Synopsis:

 

It continues the cliffhanger from The Kung Fu Cult Master where Zhang Wuji heads out to find Zhao Min in Dadu. Unlike the righteous hero in the novels, Zhang Wuji's journey is much darker as he turns vengeful.

Zhang Wuji (Raymond Lam) takes the Nine Yang Manual back to the Ice Fire Island. Under Xie Xun's (Elvis Tsui) tutelage, he finally masters a divine martial arts technique and becomes attuned to the way of the king. Having been oppressed for being weak, Zhang Wuji realizes that the only way he can take revenge is to seize power because his real enemy is the political force behind Cheng Kun (Yu Xing). It takes Zhang Wuji 20 years before returning to Bright Peak. He is no longer indecisive and distracted by romantic entanglements because he is set on his goal to do whatever it takes to become the Ming Sect leader and then to become King.

just watched this!

 

so this New Kung Fu Cult Master 1 is not a continuation of  1993 Jet Li's version, but totally remake! , the story is reset from scratch.

 

and there are TVB and Shaw Brother logo at intro, a brand that we miss so much, haha

 

the story change so much, but i dont have problem with that.

the old wuxia fight choreography, without slow motion effect, is back!

if you dont mind for oldie zhang wuji and the story diverge so much from novel

then this reboot is more positive than negative

i would rate 7.5 for part 1 and 7 for part 2
