Han So Hee In Talks Along With Park Seo Joon For New Drama

Han So Hee and Park Seo Joon may be starring in a drama together!

On June 17, SportsToday reported that Han So Hee has been cast for a leading role in “Gyeongseong Creature” (literal title).

In response to the report, the actress’s agency 9ato Entertainment commented, “Han So Hee received a casting offer for ‘Gyeongseong Creature’ and is reviewing [the offer].”

“Gyeongseong Creature” is a thriller about survival and human dignity. It tells the stories of youth who lived during a time when sovereignty and human rights were taken away from them, and they had to put their lives on the line just to achieve the most basic happiness. It will be written by Kang Eun Kyung of the “Dr. Romantic” series and directed by Jung Dong Yoon of “Stove League.”

Last month, it was revealed that Park Seo Joon is in talks to play the male lead Jang Tae Sang.

Wi Ha Joon Cast In Drama That Park Seo Joon And Han So Hee Are In Talks For

Wi Ha Joon is gearing up for another drama!

On November 18, an industry representative reported that the actor has been cast in the upcoming drama “K Project” (working title, previously known as “Gyeongseong Creature”).

In response to the report, his agency MSTeam Entertainment commented, “Wi Ha Joon is starring in ‘K Project.’ The exact details are currently being sorted out.”

“K Project” is a thriller about survival and human dignity. It tells the stories of youth who lived during a time when sovereignty and human rights were taken away from them, and they had to put their lives on the line just to achieve the most basic happiness. It will be written by Kang Eun Kyung of the “Dr. Romantic” series and directed by Jung Dong Yoon of “Stove League.”

It was revealed earlier in the year that Park Seo Joon is in talks to play the male lead Jang Tae Sang, and Han So Hee is also considering a role in the drama.

Wi Ha Joon has been cast for the role of Kwon Joon Taek, who is Jang Tae Sang’s best friend. He was born in a wealthy household but feels hostility toward his pro-Japanese family. Somewhat relating to Jang Tae Sang who is a voluntary outsider, the two become close friends.

Along with the international success of “Squid Game,” Wi Ha Joon has a full lineup of upcoming projects beginning with “Bad and Crazy,” which premieres on December 17. “K Project” will reportedly begin filming in January, and Wi Ha Joon is also in talks to join the cast of “Little Women” (literal title) after filming “K Project.”

Park Seo Joon And Han So Hee Confirmed As Leads Of New Thriller Drama
 

Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee will be uniting for a new drama!

It was first reported last year that the two actors were in talks to star in “Gyeongseong Creature” (literal title).

On January 27, the upcoming drama announced that Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee have been confirmed as the leads, and filming has officially started.

Set in the dark times of Spring 1945, “Gyeongseong Creature” is a thriller about two young adults who face off against a creature and fight for survival. It will be written by Kang Eun Kyung of the “Dr. Romantic” series and directed by Jung Dong Yoon of “Stove League.”

Park Seo Joon is set to play Jang Tae Sang, a wealthy man of Bukchon who has naturally keen insight and knows how to get by in the world. His sociable personality also makes him a well-known figure through Bukchon.

Jang Tae Sang has always gone along with the reality before his eyes rather than following justice, but he then meets Yoon Chae Ok who has lived a completely different life from him. When she enters his life, Jang Tae Sang faces what he has hidden away deep in his heart and begins to change as he thinks about what it means to “live like a human.”

Han So Hee takes on the role of Yoon Chae Ok, who searches for missing people. Since she was young, she learned how to get by in life with her father as they journeyed through Manchuria and Shanghai. Having survived through terrible situations, she is skilled at working with guns, knives, and all sorts of machinery.

Yoon Chae Ok comes to Gyeongseong (Seoul’s name during Japanese colonial rule over Korea) to track down her mother who disappeared 10 years ago and ends up meeting Jang Tae Sang. While chasing down a mysterious case of serial disappearances, she comes face-to-face with the horrifying reality.

Park Seo Joon shared about his new drama, “I am very interested in the historical backdrop of Gyeongseong. I found a project with that setting, and I am excited and happy to work with an incredible writer, director, and staff members. I will now work hard to portray Jang Tae Sang as an actor.”

Han So Hee commented, “I am honored to show a new side of myself through ‘Gyeongseong Creature,’ which is filled with diverse and various stories like Chae Ok who appears tough on the outside but has a warm heart. In order to live up to the great expectations and interest, I will work hard to impress by preparing more diligently.”

“Gyeongseong Creature” is scheduled to premiere in 2023.

@Jeomju1216 Yeah, not really know the history behind how part of Korea first started leaning towards socialism ideas, but I think it can be a hint on it. 
 

As I said in Discord spring of 1945 background being a year of Korean liberation from Japan is very interesting setting. It’s a sensitive period, but so much history happened back then. By that point it was almost already clear that Axis power will fall. With Italy being already defeated, Germany being defeated in May and Japan’s defeat coming in autumn. And in just August of the same year Korea gains it’s own independence. But just 5 years later it gets devastated and divided in two by a civil war…
