Jung Da-eun to appear in Netflix's 'Hounds of Dogs'

image_readtop_2022_684952_16595270585127

On the 3rd, Star News reported that Jung Da-eun has confirmed her appearance in Netflix's original 'Hounds of Dogs', replacing Kim Sae-ron, who has been controversial because of drunk driving.

According to the report, 'Hounding Dogs', which had the last amount of filming left, made the character Cha Hyeon-joo, played by Kim Sae-ron, a death-level development, and decided to substitute Jeong Da-eun for the role. Jung Da-eun takes on the same or similar role as Kim Sae-ron in the play.

'Hounds of Dogs' is the story of three young men who set foot in the loan business in pursuit of money, getting caught up in a huge force. Previously, Kim Sae-ron took on the role of Cha Hyeon-joo, one of the three young men, and proceeded with the filming. However, as Kim Sae-ron was caught by the police on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving) in May, additional filming was prohibited.

On the other hand, Jung Da-eun made her debut as a child role in the movie 'The Zoo' in 2014 and appeared in movies 'Youth Police', 'Middle School Girl A', 'Seonhwa and Seulgi', 'Lion', and 'People who live alone'. In Netflix's 'D.P.', she also played the role of Seon-ah, a disciple of Jo Seok-bong (Jo Hyun-cheol).

Netflix Releases Statement Regarding Kim Sae Ron’s Appearance In “Bloodhounds”

dummy.jpeg?s=900x600&e=t

Apr 18, 2023
by M. Lim

Netflix has released a statement regarding Kim Sae Ron’s existing footage in the upcoming drama “Bloodhounds.”

On April 18, Netflix made a statement regarding Kim Sae Ron’s appearance in “Bloodhounds,” saying, “Kim Sae Ron will not be completely edited out. It is difficult to tell you about the details of her screen time because it’s currently under discussion.”

In May last year, Kim Sae Ron was booked under charges of drunk driving. Kim Sae Ron then shared apologies through her agency and a handwritten letter, before stepping down from her other drama “Trolley.” Since the accident, Kim Sae Ron has suspended all of her activities and has reportedly visited the affected businesses to compensate them financially.

Following the incident, Netflix initially announced that Kim Sae Ron would no longer participate in filming for “Bloodhounds,” but elaborated that most of her scenes were already completed. After much consideration, “Bloodhounds” seems to have decided to leave only the minimum necessary screen time for the actress to help viewers understand the overall story of the drama.

Based on a webtoon of the same name, “Bloodhounds” is an action noir about three men who try to get out of debt and also become intertwined because of debt. Kim Sae Ron plays the role of Hyun Joo who is like family to Mr. Choi (played by Heo Joon Ho), who once ran a successful private loan business.

Recently, on April 5, Seoul Central District Court Criminal Division 4 sentenced Kim Sae Ron to a fine of 20 million won (approximately $15,200) on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act (drunk driving). Kim Sae Ron had chosen not to appeal.

Bloodhounds is a drama about two young men caught up in the world of loan sharks - where the money takes precedence over people's lives - risking their lives against a powerful force of evil.

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, the drama stars Woo Do Hwan (currently seen as Kang Han Su in the historical drama Joseon Attorney: A Morality) as a sincere and considerate boxer Kim Geon Woo, and Lee Sang Yi (famous for his performance in the rom-com Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha) as a charming and affectionate Hong Woo Jin.

Geon Woo and Woo Jin fight against a notorious loan shark Kim Myung Gil (Park Sung Woong), who reigns above the law.

The first trailer shows the actors in action. From face-smacking punches to fast-spinning kicks, the drama is brimming with high-octane fights. By the looks of it, we can also expect heart-warming bromance and camaraderie between the main leads.

Along with the trailer, the upcoming K-drama also got its first poster released. The poster portrays Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi, bruised and bleeding but with clenched fists and unwavering determination, ready to fight. The catchline on the poster reads, "Their biggest fight is not in the ring", indicating the powerful forces the boxers will be tackling.

The K-drama is written and directed by Jason Kim, famous for his work in Midnight Runners

Bloodhounds will hit our screens on June 9. The action drama will air a total of 8 episodes. It will be available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
