode 2.

Episode title:  You Should Give Up Hope as Long as You're in Here

Spoiler

Opens in the past

  • The older of the 2 boys that were cornered by Crazy Dog is at the Police Station dressed in hospital clothes.  A policeman enters bringing food.  I recognize him as the Chief in present day.  It is evident that the boy has reported something.  He is asked to write down everything that happened.
  • In a police car traveling on a dirt road.  BIG RED FLAGS!!!  Kid is asleep, he didn't hear me.  They end up at the Hope Welfare Center, of course.
  • Crazy Dog bows and welcomes the Chief.  So he is already a Chief in the past and fully aware of the goings on at the center, probably one of the bosses.  The boy has faked being sick and was taken outside of the facility to be treated.  I guess this might have occurred prior to the escape attempt.
  • Back to present day.  The trial.
  • Jung repeats that he is not the killer and there was someone else there.  We see Jung break the CCTV camera in the area.  He chases the girl and threatens her with a knife.  This is the scene caught on the bike cam.
  • A black SUV passes by and the girl escapes, running after the car.  She gets in the car asking for help and the car drives off.
  • SungHoon keeps pressing for more information:  why didn't he say anything during his arrest?  what else did he see?
  • Jung says he saw the driver, Ryu SungJoon.  Jung says he faked the evidence and is framing him.
  • EunKi remembers SungJoon.
  • The prosecution calls SungJoon as a witness.
  • SungJoon testifies about the details of the arrest:  Jung was on his way out of the country, he tried to stab him with a knife.  Why would he do that if he was not guilty?
  • The bike cam is shown.  SungJoon present the evidence:  cam, blood on the knife and finally Jung had cut another woman in the same way before (joker smile).  Pictures are shown comparing the woman's scars to the murder victim.
  • Jury deliberation.  Everyone has voted except EunKi.  She feels he was sincere when he said he didn't do it.  She is going through the materials to be sure she hasn't missed something.
  • Jung is found guilty and sentenced to life in prison.  Jung goes nuts and stabs his lawyer in the neck with a pen.  He goes towards SungHoon.  SungJoon grabs him just as he is about to stab his brother.  Jung threatens to kill SungHoon and the jurors.
  • While watching the news, the boys mom recognizes Crazy Dog, hmmmmmm.
  • The jurors are released and decide to eat at Juror 6's Japanese restaurant.
  • funny scene.  SungJoon goes to the fridge and sees all the contents lined up neatly inside.  Takes a water bottle and knocks the rest down .
  • Brothers talk.  SungJoon seems like a puppy begging for brothers approval.  SungHoon seems cold.  He delivers the lines, "Was it you?  Did you do it?"  SungJoon is crushed, hurt, almost in tears.
  • Jung is being transported to prison.  He is holding a torn piece of paper.
  • The jurors are eating sushi and decide to introduce themselves:
    • Foreman - retired corporate executive
    • Media producer
    • Office worker-Customer Service
    • Chef
    • Taxi driver
    • Internet "influencer"
    • Shaman, she doesn't say so, but we saw that when she got the mail package
    • Eunki - Social worker
    • Guy with a limp arrives late and thinks he was caught on influencer camera and gets angry.  He goes through her pictures.
  • A motorbike causes an accident with the prison bus and Jung escapes.  Police are on the scene.  SungJoon is watching the traffic cam on his phone and retracing Jung's steps.  He remembers Jung' threat and calls his hyung telling him to be careful.
  • SungHoon goes through the court documents and finds a torn page.  The page lists the jurors addresses.  Looks like the last 3 are missing.
  • SungJoon is searching the neighborhood where the motorcycle as last seen.  It is EunKi's neighborhood.
  • SungHoon texts all the juror to be careful.  He checks them off as they respond.
  • EunKi gets home and her door is still broken.  Jung is waiting inside.
  • Next morning.  Police surround EunKi's apartment.  Hostage situation and they've called in a negotiator.
  • SungJoon is not that patient and looks for another way to rescue EunKi.  He goes to the top of an adjacent building, but Jung heads inside before he can get a good shot.
  • EunKi is angry because she is the one who thought he might be innocent.  While Jung is distracted EunKi runs to bathroom, but Jung breaks the door.  While the scuffle is loudly going on, SungJung jumps to the building and through the front door.  Jung goes for EunKi with the knife and SungJoon shoots him.
  • He goes to untie EunKi and Jung stabs him in the back.
    • Note:  in the behind-the scenes, you can see the actor (Jung) easily take SungJoon's gun while he is trying to untie EunKi.  When I saw the episode, I thought the sam thing.  Why put your gun in your pants and turn your back on the perp?
  • Both Jung and SungJoon are in the hospital
  • A frantic woman asks the police officer to help as someone is attacking another patient.  Of course he goes, just as Crazy Dog and friends enter Jung's room.
  • Crazy Dog tortures Jung.  Jung admits he was paid to fake the kidnapping.  He has a recording of the conversation.  The person was...Jung YoonJae.  YoonJae was the name of the youngest kid in the escape attempt.  He had fallen off the bridge and one of the older boys went to help him.  The two of them were caught by Crazy Dog, while hiding.  Crazy Dog remembers.
  • SungJoon is still unconscious.  He dreams about the same escape attempt.  He wakes suddenly.  Is this a memory?  Is this his memory?
  • End of episode 2.

I'm going to edit Ep1 recap to add more detail about the kids.

Prev Ep 3:  Looks like CocoMom (influencer) is killed at the same time EunKi was held hostage.  Copycat or the real killer?

2PM’s Taecyeon Is Visited In The Hospital By Apink’s Jung Eun Ji And Ha Seok Jin In “Blind”

2PM’s Taecyeon will receive two very different visits on the next episode of tvN’s “Blind”!

“Blind” is a new mystery thriller about ordinary people who unfairly become victims of crime—and ordinary people who inadvertently become perpetrators by turning a blind eye to justice.

Taecyeon stars in the drama as Ryu Sung Joon, a detective in the violent crimes unit who is dangerously passionate about his work, while Ha Seok Jin plays his older brother Ryu Sung Hoon, a genius judge who tries to remain as cold and logical as possible when making judgments. Apink’s Jung Eun Ji stars as Jo Eun Ki, a social worker who becomes entangled with the two brothers after being selected as a juror for a murder trial.

Spoilers

On the previous episode of “Blind,” Jung Man Chun (Jeon Jin Woo) attacked Jo Eun Ki and held her hostage, threatening to take her life if his demands were not met. While the police planned to resolve the situation by calming Jung Man Chun down, Ryu Sung Joon went rogue and took a different route: hand-to-hand combat. Putting his life on the line, Ryu Sung Joon barged in and managed to rescue Jo Eun Ki—but not before taking a knife to the back.

In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming third episode, Jo Eun Ki pays a visit to Ryu Sung Joon in the hospital, where he is recovering from his stab wound. Although Ryu Sung Joon seems to be doing fine, there is an apologetic look of guilt in Jo Eun Ki’s eyes as she checks in on the person who saved her life.

Jo Eun Ki also approaches Ryu Sung Joon to proffer what appears to be a business card, raising the question of how the relationship between the duo will evolve.

However, Jo Eun Ki isn’t the only person to visit Ryu Sung Joon in the hospital: his older brother Ryu Sung Hoon also comes to see him.

Due to the strained relationship between the two brothers, the atmosphere is visibly tense and awkward during Ryu Sung Hoon’s visit.

Sung Jun is a little  impulsive but he still notices many details.

Thats why I was a little disappointed how carelessly he investigated the murder.

In addition, no forensic evidence was presented at the court.

I expected that SJ would immediately check the jurors' addresses.

I wonder why Sung Hun keeps to doubting his brother.

I dont like that he asked SJ so bluntly if he killed the girl.

Eun Ki is smart and rational. She took her duty at the court seriously.

They probably presented the forensic evidence, but not on screen for us.  They did refer to the blood on the knife earlier.

SJ didn't go to the jurors first as he thought JMC did not have access to their addresses, just his brother's.  I was more disappointed in SH when he didn't immediately call SJ when he discovered a few addresses missing.  Why rely on just a text/phonecall?  That could be the perp on the other end or as in EunKi's case the perp could be hiding.  Shouldn't he be sending units to check on all of them and arranging for their protection until the perp is caught?

2PM’s Taecyeon Is Shocked As Jeon Jin Woo Suddenly Kneels Before Him With An Offer In “Blind”

tvN’s “Blind” has shared an intriguing sneak peek of its next episode!

Spoilers

On the third episode of “Blind,” when Yeom Hye Jin (Baek Seung Hee)’s body was discovered with the same signature as that of the Joker murder case, Ryu Sung Joon initially assumed hat Jung Man Chun (Jeon Jin Woo) was the culprit. However, Jung Man Chun turned out to have an alibi: at the time when Yeom Hye Jin was being murdered, Jung Man Chun had been holding Jo Eun Ki hostage at her house.

Additionally, Jung Man Chun continued to insist that he was not Baek Ji Eun’s killer, and he even gave Baek Moon Kang (Kim Bup Rae) the name of someone who he claimed was the mastermind behind everything: Jung Yoon Jae.

In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming fourth episode, Jung Man Chun shows a drastic change in his attitude as he shares a surprising encounter with Ryu Sung Joon. In contrast to his fiery, hostile demeanor from before, Jung Man Chun drops to his knees in desperation as he pleads with the man whom he viciously stabbed not long ago.

During their meeting, the humbled Jung Man Chun attempts to strike up a deal with the detective, offering him vital information that is crucial to solving the Joker murder case.

The story becomes more intriguing.. Everyone is suspicious  :D

I thought the members of the jury were chosen at random but they were chosen by Sung Hun.

The scene with the fortune teller was completely unexpected. I assume SJ killed the dog that was

chasing them in the past.

I hope EK will tell SJ about that motorbike. It is a quite important information.

that was funny with her business card...SJ was a little embarrassing.. I like their chemistry.

Image

I didnt understand why SH went to check SJ's car.

I wonder which of SJ's personality turned that lamp off and on.

Hi folks! Nice to meet y'all.:fullofhearts:

"Blind" got me so curious that I needed to share my humble thoughts with y'all, so thanks for reading me!

So far, I watched the first three eps and here what I understand (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) :

- SJ is somehow one of the children of hope welfare center

- SJ's been adopted/rescued by SH's family

- SJ forgot his past because of the trauma, or he could've personality disorder...

- SH is suspicious of his brother since he already witnessed his violent side (maybe more than once)

I wonder which of SJ's personality turned that lamp off and on.

I think (and I hope I'm wrong) that one of SJ's persona is the killer/revenger. He's kinda got his revenge over his tormentors children. Moreover earring of the first victim is found in SJ's car and at the end of the ep, SJ could be seen holding the second victim's decorated nail.

Well, I might've more answers with ep 4...

Thanks for reading me though! :heartxoxo:
